    If the local people knew about all of these ruins then how can anyone say that Bingham discovered them?!?!? The local people had probably been using the ruins for farming for centuries!!

    “Discovery” is a relative term, same as Columbus , it’s within the context of modern exploration that it’s discovered. Most places were already inhabited, just not made public by an accredited modern individual.

    • @JacobBingham-rr2bs
      @JacobBingham-rr2bs 28 дней назад +1

      It's a definitive term that's why it has a definition. He discovered it because he documented it and brought it to the world, and yes the locals FOUND it but they didn't claim it or document it.

    So this guy is credited as “discovering” it when all he did was pay the locals to tell them what they already knew about the place they were already living in? He’s nothing more than a glorified hiker with a giant pocketbook funded by his wife.
