Was out there a couple of years ago and spent just a few days hiking the canyons along the ridge. Best hiking I've done in a long time and can't wait to get out there again!.....:-)
you produce a wonderful world of discovery. you are humble and respectful AND playful. I believe your current manner of production makes a little jewel each adventure. Cheers!
That whole Cedar Mesa/Bears Ear region is incredible, would have loved to seen it at it's population peak, Comb Ridge is an amazing landmark on satellite views...Always enjoy videos from that region...
Gorgeous views, incredible explores--what's not to love about this channel? Shout-out to Kevin and Hiker-Dog, Maggie: two friends who've got Jeff's back! 👏👏👏👏👏Shame about the AWOL drone...
I've spent a lot of time at the Combs & Butler wash area. Beautiful spot, much stuff to see; ruins, caves & Fantastic scenery! So glad I live in Utah!! Love your videos 💗 Thank you!
Looks like you guys weren't that far from where I used to live in Page, AZ... I liked the large cave you visited. The corn looked like they just up and left it there! I got to do a hike in Sedona, AZ, where archeologists had just found new ruins with corn cobs still stuck in the walls of the buildings. Cool stuff!
Great content. My wife and I have been to several places around southeastern Utah and southwestern Colorado....we love that area. Thanks for sharing!!!
I know I’m a bit late but maybe it will still work ,, if you’re drone was a DJI that has up to date firmware it has a feature called find my drone and from personal experience I can tell you it works .. hope the info helps …. Keep up the awesome videos/ history record ..
Fascinating. So many questions. Why did people settle at such sites, how did they live, who were they? Did they hunt or gather food or cultivate? I can imagine their children laughing and playing and scampering about on those cliffs. I’m from the UK, but on a trip to NM last year, I was overwhelmed by the vast openness, massive skies and breathtaking terrain. Thank you for sharing your wonderful explorations.
Cool place. I wonder what happened to the people, seems like they just up & left in a hurry left the corn 0n the stone & took off. Strange. No personal possessions left except 4 some pottry shards.
I know it sounds crazy but maybe the corn was a newer addition , as I imagine crows or rodents would have found them. How cool it would be if it really did survive the centuries. Let's say it did😊❤the video as always. Thank you.
Have you ever camped in any of the ruins? Naturally being careful not to leave anything but footprints and take nothing but pictures. It would be interesting to see the shelter from cold and rain (I’m writing from 2023 where Burning Man was thoroughly drowned !).
One way to know how old the ruins aer is ti take a small piece of wood from the mortar or Adobe & have it carbon dated. It would not disturb the site at all. You just need a sliver.
@@majflip6610 the Anasazi culture is well documented and studied... it is already a shame this guy is irresponsibly advertising the location of these treasures but to suggest harvesting even a small piece is against the law
Drones are extremely disturbing for those of us who are hiking peacefully. Try to think of the other hikers out where you are and leave the drone at home.
Really you came here just to complain. Get over yourself. Live and let live! Bet all those people in his footage just hated the drone. Oh wait there wasn’t any!!!
@@brandonpettit-gr9ly , no, I didn't come here to complain, I follow this channel. This time I commented about flying a drone in this area filled with hikers. On Cedar Mesa, there are restricted areas for drones for good reasons. In general, take off and landing of a UAS is prohibited in lands administered by the National Parks Service and in Wilderness areas administered by a variety of federal agencies such as the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, those restrictions are in place because drones are a nuisance to wildlife and people looking for a peaceful experience. If someone flew a drone every Sunday afternoon over your backyard, filming your kids and other members of your family, you wouldn't like it. The popular wilderness areas are the backyards of many of us and having drones above our heads is no fun. I agree: live and let live.
@@joanneteasdale4192 how many times have you been out on a hike and been harassed by a drone? Never!!!! I’m out hiking every weekend all across my state and I can honestly say I’ve only encountered one drone and guess what it wasn’t a bother. Now if people are harassing other people or wildlife. Yes I agree. But just being a Karen is not a reason to spit off a bunch of rules. I’m certified and a license flyer, yes you are correct there are no fly zones. Comb Ridge is an amazing area. Literally every draw and hollow has a ruin in it. Some incredible rock art, too. Procession Panel is my favorite.

When cows make their own steps, they look like that.
Wow. If you ever need a hiking partner, I’ll fly in from the East Coast no problem
haha That would be quite the adventure!
That guy knocked it out..didnt want himself on it.
Soooo, what brand/model drone do you fly?
fun.
I know nothing about the desert but I was curious do you have to watch the dog carefully for scorpions and snakes?
I don't know anything about drones except I don't want them in my space, but our space is ok. GPS, do drones come equipped or can they be added?
What in the world could the people who lived there . have been so afraid of.
Cannibalism. "Man corn."
Other people

It is illegal to camp inside of archaeological sites
A rock climbing class and some equipment may be helpful.
2:27 if you ditch the junk food , like chips ahoy, you'll add 10 years more hiking etc, instead of subtracting 10 years from your life

don't touch them. It is against the law and absurd. These sites are well know, he is discovering nothing new, and pros have the answers you want.

Next time you fly a drone, put something that smells for a long time and your dogs can sense it, then use the dog.
Tie a kipper to it😂. Sorry I couldn’t resist, a good idea though 😊
