You can also resample your drums or samples and exchange that pad to the pad you used in the sequence to add fx to a single pad, then go back and add fx to all the pads if you wish.
i was going to comment this as well then i read this comment. pattern sequencer records “pads” (like midi notes) so it’s possible to exchange a resampled (wih fx) pad with the original one that’s been used in the sequence
So helpful! Thanks a lot. Love the SP it`s an amazing instrument. For me it`s not either or, it`s the combination of resampling and the pattern sequencer. Use the whole potential of this machine and you`ll be happy.
pattern sequencer is a beast. under utilized imo. if you have another device (laptop ,other sampler, multitrack recorder, etc) it becomes super powerful.
Take a look at your samples man, they are probably in stereo. If thats the case, the SP gets funny with resampling. Try making sure all your drum sounds are mono for a start, you can resample up to 4 mono pads I think. It can be tiresome building beats with resample because you might have to do each drum part per resample until you get the full beat down if that makes sense. That's why I always bounce to another device it a lot easier and quicker.
HI there and thanks for your content!!! I wanted to ask youif there is any way to resample a whole banck into another one, after having applied all th FX i need to the first banck. Thanks man
thanks for the video. sometimes my sp seems to get locked into using one of the 24 mfx effects when i want to use the 'regular' mfx. how do you get back to the 'regular' mfx, that is the mfx effect which doesnt use the 24 listed effects
hey man, i'm not sure what you mean here. what do you mean by the regular MFX? Do you mean the 5 other buttons at the top? I've never had any problems with it getting stuck, I would simply press one of the other buttons at the top to use those. If in doubt maybe just turn the machine off and on again.
Just play the patterns while you record out of the back at the same time, either into a handheld recorder or a computer if you have an audio interface!
Just finish the beat on the SP then go phono into your computer using an interface and record that way. I record all mine into ableton usually playing the beat live. There will be a drum loop on one pad then Ill play the samples live. I'll do a vid on this next week as its a good question!
it's crazy that is not possible to resample a Pattern! what a bummer! Can anyone please develop a Software Update, kind of like JJOS did ? Anyone? Please!!!!😩
Yeah you can on the Mk2 now but that is such an annoyance on the sx/a. You could externally record with another device and record them back in that’s one option 👍

Nice man will have to take a look at that!

Yeah need to look at it more definitely. Thanks for the comment man!
Interesting one... 🤔
honestly ive never tried using the pattern sequencer, been doing resample the whole time
Same man yeah I don't touch it at all. Much prefer resample!
I think my sp is broken.....when I resample , as soon as I get to half way through my second layer everything cuts out

I used resample at first but then I started using it and it makes a huge difference for me especially when sampling
was thinking about this lately👍
Cool! Hope the video helped :)
That was tight bro 😎
Thanks man. Appreciate it 🙌
Yo man,thank yo so much!!!!
THANKS

Hey man, no you can't resample entire banks, you can exchange pads, and resample to other bank or copy pads too but you'd have to do it one at a time.
Thank you so much!!!

How can I record a live session using the pattern sequencer? regards !

ive got a question, if i made a track in my sp how would i get that onto my computer? great video btw!
