So an Alienware is an Ideal windows laptop? And who use Alienware as their work machine! It's primary purpose is gaming not to take it in a coffee shop.
+Fstoppers I know what discrete graphics are meant for. Ever heard of Asus zenbook ux303ln/ux303lb? It's a thin and light 13" ultrabook with GT940M. You want to take your laptop in a coffee shop you need a lightweight machine. Not an alienware. Dell XPS 15, Asus Zenbook Pro UX501 are great machines with discrete graphics which don't weigh too much like your alienware. The Zenbook Pro has a GTX960M which will outperform your MacBook Pro for crying out loud. Only if you are a gamer you use a laptop like alienware. I never heard any professional to use an alienware as their work machine. It's ridiculous. You are a new fan of apple, that's fine. But windows laptop's aren't too bad. You said every windows machine you put an hands on felt cheap. The truth is you never really seen many of the greatest windows machines. Acer aspire s7, hp xpectre360 they are all great machines. The dell xps 13 feels like a machine comes from the future. So please before you put a video on the internet do some research first.
+Mukhlisur “Mahbub” Rahman What does taking a laptop to a coffee shop have to do with 'work...WORK' machine? And he didn't say it was an ideal Windows laptop. At all. He said the opposite, really.
+Mukhlisur “Mahbub” Rahman You also keep ignoring that he uses Adobe Premier and other graphically intense apps. What that has to do with taking it to a coffee shop, I don't know, but I'm not the one being ridicolous.
I'd like to see a Photographers review of the surface book. As a Macbook Air user I pre-ordered a Surface Book so I could get more functionality out of Lightroom and Photoshop. I like the touchscreen and pen input to get more fine detail while editing masks, selective adjustments, etc.
To be fair you are at fault here, for functionality with programmes like Lightroom and photoshop you should of never gone with the MacBook Air. You should of gone with the pro.
+Farhad Poorabdulahzadeh Lalehkani (G-Farzy) obviously I didn't get the Air specifically to use those programs. I'm looking to upgrade my old computer.
***** then going to windows is not an upgrade i promise you that. going to windows means you are prone to viruses and malware, sure you can get programmes to prevent such things however doing this would just slow down your computer with all the constant needs to scan, updates, you'll be losing your space for just updates, and plus, uninstalling programmes will leave leftovers sure you can get a programme to do delete them for you, however that programme will take space and it will need to update leading to more memory loss, i can go on all day on why upgrading to windows is a bad idea. trust me, save yourself some extra money if you are short, and go with the mac, on the plus side you already have mac air, so you are familiar with the interface and how it works.
+Farhad Poorabdulahzadeh Lalehkani (G-Farzy) yea I already bought a MacBook Pro 2013 with 16gb ram and dedicated gpu. The surface book is still too gimmicky
MountGraphics Umm nope. The more interconnects and adapters you have, the more inteference and noise youre going to hear on your earphones. Interconnects will be made from cheap tinned copper. Earphones that generally cost more than 200 will have silver coated or pure copper. Having that interconnect in the middle is just going to destroy the effects those cables are going to have in the music. Even so, it will make no difference as both are unbalanced meaning static energy can interfere. Unless youre talking about a 2.5mm jack thats balanced meaning instead of positive and negative, one carrys a negative audio signal, the other carrying the positive phase signal where itll collide together at the end to phase out any inconsistenies. All in all, its just going to make the music sound crappier especially with apple earpods that bleed out as much as i bleed every month. Theres no isolation, close to no lows, eqed terribly and some people have sensitive skin which reacts to the plastic build of earbuds. I like apple for their design but taking out the headphone jack is the stupidest decision one can ever do.
I don't understand why this video has so many dislikes. I'm a graphic designer and how things look and feel is very important to me. So I really appreciated this review!
+Edwin Contreras I design websites, and I agree. The way a computer is designed (physically) makes a huge difference, and this guy's looking closely at the details, which is nice to see. I personally have a Sony Vaio laptop, and while it's incredibly powerful and strong, and it looks quite good, but it's still not on a level with a Macbook unfortunately.
+Edwin Contreras So why are you taking pictures with prepubescent pubic hair on your face then? You get caught walking down the street with that shit on your face? All right... #LOOKSmyAss 😂😒🐏🐑
Lee, I'm sorry, I love you, but this was hard to watch. I myself use both a MBP 13 and a Windows laptop. One is for work and one for home. So, I would not consider myself a fanboy of either. My main gripe is that you are trying to compare two devices that are in totally different classes of hardware. One is essentially a 13" tablet with keyboard & stylus accessories. The other is a full fledged 15" laptop.
+BazookaMan3 If you have enough money to get the Surface then you can get this MacBook. The equivalent MacBook (hardware wise) is $1000 cheaper. Why can't Microsoft give us an equal class of hardware at an equal price?
Lee, again, I love you. I've purchased multiple tutorials from Fstoppers. I love all of your content. This is the first video that I feel strong enough about to comment on. Please take this as constructive criticism and nothing else. The beginning of the video is where you should set the tone of the whole thing, explain what you're going to discuss in the video, level set the audience, etc. Here is how I understood the first 3 minutes of the video, taken word for word from the video, in chronological order: "Apple products are absolutely gorgeous, they seem perfect to me." "It's like the most beautiful electronic hardware there is available." You were talking about Apple hardware here. "Every time I pick up a Windows laptop, no matter who has made it, it feels so cheap and crappy. There's no joy in using a Windows laptop." And then for some unknown reason, in an MacBook Pro vs. Surface Book video, you pull out an Alienware laptop and discuss that. "It looks like my dad's laptop from 1995, it's stupid." Then you further fuel the Apple vs. Windows flame. "Mac users see me using this and they think it's a joke, they think I'm playing a prank on them. It's not elegant. It looks like a child designed it. It's made of cheap plastic. The whole thing flexes. The bezel is insanely big. The thickness of the screen is insane. It's really ridiculous." "I am going to be as unbiased as I can possibly be." This was quickly followed by "I am here to admit that I have never seen a laptop come close to an Apple laptop in terms of the design and skill and the amount of effort that went into actually creating it." That's the first 3 minutes of an "unbiased" comparison. I'm sorry, I love you, but this video was hard to watch.
+BazookaMan3 The surface book is a Laptop first. Its not tablet. It actually preforms better than most Macs and computers in its class plus it has more features like touch, pen and tablet that no other computer can do. So I would agree the MacBook is not in the same class.
+BazookaMan3 Because that really is an unbiased opinion, when it comes to design, material and build quality no laptop can come close (they even test the keyboard sound and trackpad click to make it perfect). He did compliment a lot of Surface Book features, watch it completely, he's a Windows user after all. And no the Surface Book is definitely a laptop (with a snap out feature) so he can compare it, he didn't compare the Macbook with Surface Pro.
Pete Jskksk me too bro, this guy is actually quite bias in some way, but all the other guys commenting are fanboys i think, they criticize everything, they don't get the main idea of the video creator
not sure if it is the case, but i heard that one of the connectors on the "tablet" is the same as that of the power cable. Maybe you can power the "tablet" directly with the cable? (might be where the tablet connects with the dock)
+Jeffrey Syang yea the guys a idiot... he latter benchmarks the i5 version that doesn't even have the gpu base with a $2300 mac... for whatever reason he was thinking that he had the high end i7 with gpu. so, obviously it lost. when compared to a laptop that's 3x bigger and costs 1k more.
bottom line is a last gen i5 -i7 in the new macbook and a new i5-i7 in the surfacebook. (specs are very similar due to intel's tick cycle last year.) so that should have been close, but then you add in the GPU which is a optimized chip that specs near a GTX 960m but has a custom architecture to increase its performance in the surfacebook specifically. so its actual bench should be around that of a 980. the MacBook pro he is using doesn't even have a dedicated gpu option. but if you get the heavier and thicker 15in you can get a crappy amd chip. that sits around a NVidia 670mx which is almost not even a class 1 gpu.
I bought a laptop 3-4 years ago that is faster than the new macbooks. by simple math (using mores law) the MacBook should be 200% faster than my laptop. but nope..... at least the surfacebook is 200% faster. thanks to that gpu.
+Conor Raypholtz mhhh, you surely mean that GTX960m is overclocked to look like it is a 980m? That being said, I find it highly unlikely as the performance gap is around 50% between these models, and seeing that this graphic card sits with 1Gb of Vram, I find it even more unlikely... (the 960m have 2)
"When I see the apple logo on the Macbook Pro, I can really imagine a real apple.... I can almost taste it... it's amazing. When I see the windows logo on the Surface Book, I cannot imagine a real windows.... they are like ... 4 squares or something....nop, I'm not feeling it" Bias, anyone??
Ah, thats because is not a window, is just a Microsoft logo, just what you say, four squares xDD so... look, this is the Microsoft logo upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/96/Microsoft_logo_(2012).svg/2000px-Microsoft_logo_(2012).svg.png (four squares of different colors) and this is the Windows logo betanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/win-10-logo.png (actually a window)
***** Nope see the Microsoft logo again, the red square is Office, the blue square is Windows, the Green square is Xbox, and the yellow square is Bing (nobody uses xd)
"The tablet portion feels too light" MY GOD IS THIS A LEGIT PROBLEM PEOPLE ARE HAVING?!? If Apple made their products that light it wouldn't be a problem but the opposite - everyone would love it and think they are being innovative. When MS does it thought its a problem. SO MUCH BIAS
***** Think about this, if you don't move, you still scratch the table (depending on surface). Because when you press down the keys repeatedly, the hinge grinds into the table thus causing damage to it still even without moving just by the passive force you apply onto it.
The best unbiased review. I have been using Microsoft desktops and many laptops since 1988. I also admit that 99% of the computers felt cheap and still do. I recently got the macbook pro and it is beyond my expectation. It's the best build machine with fine OS.
Brendan Reilly I'm on crack alright... You must be blind. Cause after seeing this and the comparison that he made with the photoshop you guys still believe that surface is good? Well good luck there.
Really inconsistent comparison, seemingly quite deliberate to make Surface Book looks bad. First, Magnesium alloys feels like plastic (how is that even possible?). Then when the clipboard is detached with a full core i7 processor, which the MacBook Pro can't do, it is suddenly too light (too light?), then when reattached with the screen facing another way, it's too heavy and isn't as light as (no, not the Macbook Pro now), believe or not, now he chose to compare it to an iPad.
***** depends on which model you are comparing. if its the 980m version then yes that is true. if it is the 970m version then no it is not because that would mean that even though they have the same parts one is faster which would mean alienware overclocks their items which they do not. if you are talking about the graphics amp then that's obvious because its proprietary so they only have to accommodate to their machines. razer uses thunderbolt 3 which means its allows more devices to connect. and the graphics amp is barely faster than the core. razer blade also is faster in boot time out of the box because it uses pcie ssd out of the box while the 33mm thick alienware uses hdd and m.2 ssd which is slower. alienware devices when configure to the razer blade's specs are almost the same price if not more.
+John Hanson I've never owned an Apple product, and hope to never own one lol But I need a laptop to do homework (in university currently), so I was wondering what you would reccomend. I'm not adverse to building one, too. You seem knowledgeable about computers :)
Personal preference and saving money for what one deems to be a worthwhile purchase usually skirts that issue. My statement was based on a subjective and anecdotal opinion. I suggested to try a razer blade. I'm not forcing this youtube channel to get one and you are most certainly entitled to your opinion. *One of.
+Uk Not compared to the MBP... Here lets give you a comparison: Razer Blade: Screen Size14 inches Screen Resolution3200 x 1800 Max Screen Resolution3200 x 1800 pixels Processor2.2 GHz Core i7-4702HQ RAM8 GB DDR3L SDRAM Memory Speed1600 MHz Hard Drive512 GB flash_memory_solid_state Graphics CoprocessorNvida GeForce 870MGraphics Card Ram Size2000 MB Number of USB 3.0 Ports3 MBP: Screen Size: 15 inches Screen resolution: 1280 x 800 Processor: 2.2 GHz Core i7 Quad Core RAM: 16GB DDR3 SDRAM Memory Speed: 1600 MHz Hard Drive: 256 GB Flash Storage Graphics: Intel Iris integrated graphics/AMD Radeon R9 Ports: 2 USB 3 Oh and both are prices right around $2000.
+Uk You said it was over-priced, but really it's not over-priced in comparison to a high-selling laptop like the MBP. They're just giving you an example as a rebuttal to your statement. At least you get your money's worth with the Razer Blade.
+Eric Evans Well, speaking as someone who has owned both the Razer Blade and the Retina MacBook Pro, I can say that, although the Blade is by far the best looking Windows laptop, it's still a far cry from the MacBook Pro in build quality. Some things where the Blade falls short compared to the MBP: - The screen hinge isn't nearly as well balanced. You can open the MBP with a single finger. Not so on the blade. - The screen wobbles when you touch it, or move the laptop around. Not so with the MBP (though it lacks a touchscreen) - The screen on the Blade might be higher resolution, but it doesn't look nearly as good. It also doesn't dim all the way down, and doesn't go as bright. - The screen on the Blade is waaaay more reflective than that of the MBP - There is flex to the body of the laptop with the Blade that the MBP doesn't have. The MBP is rigid and a lot more sturdy - The trackpad of the Blade sucks in comparison to the trackpad on the MBP. The buttons especially. - The MBP has fuller, better sound - Battery life is mediocre at best, and way behind compared to the MBP Sure, the Blade boasts a much better graphics card and is fantastic for gaming. It is also hands down the very best Windows laptop I've ever owned. I'd recommend it to any mobile gamer that wants laptop that can compare to the MBP in terms of design and build quality. Or anyone in the market for a powerful laptop that also looks great. But it's far from perfect. You definitely get your money's worth, but you ARE paying a premium for those sexy MacBook-like looks. Windows also scales terribly to that high resolution screen. For the same price, the Aorus X3 offers dual SLI GPU's and room for two or even three SSD's instead of one in the Blade. It also has a fantastic screen and a smaller footprint with the same specs.
+Jr Thomas ppl say apple charges you too much but magically a surface book which starts at $1500 is acceptable but yet all MacBooks are $100 off at best buy which you can get the middle model for $1450 at 256 gb
Jordan Clark the surface book is an innovative laptop that turns into a super powerful tablet with a higher resolution two cameras and dat hing takes smart ppl to design macbook pro same design since 2011? And the cost doesnt decrease
+Michael Hany you're saying the cost doesn't decrease but yet they're all on sale right now..... Lmao go look man they go on sale every year ppl are just clueless
+Retro radio and lets not forget that that is the exact same problem the users of the previous charger had, it had the same design as the surface charger and it would block a ethernet, and maybe the firewire port asswell if you didnt stick it in a specific way
"Its incredible that its light, but it feels cheap." Bro come on, you cant seriously come up with an honest complaint about that giant ass tablet being light. Thats an incredible benefit no matter what.
That seems like a valid argument though. Just because something is light does not mean it's build quality is high, there are many ultra books out in the wild made entirely out of plastic, sure they all weight as much as a feather but there feel in the hand is not good.
Microsoft Fanboys are getting upset. I am a PC guy myself but i can appreciate all the design, quality and build of a product. I am glad I watched this video, he went through details and comparisons that no one else ive seen did. Like the trackpad, the balance of the screen when lifting it up. The feel, the quality. That is what Apple talk about a lot, the design, the build, the quality. Those who appreciate this kind of thing will understand, but if you want a laptop that just works, is powerful, and costs a fraction of the price there is plenty out there. It is good attempt by Microsoft considering they are new to manufacturing their own laptops. Maybe at some point in the coming years they will refine all the features and make things right. But Apple has set a very high standard in terms of design and build quality to the very small details
+BenTheLeo somewhat true but I work at Best Buy ppl literally come in every day for a messed up windows computer rarely do we ever see macs with issues even directly out of the box there have been hundreds of Windows computers that had to be returned for basic build quality issues I rarely ever see a Mac returned for any issues with the computer
"A little bit of vibration *lightly shakes MacBook*, but is nothing compared to the surface pro *violently shakes the screen with all his strength*" Yeah, buddy, totally legiit comparison. :D
I really like that you didnt talk about perfomance in this video, but strictly on the feels and quality. This is the kind of video everybody should make, Take notes other youtube reviewers.
People are so stupid at times honestly. I have owned both Mac and Windows for the longest. Been a solid Windows user for 12 years of my life. Recently I decided to try out the Macbook Air and by far, it has been the best decision I have ever made. Everything feels solid and clean compared to the other laptops I have owned. The OS is way smoother than Windows but of course, there are some things I don't like about the Macs and one of those things is the lack of applications for the OS itself. Other than that, if you really like quality, I would suggest a Mac over a windows computer. If you prefer an OS and system with a wider range of manufacturers with different specs, price range, and versatility, then by all means go with a windows device since Apple computers are limited to quite a few things.
This review is not biased at all.. dude even complained about the surface book being light.. what? Then he proceeded to complain that it's heavier when switched backwards. Do you even gravity? And since when did macs become the standard specifications for laptops? Not to mention you're comparing two totally different products.
why so many thumbs down? he didn't even say anything that polarizing and was true to his word in that he was unbiased... salty people with alienware laptops?
I use Alienware and Macbook air now, the Alienware just isn't the laptop to work with or go to school, if you carry that thing around, you will have 6 packs and big biceps (if that is your goal of having an Alienware you must be built by rock, including your brain), I was thinking to buy a surface book, having both some advantages of windows and accessibility of a tablet.
The DP being covered by the charging cable being attached backwards is the oddest nitpick. Not being able to realize that you can flip it around to gain access is something that would only be problematic for a small child. Also, the 2015 macbook has exactly 1 port for both charging and data. Hence, if you've got that plugged in for charging, you're blocking EVERY OTHER PORT ON THE MACHINE since that port would be used for everything else. So yes, no only would Apple indeed do that, they did it to the Nthe degree.
+Stan V Aaaand oh look, the laptop charging cable also attaches to the Surface Book tablet directly. Apple can't say that about ANY of their tablets of the same generation (let alone ever).
+manco82 Funny thing is, it was actually a design point that was overlooked by Apple, during the MagSafe 1 days. If you ran your power cable from your side of the table, the MagSafe 1 cable would block at least the port next to it. Then they switched to MagSafe 2, and if you run the cable from either the front or back of the table, you have to bend it.
Normally, I don't commit on videos on RUclips, but this video is over the top! Why can't other video product, reviewers fail in this regard! Great work my friend! I found this video more informative than almost any of the videos I've ever watched on RUclips on almost any product, and I've watch RUclips for about 9 years!
This guy hates Alienware so much and he still went ahead and bought it without even knowing that it's meant for gaming. What kind of people do y'all bring for reviews? Fire this fool
This is not a conversation about whats better, it's an analysis on the design philosophies of both products. A very good entertaining watch, while staying pretty unbiased. Anyone here looking for differences between feeds and speeds is watching the wrong video
Don't run away from the fact that he's honest. And to be honest, you seem to be insecure that Apple have beaten Microsoft. This dude's just saying what he feels
1.The macbook pro IS made of aluminum not just "feeling like metal" That's why it's so highly recyclable and thin but rigid and durable. 2.The 2 lightning ports are actually 2 thunderbolt 2 ports resulting in 40gbps data transfers. 3.The force touch trackpad delivers a consistent clicking experience although the part itself isn't moving at all. Haptic feedback is provided by the taptic engine and fools the user perfectly.
The older MacBook's with the MagSafe 1 blocked ports. The MacBooks used to be thicker, as most people know, so there were much more ports and the MagSafe was the same design as the thing on the Surface Book, and it was interchangeable, but it did block ports. The MagSafe 2 is much more efficient with that.
+Anuxo I'm not saying the macbook 2015 sucks, i'm just saying it lacks another port. Probably you are right and in the future everything will be done in the cloud but, unfortunately we are living in the present.
11:00 I think i understand that decision. They had to make the charger to be put either way because if you put it the way it blocks the mini display port but its more organized cause the wire goes along the laptop. When themini display is needed, flip the charger
Teorus Firre one ring to rule it all. why lug two? when a surface book can do it all. P.S. you can charge the tablet form with an external battery. but the you need to lug the battery
Teorus Firre that's why Microsoft has embarked on eating away at Mac's market share in this 'designer' niche. old school designing (at school) is very much Apple, but the state of the art is shifting to MS as it comes up with more and more innovations targeting designers. Just do a cursory search about Surface and Designers and you'll get the drift. Better yet, visit the dynamo of new creatives in East Asia, unlike the USA, MS is the new Apple for state of the art design, creation and professionals. I'm in East Asia, I see it happening at the top centres of learning and in industry
0:08 "I've just bought it" (the MBP) 0:30 "I've never owned an Apple computer in my entire life" (LOL) 2:22 "thicker than my iPad." 21:00 "my iPhone" So, you have a MBP, an iPad, an iPhone, and you clearly stated those are the best of the best in their respective fields. And you're not an Apple fanboy? (Hint: you definitely sound like one.) What's funny is how you clumsily tried to deny it, in order to appear unbiased (sorry, it didn't work, your comparison was hilariously biased in favor of Apple.) No wonder a large part of this comparison is focused on how the keys and the trackpad sound to you...
I wonder how many people who criticize the MacBook actually owns one? He's only comparing the build quality. Is there any question that apple has the BEST build quality?
Yea I'm questioning it all day. Apple products do not last, buttons stop working, hard disk failure, battery failure, screen failure. They might look nice to some (not me I think they fugly), but they are not built to last the distance.
That's a lie. I own a mac mini (3 years, bought new), a macbook pro (4 years, bought second hand) a macbook air (5 years, bought second hand) and an ipad 1st generation. Macbook pro and mac mini are used for professional reasons, heavy work. Not once crashed, none of them, never done any re-installation or service of any kind. Not a button ever broke, never lost data etc. Since I bought them, I never spend not a second in FIXING THINGS, like I did with windows-based PCs (I had been using windows for almost 20 years...) And I truly know many people who can say the same thing. When you make accusations, you should be more specific about what happened to you. You can't say all laptops or cars or whatever sucks, just because you had an accident or you didn't know how to use them...
Where are you getting this info dude? I know firsthand 5 people who still have their Macbook Pro from 2008. There's a professor at my college still using the old white Macbook from forever ago. You're clearly a butthurt windows user...because the beauty of Apple products is undisputed.
You may not be able to recharge the tablet portion via the keyboard's battery, but you can charge the tablet part of the surfacebook with the power supply by attaching it to the bottom where it plugs back into the base.
I got my first macbook recently and the screen cracked after closing it gently on earphones... cracked. The screen was flimsy as it was, one finger opening was impossible. The whole laptop came up. I didn't know that it was possible to make something so poorly. I'm moving back to the good looking windows laptops that are built faaaar better and are half the price. Edit: I hated the keyboard, too.
This is my first time in my life seing someone bring along his huge thick alianware gaming laptop as working tools. Why not just use workstation laptop like from hp or msi etc etc. Or macbook pro.....
Clearly you are dumb. In a comparison he should compare everything. When he is comparing screens he should compare everything related to screen. Did you forgot to go to school?
I guess someone has already brought it up, you can charge the "Clip board" with your power cable from the bottom side where the tablet attach to the keyboard base. Great video, unbiased and clear, I do enjoy it a lot, thanks.
You make great videos. This was really well done. Very honest and your candor and first impressions are great. Youre prob the first person that took a moc to the keyboards. I would agree that the SB speakers don't have as full a sound, however the holes you are looking at are only ports, the speaker is behind the actual glass unit. Another point on that "plasticky" feel of the SB. It is not plastic at all. Magnesium is a very hard, yet very light metal. It has a peculiar feel to it. This is the same material that they use to make the wheels on jet planes like the 747s and carrier based planes. For it is extremely strong, whereas the Macbooks are made of "Aircraft aluminum" This is also nice and yes gives a nice smooth finish. Yet they dent very easily. As someone that supports many businesses, I see Macbooks get beat up just from transport to and from home. The keyboard face especially gets dented a lot especially the grill area where the speakers are, for that is a weak structure area. All Surfaces are made of that magnesium alloy, but it is not plastic. I have seen demos where a surface was tossed off a 2nd story balcony onto a marble floor without damaging it. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you have complete care, which covers accidental damage, and, accidental coverage with Apple Care is another feature Apple does not offer. Thanks again for taking the time to make this.
this is just a straight up apple-biased review no matter how many disclaimers you've given throughout the video. you've been giving too much time and effort identifying the things that are wrong in the surface book but have given nothing but sheer appreciation to the macbook's design. yes the macbook is better, but it isn't perfect and you don't have to undermine the other just uplift the other one. come on? you've given around 30+ seconds just to stress how wrong the surface book's charging port is when you yourself have already said that you can just plug it the other way. not to mention how "apple could not have done such a thing". wow. I've never heard a windows user ever belittle such a windows product. you're as worse as the apple fanboys at The Verge. for shame. just go stick to photography related content. you failed miserably at this.
+Jeus Lau So sensitive. You guys give Windows users a bad name. He was very fair. I have actually used both computers and everything he said is spot on. I guess the scratching on the glass was also staged. *rolleyes*

People like you are the reason why Windows OEMs ignore all the details and make Shit laptops... Attention to detail is what Apple is best at and Microsoft is trying to do that too. Stop bitching.
Who compares an alienware gaming laptop to an ultrabook? Also dell xps, lenovo, asus, razer just to name a couple of brands they all have a high end ultrabook
+Eric Cheng MBP 15 has physical quad-core processor while MBP 13 and SB only dual-core physical processor. Of course there is difference in term of performance. Comparing MBP 13 and SB is fairer than comparing MBP 15 and SB (which is 13inch with dual-core cpu with/without dGPU)
Here is the benchmarks and technical compare against the MBP13 inch. www.pcworld.com/article/2995599/laptop-computers/surface-book-vs-macbook-pro-it-isnt-twice-as-fast-its-three-times-as-fast.html Just in 2 aspects SB won GPU and price, the GPU in this thing is a monster but when you see the price tag and the benchmarks the MacBook is the winner by far, why MS did tell that is twice as fast that is a freaking lie, PC world tried to make look good the surface but they put the numbers and everything fell apart.
+Eric Cheng microsoft said in their presentation that they can make the top of the line MBP run for their money and thats a lot considering how OS X makes really good benchmarks.
***** The 15" is the top of the line in performance there is a big difference between the 13 " and 15 " on performance, they are built equally though. I don't get why so much anger haha, the surface book is still very good and it's the first try so it will improve a lot.
lol i don't understand what you really want, a solid and heavy or a featherweight and hollow feel.. but i noticed that which one you promoting. for all the watchers considering to get surface / macbook, the rest of the video is comparing the surface vs all other brands windows laptops. so don't bother, if you like apple products just buy.
On iPad comparison, one of the key reasons I prefer a 2 in 1 to a tablet is that I don't have to "hold" an iPad. To me it gets heavy and awkward if you keep holding an iPad through a plane ride for example. The tent or a stand mode in a 2 in 1 laptop gives you a big advantage - the screen is closer than a laptop and yet you don't have hold it. That is how I would use a Surface book
most of my older teachers use macbooks and it feels decent but nothing special.. can you use windows on a macbook without any downsides with bootcamp? That would make it more usable, i wonder what the performance would be
+Keith Gash just bought a surface book, those flaws are not even real its very easy for a remotely educated person to fix. as far as im aware by now all the problems have been fixed
I must say that this is a very well researched review. The comparisons that you seem very valid and very factual. Here are my two cents to the review - 1. Materials: You mentioned how metally MBP feels when compared to SB. I agree with the comparison. However, I believe that the Magnesium alloy is a careful design choice. My surface pro, which uses the same alloy and has been abused over a year, and is out in the bare open barely has a scratch while my iphone 6 plus (which uses the same Al) has multiple scratched despite being in a case 98% of the time. Hence, the mg allow in my opinion is a better choice. 2. Keyboard - I think that the keyboards are very similar. I have used both and I can say that the Surface book seemed very similar if not better. The keys were perfectly spaced. Similarly, with the trackpads (I have not tried the force touch, but have tried the previous ones). Now, if MSFT can make a 13 inch hybrid keyboard similar to that of a 13/15 inch MBP then I would give MSFT a thumbs up. Hence, overall while MSFT make some design compromises while making this since they wanted a PC + tablet, I would conclude they definitely have done some things better, some things that have similar performance, while making some compromises that give us additional advantages. Overall, you get an extremely good laptop that has some really impressive note taking abilities.
to be honest, this review was so not helpful I really thought that you're trying to sell apple products, by smashing your alienware laptop onto the surface book It was already decided how you not like it.
The surface book 2 is the same as the first surface book except for the 'performance base'. I would still never pay that much money for a laptop with a dual core CPU
So an Alienware is an Ideal windows laptop? And who use Alienware as their work machine! It's primary purpose is gaming not to take it in a coffee shop.
+Mukhlisur “Mahbub” Rahman Processing and GPU power work for video games and video editing.
+Fstoppers Look at the new Dell XPS 15, should be perfectly fit your needs...
"Apple wouldn't put the charger in this odd position"... You're talking about the people who put the charging port BELLOW the magic mouse
my old magic mouse use batteries, much better... i never have to put this on the trash because a baterry gets old
btw, the old macbooks with magsafe 1 has a cable exactly like this on the surface...
wtf? The 1 and 2 magic mouse its the SAME piece, the only difference it's the battery, the 1 uses AA batterys, the 2 use a inner battery...
HA....... those fucking idiots
+Ankush Girotra agreed
I'd like to see a Photographers review of the surface book. As a Macbook Air user I pre-ordered a Surface Book so I could get more functionality out of Lightroom and Photoshop. I like the touchscreen and pen input to get more fine detail while editing masks, selective adjustments, etc.
Just watch a Surface Pro video, same experience or a ThinkPad Yoga 14 to see what's it like with Nvidia 940m GPU as it's the same kind of setup.
"Apple wouldn't done that". But makes a mouse with the charging connector at the botton. Both Companies makes wired stuff. XD
1800 Alienware users disliked this video
the maker is an alienware user.
+Aditya Singh And he shittalks it constantly, hence the dislikes.
+Jakob Kristensen yeah
Aditya Singh I am pointing out you didn't get the point of R Yokoe's comment.
+R Yokoe No this guy has no technical knowledge....thats why
I don't understand why this video has so many dislikes. I'm a graphic designer and how things look and feel is very important to me. So I really appreciated this review!
+Edwin Contreras If you value this review you don't know anything about computers
+Edwin Contreras would you the surface book I honestly think it doesnt offer enough power for its cost.
Brendan Reilly I use computers for my work and I've built my desktop computer. So what are you talking about?
This video was only about build quality. The 13 inch version is the exact same build quality.
Here is how I understood the first 3 minutes of the video, taken word for word from the video, in chronological order:
"Apple products are absolutely gorgeous, they seem perfect to me."
"It's like the most beautiful electronic hardware there is available." You were talking about Apple hardware here.
"Every time I pick up a Windows laptop, no matter who has made it, it feels so cheap and crappy. There's no joy in using a Windows laptop."
And then for some unknown reason, in an MacBook Pro vs. It's really ridiculous."
"I am going to be as unbiased as I can possibly be." This was quickly followed by "I am here to admit that I have never seen a laptop come close to an Apple laptop in terms of the design and skill and the amount of effort that went into actually creating it."
That's the first 3 minutes of an "unbiased" comparison.
And no the Surface Book is definitely a laptop (with a snap out feature) so he can compare it, he didn't compare the Macbook with Surface Pro.
is it weird that i stare at my tower in awe sometimes? probably because I built it
*assembled
+Careet Marchewka nah I spelled it right.
+stevenan93 you speak the language of my people. It's not weird at all. The one that you built is the most beautiful one
Killin' it.
+stevenan93 no... the most weird thing is that a dumb-ass is comparing laptops OMG!
i don't understand the hate, he is bringing up the day to day experience. These tiny design elements is what makes me love the macbook
Pete Jskksk me too bro, this guy is actually quite bias in some way, but all the other guys commenting are fanboys i think, they criticize everything, they don't get the main idea of the video creator
>Picks up the Surface Book and SHAKES it "see, it vibrates"
>Holds the Macbook with his hand while he pokes it "solid!"
Yeah!>Puts alienware on the surface book and make some scratches on it...
Bagel Burger i noticed it too
not sure if it is the case, but i heard that one of the connectors on the "tablet" is the same as that of the power cable. Maybe you can power the "tablet" directly with the cable? (might be where the tablet connects with the dock)
+Jeffrey Syang Yep. It is using Surface Pro ports, therefore you can charge it directly
4 squares or something....nop, I'm not feeling it"
Bias, anyone??
Nope, just keeping it real
Ah, thats because is not a window, is just a Microsoft logo, just what you say, four squares xDD so...
look, this is the Microsoft logo upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/96/Microsoft_logo_(2012).svg/2000px-Microsoft_logo_(2012).svg.png (four squares of different colors)
and this is the Windows logo betanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/win-10-logo.png (actually a window)
***** Nope see the Microsoft logo again, the red square is Office, the blue square is Windows, the Green square is Xbox, and the yellow square is Bing (nobody uses xd)
Nailed it! :D
bro i used bing and i love it.
It's totally dumb to pull out a gaming laptop as a representative of a typical Windows laptop. How about Dell XPS 13?
Of,o,r
I used my Surface Book on a very bumpy two-hour train journey yesterday. No problem with screen vibrations at all.
SO MUCH BIAS
yeh such a hater.
White background, white American Apparel shirt... this guy is an Apple fanboy for sure...
True dat, I heard dat
Great observation on the hinge scratching the table.
yes that would be a deal breaker for me. seriously, how did they actually think that was acceptable?
I'm actually still shocked about that. I thought the hinge had obviously a rubberized shell on it.
+Daan Jordens How the fuck is that even relevant? How did this pass Microsoft QC? Or maybe they never had QC to begin with.
***** do you superglue your laptop on the table or something? Or you are just being silly?? Of course the laptop moves. It moves all the time.
*****
Think about this, if you don't move, you still scratch the table (depending on surface).
+JULIUS K You must be on crack if you think this video is unbiased -- look at his other videos.
Then when the clipboard is detached with a full core i7 processor, which the MacBook Pro can't do, it is suddenly too light (too light?), then when reattached with the screen facing another way, it's too heavy and isn't as light as (no, not the Macbook Pro now), believe or not, now he chose to compare it to an iPad.
i like how this is microsoft's first laptop and they got so much right. There's still improvement just like with apples first laptop.
+Intech36 you bet
+Intech36 Or the 1st surface pro vs the 3rd one. Night and day. The future is exciting for this product.
Kinda like how Apple just walks into the smart watch market and gets a lot right
alien ware is a gaming laptop not a work laptop that's why it's so thick
Razer blade bro
+John Hanson oh wow never knew that
andrew byi hope it helps. if you have any questions feel free to ask!
+John Hanson I've never owned an Apple product, and hope to never own one lol But I need a laptop to do homework (in university currently), so I was wondering what you would reccomend. I'm not adverse to building one, too. You seem knowledgeable about computers :)
Try a razer blade.
Personal preference and saving money for what one deems to be a worthwhile purchase usually skirts that issue. My statement was based on a subjective and anecdotal opinion. I suggested to try a razer blade. I'm not forcing this youtube channel to get one and you are most certainly entitled to your opinion.
*One of.
+Uk Except for the macbook pro...
+Uk Not compared to the MBP...
Here lets give you a comparison:
Razer Blade:
Screen Size14 inches
Screen Resolution3200 x 1800
Max Screen Resolution3200 x 1800 pixels
Processor2.2 GHz Core i7-4702HQ
RAM8 GB DDR3L SDRAM
Memory Speed1600 MHz
Hard Drive512 GB flash_memory_solid_state
Graphics CoprocessorNvida GeForce 870MGraphics Card
Ram Size2000 MB
Number of USB 3.0 Ports3
MBP:
Screen Size: 15 inches
Screen resolution: 1280 x 800
Processor: 2.2 GHz Core i7 Quad Core
RAM: 16GB DDR3 SDRAM
Memory Speed: 1600 MHz
Hard Drive: 256 GB Flash Storage
Graphics: Intel Iris integrated graphics/AMD Radeon R9
Ports: 2 USB 3
Oh and both are prices right around $2000.
Some things where the Blade falls short compared to the MBP:
- The screen hinge isn't nearly as well balanced. You can open the MBP with a single finger. Not so on the blade.
- The screen wobbles when you touch it, or move the laptop around. Not so with the MBP (though it lacks a touchscreen)
- The screen on the Blade might be higher resolution, but it doesn't look nearly as good. It also doesn't dim all the way down, and doesn't go as bright.
- The screen on the Blade is waaaay more reflective than that of the MBP
- There is flex to the body of the laptop with the Blade that the MBP doesn't have. The MBP is rigid and a lot more sturdy
- The trackpad of the Blade sucks in comparison to the trackpad on the MBP. The buttons especially.
- The MBP has fuller, better sound
- Battery life is mediocre at best, and way behind compared to the MBP
Sure, the Blade boasts a much better graphics card and is fantastic for gaming.
It also has a fantastic screen and a smaller footprint with the same specs.
you cant get a real review from a apple fanboy!!
totally agree
Jordan Clark hahahaha am already planning on getting one and they are just on sale because they have some left and the new model is arriving soon...
"Doesn't feel like something apple would do" 11:34 ... sooooo we're just not gonna talk about the new magic mouse then ...
+Retro radio I was looking for this comment.. Thank you so much Sir..
+Azzan Qais AL-Kindy me too
+Maurice CHONG That is exactly what I was thinking of.
+Retro radio and lets not forget that that is the exact same problem the users of the previous charger had, it had the same design as the surface charger and it would block a ethernet, and maybe the firewire port asswell if you didnt stick it in a specific way
"This magnesium feels cheap" I never in my life thought I would hear those words, research would have helped this video
+Lasoo HD yes, i thought the same when using the indicator in bugatti :|
Does Microsoft Surface Book have five+ finger multitouch?
If so I'm buying it
Yes
Yes
Surface Pro 4 also has it. Screen has a 10 finger touch.
anil kumar motupalli ya it's the same for the surface book.
I have actually used a macbook where the power cable blocks other ports in one direction.
At the start you said you bought the MBP, then you changed your words later one. Which is it?
Later on*
"Its incredible that its light, but it feels cheap." Bro come on, you cant seriously come up with an honest complaint about that giant ass tablet being light. Thats an incredible benefit no matter what.
That seems like a valid argument though. Just because something is light does not mean it's build quality is high, there are many ultra books out in the wild made entirely out of plastic, sure they all weight as much as a feather but there feel in the hand is not good.
+Gage Groff LG used magnesium to make their laptop ultra light, does that mean it's cheap?
Nick Bomar does feel cheap
Drunk Meerkat yes it does feel cheap.
Gage Groff How does it feel cheap? It doesn't feel like plastic at all.
But Apple has set a very high standard in terms of design and build quality to the very small details
idk what to think about this video but i do like this guys opinions
This guy just like the rest of applesheeps buying Apple products for the look. This is my first comment,
+Jack Wu Nope, he's never owned an Apple computer. It's a testament to Apple design that he has that sense of wonder on his first review of it.
Not for the look, for the seamless experience
+Jack Wu or maybe once you buy a macbook you don't have to buy another for 5 years
+Jordan Clark just like any other computer if you take care of it..
"A little bit of vibration *lightly shakes MacBook*, but is nothing compared to the surface pro *violently shakes the screen with all his strength*"
Yeah, buddy, totally legiit comparison. :D
Have you considered having a look at the new Dell XPS 15 looks to be an amazing laptop from the specs and its around the same price as these two!
+Glen Thomson I'll have to check it out. We have an older one an it has so many issues. We hate it.
Such a typical Apple Fanboy. Who believe him when he said he is a Windows user?
This review is not biased at all.. dude even complained about the surface book being light.. what? Then he proceeded to complain that it's heavier when switched backwards. Do you even gravity? And since when did macs become the standard specifications for laptops? Not to mention you're comparing two totally different products.
Surface pro 4- the best laptop or tablet in the world. Period.
why so many thumbs down? he didn't even say anything that polarizing and was true to his word in that he was unbiased... salty people with alienware laptops?
+chill dog I know, I think it's weird
I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. It's perfect for me, but I understand that there are things people love about Windows PCs too.
All I learned from this video is that I love the sound of someone typing on a keyboard
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
2042Third Tablet, not laptop
You can get an equivalent ThinkPad for less.
+Stan V Still it's a design point that wouldn't have gotten by Apple. They are fanatical about these kind of things.
***** Except they built a laptop that if you plug in the charging port it covers every single other port in the laptop. Yeah... Nothing gets by Apple.
On the macbook pro 15 (2010 to 2012), if you have the L-shape power adapter you have the same problem of blocking the port.
Too light, makes it feel cheap?? Wow
If apple makes a lighter machine.... then "Wow!!! Apple has made a lighter machine for this performance is incredible!!!!"
Siva R right?!
the bias is real.
U forgot the damm pen that comes with the surface series
Why did you remove the Speed tests ?
We didn't. It's another video on our channel
one of the best and detailed reviews what i have seen! Thank you!
lmao !
Notice how important vertical screen space is when it comes to laptops, Multitasking with a tablet display is way more productive than a wide-screen
is that Ashton Kutcher??
This guy hates Alienware so much and he still went ahead and bought it without even knowing that it's meant for gaming. What kind of people do y'all bring for reviews? Fire this fool
I still can't believe this guy will compare an Alienware to MacBook. and thinking that Alienware is a typical windows laptop.
This is not a conversation about whats better, it's an analysis on the design philosophies of both products. A very good entertaining watch, while staying pretty unbiased. Anyone here looking for differences between feeds and speeds is watching the wrong video
hey man, amazing review and vs... just perfect, every single hardware detail description was incredible. Congrats. Cheers
Todays Macbook:
1 Doesn't have magnetic charger
2 Battery life shorter than Surface book
3 Doesn't have SD card
Alienware is "Gaming Laptop", something that a MacBook can't handle. It probably needs a lot of airflow, unlike a non-game MacBook.
when fanboy makes review it becomes stupid
Dude his not a fanboy of Apple he said in the video he never use Apple laptops!
Don't run away from the fact that he's honest. And to be honest, you seem to be insecure that Apple have beaten Microsoft. This dude's just saying what he feels
+Patrick Ambrose Anyone that says anything at all positive about Apple ever is a fanboy. That's the circle jerk nowadays.
I totally agree with JeefCakes
+THEsWaggyDOgE u mad? apple beaten Microsoft? I forgot fanboy in the area
And one more thing... They're THUNDERBOLT ports not lightning ports.
11:09 Yeah... apple wouldn't have done that, (cough) macbook 2015 (cough) , they just give you one port.
+Anuxo I'm not saying the macbook 2015 sucks, i'm just saying it lacks another port. Probably you are right and in the future everything will be done in the cloud but, unfortunately we are living in the present.
Compare surface book with mac book, its almost like surface book vs apple inc
One of the reasons I love this guy is his honesty. And a lot of people will hate you for that.
11:00 I think i understand that decision. They had to make the charger to be put either way because if you put it the way it blocks the mini display port but its more organized cause the wire goes along the laptop.
When themini display is needed, flip the charger
Lol so many people arguing about Apple vs Microsoft.
Here I am with my gaming PC and my uni macbook just loving both of them.
Stop that! You can only like one! haha
Teorus Firre one ring to rule it all. why lug two? when a surface book can do it all. P.S. you can charge the tablet form with an external battery. but the you need to lug the battery
Robin Tan Can't drag my gaming pc to uni every day haha. I though about a surface, but Mac is the go to OS for graphic designers.
Robin Tan I guess it's just personal preference, I working on my macbook and play Overwatch on my PC haha.
0:08 "I've just bought it" (the MBP)
0:30 "I've never owned an Apple computer in my entire life" (LOL)
2:22 "thicker than my iPad."
21:00 "my iPhone"
So, you have a MBP, an iPad, an iPhone, and you clearly stated those are the best of the best in their respective fields.
I already knew which laptop he was picking 2 seconds in..smh
This is my first time in my life seing someone bring along his huge thick alianware gaming laptop as working tools. Why not just use workstation laptop like from hp or msi etc etc. Or macbook pro.....
why so many dislikes? dont understand
Trevor Foster exactly! you don't understand technology like the reviewer that's why you won't understand the dislikes.
Of course , but here we don't talk technology , he speak about build quality . i have to say i'm a mac AND a windows user .
Hey I have few questions:-
How is the 10 finger touch screen experience of MacBook pro? Can you scratch MBP's screen and tell me.
Clearly you are dumb. In a comparison he should compare everything. When he is comparing screens he should compare everything related to screen. Did you forgot to go to school?
Anil it's "Did you FORGET to go to school not FORGOT so who didn't go school now?
Yeah talk about spelling mistakes when you can't prove what I said was false
STFU
I know you got angry because you know you were wrong and you are unable to accept that.
I guess someone has already brought it up, you can charge the "Clip board" with your power cable from the bottom side where the tablet attach to the keyboard base.
Great video, unbiased and clear, I do enjoy it a lot, thanks.
So this is what an Apple shill sounds like. Died laughing iPhones can compete with a $3000 DSLR camera with $2000 lens
+ChilledRedux Except he openly admitted to not owning a Macbook.
A FULL FLEDGED WINDOWS TABLET THAT IS TOO F*CKING LIGHT? TOO LIGHT?
everything that the surface does better than the Mac is a tie , that's convenient..this is really bs ..
5,000 likes are those who can afford MacBook and 5,000 dislikes are those who cannot.
+Eric Cheng apple fanboy :)
the surface book isn´t aluminum, it is magnesium
Who compares an alienware gaming laptop to an ultrabook? Also dell xps, lenovo, asus, razer just to name a couple of brands they all have a high end ultrabook
I like the way he did the review, because in real life, before buying a unit, that is mostly how you check the device/gadget.
Tell me, buy MacBook Pro 15 inch with the Amd Radeon 2015 or wait for the 2016 version
y compare 15" to 12.5" Surface Book ? use 13"
#fail
+Eric Cheng MBP 15 has physical quad-core processor while MBP 13 and SB only dual-core physical processor. Of course there is difference in term of performance. Comparing MBP 13 and SB is fairer than comparing MBP 15 and SB (which is 13inch with dual-core cpu with/without dGPU)
Here is the benchmarks and technical compare against the MBP13 inch. www.pcworld.com/article/2995599/laptop-computers/surface-book-vs-macbook-pro-it-isnt-twice-as-fast-its-three-times-as-fast.html
Just in 2 aspects SB won GPU and price, the GPU in this thing is a monster but when you see the price tag and the benchmarks the MacBook is the winner by far, why MS did tell that is twice as fast that is a freaking lie, PC world tried to make look good the surface but they put the numbers and everything fell apart.
+Eric Cheng He also compared the speakers. The 15 MBP speakers is not the same as the 13 MBP.
"Apple would not do something like fuck up a port" Man, you self from the past must be very disappointed with 2016 macbook hahaha
lol i don't understand what you really want, a solid and heavy or a featherweight and hollow feel.. but i noticed that which one you promoting.
for all the watchers considering to get surface / macbook, the rest of the video is comparing the surface vs all other brands windows laptops. so don't bother, if you like apple products just buy.
This guy might as well marry the apple macbook
On iPad comparison, one of the key reasons I prefer a 2 in 1 to a tablet is that I don't have to "hold" an iPad. To me it gets heavy and awkward if you keep holding an iPad through a plane ride for example. The tent or a stand mode in a 2 in 1 laptop gives you a big advantage - the screen is closer than a laptop and yet you don't have hold it. That is how I would use a Surface book
this has got to be one of the most stupid "comparison review" I have ever seen. Can someone say biased much!
This guy is a Apple fanboy disguised as a dedicated PC user. Owns iPad and iPhone but never going to buy Macbook, really?
macbook looks kinda cheap next to the surface book
+Jesus Christ see a macbook in person and hold it i promise you it doesn't feel nor look cheap
most of my older teachers use macbooks and it feels decent but nothing special.. can you use windows on a macbook without any downsides with bootcamp? That would make it more usable, i wonder what the performance would be
without flaws you dont learn anything right?
+Jesus Christ To answer your question, yes. I am sending this to you on my macbook running windows.
+Keith Gash just bought a surface book, those flaws are not even real its very easy for a remotely educated person to fix. as far as im aware by now all the problems have been fixed
I must say that this is a very well researched review. The comparisons that you seem very valid and very factual. Here are my two cents to the review -
Alienware is classic. You have no clue. It's a gaming powerhouse with a powerful look. Thinness is not always beautiful.
+shanmugasundaram umashankar I was thinking of the same thing. Alienware can do things both these can't do combined.
+shanmugasundaram umashankar Totally agree:)
+shanmugasundaram umashankar Agree, but it's still ugly as fuck lol.
This is my favorite cringe compilation, thanks uploader
to be honest, this review was so not helpful I really thought that you're trying to sell apple products, by smashing your alienware laptop onto the surface book It was already decided how you not like it.
Very different and well executed approach on two very discussed devices. You won a new sub just now ☺️
Watching this guy appreciate the craftsmanship of these ultra-books is like watching a connoisseur enjoy a fine wine.
the first laptop's ever made by Microsoft vs The 20th (maybe) laptop's made by Apple , it's just unfair :))
I also think the same.. No one has made their first product like this perfect.. And now we have surface studio and Book 2..
The surface book 2 is the same as the first surface book except for the 'performance base'. I would still never pay that much money for a laptop with a dual core CPU
