The website I usually use for character kits (Project ambr) still shows Xianyun's ascension 4 passive description as 200%. Not entirely sure if it's because they're a bit late or because the change got rolled back. I don't think it's a huge deal either way, but just know it might be 200% or 180%!

Also zaj showed that with yelan the diff isnt big because you will lose vape but i tried and i got the vapes tho and with my calcs it was around less than 30% increase (i forgot the numbers) so yes xianyun is a strict upgrade for hutao but you can refer to Genshin theory crafter (TCG , i forgot his name so excuse me) where he showed total DPS which went from 73K to 77k which is around 5% total DPS increase although i think its 7% because i dont agree with one assumption he made . i hoped all this info helped peepoHug

@@ravissary79 She's only been on Wanderer banners so far, and looking at the banners of other element specific 4 star buffers like Gorou or Sara it is unfortunately very very unlikely she'll ever end up on another five star's banner (unless they're running alongside Wanderer ofc)
I'm glad that, despite having the same role as Xianyun, Jean doesn't feel powercreeped and became useless, she still has elemental cleans in her ult, still has the sunfire interaction (which I love so much) and for those who keep getting her in the 50/50, at c2 she brings running speed and normal attack speed bonuses, and her skill helps alot at grouping fatui in chambers in the abyss
her C4 also makes her BiS for Wanderer. And her C6 is the missing piece of Exodia to enable true invincibility when paired with Xingqiu and Beidou (MHY learned that additive damage reduction is a huge mistake and never released another DR unit again).
@@AeryMP3 it's enough to finish a chamber without blowing through your bursts. Similarly to how I do so with kazuha. Xiyanyuns animations look too long and cooldowns are too long to even do that.
another funny thing about bennet in this team, I'm 90% sure he actually has a faster plunging animation than other swordies, meaning he scales even better with it

I'm excited for Xianyun. There was a combat event a long time ago which let you spam plunges on anyone, and that was fun for me. Glad they're making a character to bring that experience back. There's a specific domain in the Sumeru desert that also increases jump height, PLUS gives you a vortex and sometimes I go back and play it with my Cyno, it's so fun

im definitely getting her, i really like her design for one but more importantly she opens up more gameplay opportunities and now every new release character will have their intended playstyle + one that incorporates plunges into gameplay be an option, and this isnt even taking into account any plunge focused characters they release in the future,which they definitely will, how long that will take, who knows.
I was always interested in Xiao's playstlye, but never wanted to invest in a team just for him. So I'm excited for CR. The fact that it sounds like she will be decent is just a nice bonus. Great pre-release as usual. You're my go to for pre-release (and the post release followup).
What I wouldn't give for a Pyro 5-Star with Bennett's ATK-Buffing capabilities, like Yelan has Xingqiu's off-field Hydro Damage capabilities... I want to be a Diluc Main again, but I can't justify breaking up the Rational Team for anything when it carries half of the Abyss for me almost every time.
I don't really care about the abyss or big DMG and such, that's why I play my fav with ease. Otherwise, I would've chosen my other DPs's to play with, like: Wanderer and Alhaitham. Even when I wish for other characters I never take Diluc out of my party which kinda makes me sound deranged not gonna lie XD @@sonadowfiend
@@nightstar3157 I get that, as I still use Diluc at least for Floors 9-11 every Abyss Rotation, and usually for Floor 12 as well. It's just unfortunate that Raiden National is heavily dependent upon Bennett, because it leaves Diluc feeling very underwhelming, even with as much love and nostalgia as I have for him. My "Dilucopium Team" is Yelan, Diluc, Zhongli, and then either Kazuha, Albedo, Fischl, or even Chongyun as needed depending on the enemy line-up. Unfortunately, even I struggle with certain enemies (Thundering Manifestation and its teleporting nonsense, for one), and find Nahida and Kuki Hyperbloom to be essential now and then to get 36 Star Abyss Clears. I love my Redhead Batman, but even with a Top 7% build I can only squeeze so much usefulness out of him.
I feel like her biggest value is going to be in overworld exploration more than anything, TRIPLE JUMP that is insane. And her animations look cool. So if she's good for overworld, I'm planning to pull, it doesn't seem like she really shines in anything outside of that, kinda like trying to play furina without a good healer
I noticed you haven't really mentioned *Kazuha.* I'd be interested to hear what you'd have to say about kazuha Teams like *TF Kazuha* or even *Main DPS Kazuha at C6.* He does have an interesting interaction with XY's buff: *His A1 passive, Soumon Swordsmanship* (The additional absorbed elemental DMG when he uses his E). Kazuha can have multiple instances of "Plunge DMG" every time he uses his E (Collision, A1, and EAnemoDMG). From what I have seen/heard so far from those who have had the experience in Beta, it seems like the instance that gets buffed by XY is his A1 Soumon Swordsmanship elemental plunge dmg, rather than his Anemo Dmg. I'm curious to know if his Anemo Plunge from E would get buffed instead if he doesn't absorb any element when casting his E? And how you think XY would work with him in General as a TF spammer or main DPS at C6.
Thanks so much! This is amazing! I guess the one other thing to mention regarding her pull value is that it seems extremely unlikely that Gaming is the only forthcoming plunge-centered character designed to be synergistic with her.
I think there's a world where she also makes Chongyun relevant. Shenhe+Xianyun + some kind of Pyro applier. Xiangling could technically do it but those ER requirements are going to be rough. Idk if Dehya could work, she'd have to coordinated attack after each plunge. If she does, she can. If a future Pyro character comes out with more frequent off-field attacks, Rev Melt Chongyun isn't too crazy. Edit: I have Oathsworn and will be using that in non-Xiao teams. Xiao teams have 3 anemo (Faruzan C6) and she will absolutely not need any ER on those teams so Thrilling Tales can eke out an extra 2k on Xiao's plunges. VV is highly interchangeable with Noblesse on XIao's team. NO notably increases Xiao's personal dps and VV only slightly increases Furina's. In the end, choose whichever set has your best subs, the difference is negligible in comparison. 52:18 Interesting, I was about to tear this apart considering his personal damage balance should equal out with massive atk bonuses from Vermillion but actually I put my Wanderer's also cracked Desert Pavilion set on and the calculated plunge damage increased by 10k. So this is surprisingly not only valid, but way better.
i wonder if thoma can, but if i remember he only applies pyro when the plunge connects. Dehya can Feel Too Slow, and you would probably use her in melt if you have a dendro like nahida but with this team, i doubt you can make a slot of nahida there.
If she has some Constellations maybe. Rev Melt is still strong in this situation. Though she's probably the best bet in the absence of a proper pyro applier. @@soulfli

I remember seeing ppl putting Itto, Xiao, Eula in the same low tier. After the release of Faruzan and CR, it makes me really sad that Eula is left behind. Coping that someday they’d buff Physical carries again.

Imagine a physical attack buffer that gives a 50% double attack chance on any physical attack. Eula's normal, Plunge, E, and burst gets a chance to deal damage twice.

I’m really looking forward to: Kazuha/Bennet/Furina/Xianyun I love both Kazuha and Bennet as on-fielders. With this team I can build both as pseudo-carries and just on-field whichever I feel like whenever I feel like it. I’m pumped. Sure, it won’t be as poggers as one built full-support and the other full-carry, but everything will be dead regardless, zero hp, 36 stars, etc. I don’t need to win-more when I can have fun more. Next week is Christmas.
On bennett carry, Do you give up on the pyro VV swirl with xingqiu on your team? I have made it work using kazuha with Yelan Furina on like 60-70 ping, but tbh idk if it's worth to spend all that time after casting bennett burst when you could've done one or two more plunge attacks.
Edited the comment to specify I’ve done it with kazuha whose e cast is quite quick, if cloud retainers skill casts take long and her damage takes longer to come out than it might not even work no matter how you do it.
I'm going for her because I like her association with the lantern rite and I like that her "niche" is a fun one. I'm excited to try her out with both Diluc and Gaming, but also with Yae Miko as well.
It's so cool that Xianyun will introduce entirely new gameplay for Hu Tao. I tried her against that gravity changing boss and had a lot of fun with it, it feels so much better than her normal gameplay. The fact that it doesn't need her C1, which I don't have, is also great. Never liked HuTao as much, but Xianyun I'll definitely play her more often
They really had the audacity to release a character that buffs Hu Tao and Diluc one patch after rerunning Yoi. Ladies and gentlemen it really is Yover.
Yoi got buffed with Chevreuse, what you on? If anything this helped Diluc closed the gap between, him, her and Klee. Hu Tao is mostly a sheet thing and even that aside, Bennett is still competitive as the last slot, so Xianyun is a sidegrade not upgrade.
On the topic of using her to grant plunge attacks to characters who have infused attacks, Catalyst characters do. How can this be useful? For some reaction comps where you on field a catalyst character as a driver you can use plunges instead of charged attacks(unless the character has mechanics for charged attacks) because plunges have no ICD and don't cost stamina, and may be able to go out faster than the usually slow charged attacks of a catalyst character.. So for example, Nahida on field for spread/bloom based reactions in some comps could do a rotation of N1/plunge/plunge/N1 for 4 quick applications of dendro on top of her E procs. Otherwise on field DPS catalyst characters like Wriothesley is another example where you can simply mix in plunges as part of his combo. Also depending on how good the damage buff is, this could be great for Physical teams like Eula to stack up the damage during her Q. Sadly this still doesn't help Xinyan...
Thanks for the video! Is Xianyun worse than Jean in teams where you don't plunge at all and only use her for fanfare stacks and VV? If so, to what extent? 3-5% worse (in terms of team DPS)? 10% worse? I mean, she obviously has worse "healing for Furina" than Jean, because she generates less stacks at the beginning of the rotation. In other words, how much team DPS do I lose if I want to stop using Jean and use Xianyun instead?
Furina doesn't drain your health to 50% fast enough in a rotation so xianyuns helaing over time is good enough where there is no real difference between fanfare for both characters unless you somehow start with 50% health.
@@prastal I'd say that's true in most scenarios. My very approximate calculations made me think that first Furina drains about 10% of the carry's HP left from the previous rotation, which is 10 fanfare stacks, then Jean's initial healing gives Furina about 160-170 stacks, and then she's gonna generate about 2,5 stacks per second, and Furina will generate 10 stacks per second. Xianyun gives Furina about 40 stacks (after Furina drains HP equivalent to 40 stacks) for the simple reason that she holds the whole team at about 100% HP for the rest of the rotation, and Furina is at best able to drain 10% HP before Xianyun uses her burst. Through the rest of the rotation Xianyun is going to generate about 10 fanfare stacks per second, as well as Furina. I think that Jean reaches the 300 stacks limit by the 9th second after her burst, while Xianyun does that by the 11th second. But the most important thing is that although the fanfare gap between them becomes smaller over time, it's huge at the beginning of the rotation. Sure, by the middle of the rotation it's gonna be tiny, but it's pretty big at the start. It's 45% damage bonus vs 20%. And every second the gap becomes smaller by approximately 2,3% or so. The carry can be on-field for up to 14-16 seconds, he also has a damage bonus goblet at least and gets Furina's buff. From my calculations the damage increase for the carry from using Jean is about 5%, but assuming that at least Furina also does damage, the DPS increase is 4% at most. I think that in most scenarios it's gonna be even less, because in reality the carry tends to have other elemental damage bonus sources, and in a lot of teams there are other sub DPS characters apart from Furina so the percent of the total team DPS that the carry does is smaller. To sum up, the difference exists, but it's very small, on average it's gonna be about 2%, at max 4%. Now I'm sure I can use Xianyun instead of Jean and not lose even 5% of team DPS, which is great!
I'm sure you've thought of this, but a few additional factors: 1) the longer a fight goes the smaller that dmg increase difference from capping Furina's fanfare will become. Either healer has plenty of healing to keep it maxed. 2) Unlike Jean, as a catalyst user Xianyun can hold a weapon that gives an additional direct dmg buff to your on-fielder, further off-setting (and in some cases surpassing) that small initial dmg loss from the slower Furina cap. 3) If you plan to invest in Furina cons down the road, the time-to-max fanfare between the two healers will become effectively non-existent from a buff calculation perspective.

I'm pretty sure I included it while calculating, just didn't mention. 2) I assumed that in most teams where there's no plunging she's solo Anemo, so I chose for her to be on Fav Codex, otherwise it's kinda hard to get enough ER from substats. Oathsworn eye is better in terms of healing, and gives energy, and the gap becomes even smaller if you use it, but Fav is comfier, and the actual difference in healing is tiny, so... She's on Fav. Well, I can see Hakushin Ring or the Sumeru Craftable be OK in aggravate or taser... But honestly even if they are slightly better they are too niche to level them up, especially when you can use the "books for crafting" to craft Prototype Amber and increase its healing and energy regeneration, which is pretty good for many characters in many situations thanks to Furina. 3) That's fair, but I'm a free-to-play, and I prefer new characters over constellations, so I used C0 Furina for this calculation. But you're right, of course.
I completely agree with this. Zajef's whole video is completely what I thought about how Xianyun would affect team building as soon as I received word she's going to make all characters jump high enough for a plunge. It's not in the list, but I'd love to try Mona DPS teams using Xianyun tbh
Eye of perception is only 4% less than Oathsworn due to the 51.1% ATK (calced at ATK% Sands/Goblet/Circlet and 6 combined atk% substat rolls on flower and feather) edit: Not accounted for the ER you get from Oathsworn, which is huge
whole video is pretty cope when you consider opportunity cost to roll and that her competition is a standard banner character. Not to mention locked to bennet c6 or furina. plunge is not even a fun playstyle all you do is lock yourself into an animation. I say this as someone who was really excited for her but like dehya mihoyo doesn’t know to make fun niche characters.

the moment i saw cloud retainer the first character who popped to my head who'd win with her was Hu Tao. hu tao's plunge attack damage multiplier is insanely high on top of her already insanely high charge attack modifier. She was an easy to see winner, because she really couldn't use the plunge attack in her normal combo without the boosted jump from something.

I think you might have forgotten razor (correct me if im wrong) he's a claymore user with the second best plunges in the game you can either do a normal physical team or use c6 bennett to have pyro plunges this means he isn't restricted to his burst which removes one of the biggest problems razor has
Under Burst - Xianyun make a coordinated attack (Anemo) on Plunge with other On-Fielder. Are you sure it won't remove aura on the target ? Ex -> Plunge Pyro remove half hydro + Anemo swirl Hydro => No more Aura. Does furina apply enough to re-apply before next plunge attack ?
Leak tests without Furina showed that while it got incredibly close, XQ alone was enough to guarantee vapes for Hu Tao’s plunges and charged attacks. And when I mean close, I mean no-more hydro symbol but still vape damage levels of close. Furina makes that feel a lot more comfortable.
I like how her crippling weakness (that her buff is single target) was only mentioned 50 min in. And that weakness is what makes her niche not the rest of her kit

...childe has a stronger plunge attack...but only in his bow form because he cant in stance....i feel like something will come from this, but idk what xianyun is a plunge enabler with also a plunge buffer, definintly going to have to think on how to use it in the different ways
25:15 Zajef my guy I have never in my entire life seen Kokomi in Nilou Bloom lose to a Barbara or Ayato. It just doesn’t happen in optimal Nilou runs unless I’m missing something. You can make an argument for Neuv having advantages there especially with his c1 and key, but I don’t see the ayato and barbuh argument. Respectfully, this comes off as a I don’t play Nilou very much take.
@@khoisai9357 That is irrelevant with sac frags aka her BiS. Kokomi with a hybrid build can easily cap EM and some heals watch Jamie’s video in it. I think zajoof might have been waffling when he said that.
Optimal Nilou runs inherently implies resetting until things go right. Ayato's main upside is how large his AoE is, letting you get away with suboptimal play much more easily. Barbara's main upside is being able to move, letting you do the same. Keep in mind that my content isn't aimed at speedrunners!
@@Zajef77hmm but my issue here wasn’t with speed-runs it was with your own level of TC skill assumption. In the vast majority of cycles I can remember as a casual Nilou player, Kokomi with your auto grouping advice and jellyfish resetting just clears faster. I get the same feedback from speedrunners and casuals alike on that front. Nilou is comically easy to clear with using almost any hydro unit so I understand the differences between options can be hard to spot sometimes but I truly have never seen Barbara clear faster then even a casual Kokomi with the same player. Maybe the better word choice would be situationally on par with Kokomi which sounds more reasonable. My issue was the idea that Kokomi actually loses with the same player at the helm playing Nilou and playing reasonably well for a casual. I am not a speed runner.

I'm glad that, despite having the same role as Xianyun, Jean doesn't feel powercreeped and became useless, she still has elemental cleans in her ult, still has the sunfire interaction (which I love so much) and for those who keep getting her in the 50/50, at c2 she brings running speed and normal attack speed bonuses, and her skill helps alot at grouping fatui in chambers in the abyss

Jean also has the luxury of having non negligable personal damage unlike Xianyun. Granted, it's not amazing, but it's there.
her C4 also makes her BiS for Wanderer. And her C6 is the missing piece of Exodia to enable true invincibility when paired with Xingqiu and Beidou (MHY learned that additive damage reduction is a huge mistake and never released another DR unit again).

I'm excited for Xianyun. There was a combat event a long time ago which let you spam plunges on anyone, and that was fun for me. Glad they're making a character to bring that experience back. I can't wait try out different teams with her.

I was always interested in Xiao's playstlye, but never wanted to invest in a team just for him. So I'm excited for CR. The fact that it sounds like she will be decent is just a nice bonus. Great pre-release as usual. You're my go to for pre-release (and the post release followup).

I don't really care about the abyss or big DMG and such, that's why I play my fav with ease. Otherwise, I would've chosen my other DPs's to play with, like: Wanderer and Alhaitham. @@nightstar3157 I get that, as I still use Diluc at least for Floors 9-11 every Abyss Rotation, and usually for Floor 12 as well. It's just unfortunate that Raiden National is heavily dependent upon Bennett, because it leaves Diluc feeling very underwhelming, even with as much love and nostalgia as I have for him. My "Dilucopium Team" is Yelan, Diluc, Zhongli, and then either Kazuha, Albedo, Fischl, or even Chongyun as needed depending on the enemy line-up. Unfortunately, even I struggle with certain enemies (Thundering Manifestation and its teleporting nonsense, for one), and find Nahida and Kuki Hyperbloom to be essential now and then to get 36 Star Abyss Clears.
I love my Redhead Batman, but even with a Top 7% build I can only squeeze so much usefulness out of him.

He does have an interesting interaction with XY's buff: *His A1 passive, Soumon Swordsmanship* (The additional absorbed elemental DMG when he uses his E).
Kazuha can have multiple instances of "Plunge DMG" every time he uses his E (Collision, A1, and EAnemoDMG).
From what I have seen/heard so far from those who have had the experience in Beta, it seems like the instance that gets buffed by XY is his A1 Soumon Swordsmanship elemental plunge dmg, rather than his Anemo Dmg.
I'm curious to know if his Anemo Plunge from E would get buffed instead if he doesn't absorb any element when casting his E? And how you think XY would work with him in General as a TF spammer or main DPS at C6.

Her A1 is only going to work in AoE, it's based on how many opponents her E plunge hits, not her Ult coordinated attack.
Thanks so much! This is amazing! I guess the one other thing to mention regarding her pull value is that it seems extremely unlikely that Gaming is the only forthcoming plunge-centered character designed to be synergistic with her.
I think there's a world where she also makes Chongyun relevant. Shenhe+Xianyun + some kind of Pyro applier. Xiangling could technically do it but those ER requirements are going to be rough. Idk if Dehya could work, she'd have to coordinated attack after each plunge. If she does, she can. If a future Pyro character comes out with more frequent off-field attacks, Rev Melt Chongyun isn't too crazy.
Edit: I have Oathsworn and will be using that in non-Xiao teams. Xiao teams have 3 anemo (Faruzan C6) and she will absolutely not need any ER on those teams so Thrilling Tales can eke out an extra 2k on Xiao's plunges.
VV is highly interchangeable with Noblesse on XIao's team. NO notably increases Xiao's personal dps and VV only slightly increases Furina's. In the end, choose whichever set has your best subs, the difference is negligible in comparison.
52:18 Interesting, I was about to tear this apart considering his personal damage balance should equal out with massive atk bonuses from Vermillion but actually I put my Wanderer's also cracked Desert Pavilion set on and the calculated plunge damage increased by 10k. So this is surprisingly not only valid, but way better.
i wonder if thoma can, but if i remember he only applies pyro when the plunge connects. Dehya can Feel Too Slow, and you would probably use her in melt if you have a dendro like nahida but with this team, i doubt you can make a slot of nahida there.

I love both Kazuha and Bennet as on-fielders. With this team I can build both as pseudo-carries and just on-field whichever I feel like whenever I feel like it. I’m pumped. Sure, it won’t be as poggers as one built full-support and the other full-carry, but everything will be dead regardless, zero hp, 36 stars, etc. I don’t need to win-more when I can have fun more. Next week is Christmas.
On bennett carry, Do you give up on the pyro VV swirl with xingqiu on your team? I have made it work using kazuha with Yelan Furina on like 60-70 ping, but tbh idk if it's worth to spend all that time after casting bennett burst when you could've done one or two more plunge attacks.
I've just assumed no pyro swirl for now, will definitely be one of the things I test on day 1
Edited the comment to specify I’ve done it with kazuha whose e cast is quite quick, if cloud retainers skill casts take long and her damage takes longer to come out than it might not even work no matter how you do it.

It's so cool that Xianyun will introduce entirely new gameplay for Hu Tao. I tried her against that gravity changing boss and had a lot of fun with it, it feels so much better than her normal gameplay. The fact that it doesn't need her C1, which I don't have, is also great. Never liked HuTao as much, but Xianyun I'll definitely play her more often
They really had the audacity to release a character that buffs Hu Tao and Diluc one patch after rerunning Yoi. Ladies and gentlemen it really is Yover.

If anything this helped Diluc closed the gap between, him, her and Klee.
Hu Tao is mostly a sheet thing and even that aside, Bennett is still competitive as the last slot, so Xianyun is a sidegrade not upgrade.

On the topic of using her to grant plunge attacks to characters who have infused attacks, Catalyst characters do. How can this be useful? For some reaction comps where you on field a catalyst character as a driver you can use plunges instead of charged attacks(unless the character has mechanics for charged attacks) because plunges have no ICD and don't cost stamina, and may be able to go out faster than the usually slow charged attacks of a catalyst character.. So for example, Nahida on field for spread/bloom based reactions in some comps could do a rotation of N1/plunge/plunge/N1 for 4 quick applications of dendro on top of her E procs. Otherwise on field DPS catalyst characters like Wriothesley is another example where you can simply mix in plunges as part of his combo.
Also depending on how good the damage buff is, this could be great for Physical teams like Eula to stack up the damage during her Q. Sadly this still doesn't help Xinyan...
Small note: sadly plunge attacks does not build her ult stacks
Xinyan would easily prefer vape with C6 Bennett.

Thanks for the video! Is Xianyun worse than Jean in teams where you don't plunge at all and only use her for fanfare stacks and VV? If so, to what extent? 3-5% worse (in terms of team DPS)? 10% worse? I mean, she obviously has worse "healing for Furina" than Jean, because she generates less stacks at the beginning of the rotation. In other words, how much team DPS do I lose if I want to stop using Jean and use Xianyun instead?
Furina doesn't drain your health to 50% fast enough in a rotation so xianyuns helaing over time is good enough where there is no real difference between fanfare for both characters unless you somehow start with 50% health.
@@prastal I'd say that's true in most scenarios. My very approximate calculations made me think that first Furina drains about 10% of the carry's HP left from the previous rotation, which is 10 fanfare stacks, then Jean's initial healing gives Furina about 160-170 stacks, and then she's gonna generate about 2,5 stacks per second, and Furina will generate 10 stacks per second.
Xianyun gives Furina about 40 stacks (after Furina drains HP equivalent to 40 stacks) for the simple reason that she holds the whole team at about 100% HP for the rest of the rotation, and Furina is at best able to drain 10% HP before Xianyun uses her burst. Through the rest of the rotation Xianyun is going to generate about 10 fanfare stacks per second, as well as Furina. I think that Jean reaches the 300 stacks limit by the 9th second after her burst, while Xianyun does that by the 11th second. But the most important thing is that although the fanfare gap between them becomes smaller over time, it's huge at the beginning of the rotation. Sure, by the middle of the rotation it's gonna be tiny, but it's pretty big at the start. It's 45% damage bonus vs 20%. And every second the gap becomes smaller by approximately 2,3% or so. The carry can be on-field for up to 14-16 seconds, he also has a damage bonus goblet at least and gets Furina's buff. From my calculations the damage increase for the carry from using Jean is about 5%, but assuming that at least Furina also does damage, the DPS increase is 4% at most. I think that in most scenarios it's gonna be even less, because in reality the carry tends to have other elemental damage bonus sources, and in a lot of teams there are other sub DPS characters apart from Furina so the percent of the total team DPS that the carry does is smaller. To sum up, the difference exists, but it's very small, on average it's gonna be about 2%, at max 4%.
Now I'm sure I can use Xianyun instead of Jean and not lose even 5% of team DPS, which is great!
I'm sure you've thought of this, but a few additional factors: 1) the longer a fight goes the smaller that dmg increase difference from capping Furina's fanfare will become. Either healer has plenty of healing to keep it maxed. 2) Unlike Jean, as a catalyst user Xianyun can hold a weapon that gives an additional direct dmg buff to your on-fielder, further off-setting (and in some cases surpassing) that small initial dmg loss from the slower Furina cap. 3) If you plan to invest in Furina cons down the road, the time-to-max fanfare between the two healers will become effectively non-existent from a buff calculation perspective.
@@georgemacdonald8667 1) Yeah, that's true. I'm pretty sure I included it while calculating, just didn't mention.
2) I assumed that in most teams where there's no plunging she's solo Anemo, so I chose for her to be on Fav Codex, otherwise it's kinda hard to get enough ER from substats. Oathsworn eye is better in terms of healing, and gives energy, and the gap becomes even smaller if you use it, but Fav is comfier, and the actual difference in healing is tiny, so... She's on Fav. Well, I can see Hakushin Ring or the Sumeru Craftable be OK in aggravate or taser... But honestly even if they are slightly better they are too niche to level them up, especially when you can use the "books for crafting" to craft Prototype Amber and increase its healing and energy regeneration, which is pretty good for many characters in many situations thanks to Furina.
3) That's fair, but I'm a free-to-play, and I prefer new characters over constellations, so I used C0 Furina for this calculation. But you're right, of course.

I completely agree with this. Zajef's whole video is completely what I thought about how Xianyun would affect team building as soon as I received word she's going to make all characters jump high enough for a plunge. It's not in the list, but I'd love to try Mona DPS teams using Xianyun tbh

Yea. Just looking at Hu Tao damage is misleading.
whole video is pretty cope when you consider opportunity cost to roll and that her competition is a standard banner character. Not to mention locked to bennet c6 or furina. plunge is not even a fun playstyle all you do is lock yourself into an animation. I say this as someone who was really excited for her but like dehya mihoyo doesn’t know to make fun niche characters.

the moment i saw cloud retainer the first character who popped to my head who'd win with her was Hu Tao. hu tao's plunge attack damage multiplier is insanely high on top of her already insanely high charge attack modifier. She was an easy to see winner, because she really couldn't use the plunge attack in her normal combo without the boosted jump from something.
But Hu Tao’s plunge multiplier is one of the lowest in the game. What even are you talking about?

he's a claymore user with the second best plunges in the game
you can either do a normal physical team or use c6 bennett to have pyro plunges
this means he isn't restricted to his burst which removes one of the biggest problems razor has
Under Burst - Xianyun make a coordinated attack (Anemo) on Plunge with other On-Fielder. Are you sure it won't remove aura on the target ?
Ex -> Plunge Pyro remove half hydro + Anemo swirl Hydro => No more Aura. Does furina apply enough to re-apply before next plunge attack ?
Leak tests without Furina showed that while it got incredibly close, XQ alone was enough to guarantee vapes for Hu Tao’s plunges and charged attacks.
And when I mean close, I mean no-more hydro symbol but still vape damage levels of close. Furina makes that feel a lot more comfortable.

Her ascention mats are Cloudseam Scale (Chenyu Vale boss), Clearwater Jade (Chenyu Vale), Samachurl Scrolls (everywhere), Vayuda Turquoise (obtainable from her boss), Philosophies of Gold (Liyue), and Lightless Eye of the Maelstrom (Fontaine), so only her weekly talent material is from Fontaine
I **really** want to see how her Hu Tao teams do compared to the old-school stuff in practice. I actually have a pretty nice VV set she could grab, so expanding my options with jump Tao sounds cool. :D

25:15 Zajef my guy I have never in my entire life seen Kokomi in Nilou Bloom lose to a Barbara or Ayato.
It just doesn’t happen in optimal Nilou runs unless I’m missing something. You can make an argument for Neuv having advantages there especially with his c1 and key, but I don’t see the ayato and barbuh argument.
Respectfully, this comes off as a I don’t play Nilou very much take.
Her jellyfish don't move as command like barbara e and ayato e, but yeah Kokomi heal better but they are on em set anyways

Optimal Nilou runs inherently implies resetting until things go right. Ayato's main upside is how large his AoE is, letting you get away with suboptimal play much more easily. Barbara's main upside is being able to move, letting you do the same. Keep in mind that my content isn't aimed at speedrunners!
@@Zajef77hmm but my issue here wasn’t with speed-runs it was with your own level of TC skill assumption. In the vast majority of cycles I can remember as a casual Nilou player, Kokomi with your auto grouping advice and jellyfish resetting just clears faster. I get the same feedback from speedrunners and casuals alike on that front.
Nilou is comically easy to clear with using almost any hydro unit so I understand the differences between options can be hard to spot sometimes but I truly have never seen Barbara clear faster then even a casual Kokomi with the same player.
Maybe the better word choice would be situationally on par with Kokomi which sounds more reasonable. My issue was the idea that Kokomi actually loses with the same player at the helm playing Nilou and playing reasonably well for a casual. I am not a speed runner.
