Elmer is a true classic icon of the hard working American of years past. Can't wait to see this spot in a week or so. We will definitely add to the fund bucket, and hoping others have the common decency to not abuse the privilege to enjoy and capture images there.
Money was money what was their problem. This video is needed, but I'm a little irritated. Some of the things that the interview was said were asked and the way he might have done it. We'd love having talks and coffee with these folks won't come our way again. :(
Sure sounds familiar. I grew up in Vermont (Barre, Marshfield, Cabot) and New Hampshire (Wolfeboro). Elmer seems to spend a lot of time staring at the ground. New England farmers sure are a humble and droll lot.
Was this recorded in 1992? The year Floyd died? I've gone up and met Mike Jenne. The kids run the farm as a co-op and seem to be doing ok but could use more folks paying to take pictures (money box at the big tree in the video) or of course they still produce maple syrup.

Elmer brought logs up to my dad’s sawmill on North Road Barnard. Stopped at his house at the farm one time and met Floid and his wife.
Vermont now is in the process of elimination by taxation of the local farmers like this ! Shameful. !
