- Today I'm Checking on the Girls because they had swarmed. So lets see if they did and how many cells they left us.
Hi, we are Matt & Sara. Along with our 4 kids, our dog, our cat, 4 pigs, a lot of chickens and even more bees we have been developing our homesteading lifestyle. After over a decade on our property we are finally debt free and using our new FREEDOM to do what we have always wanted to do (be more self reliant)!

Waiting for my first nuc of bees. First time beekeeper. So excited and nervous.
Congrats you will love it.
Time to grow buddy, I can hear a smile.😁Matt's got more🐝's.🎉🥳🎉
They are going to take off great with all that nice drawn comb 😁and great time of year for splits. 😁 Just keep that 1 colony strong and make a little honey with them while all the rest grow for Winter. Have a great evening Matt and Family.
🤨This is good, this channel has been lacking in bee videos lately.😂
Thanks DC.
Matt has bees again - lots of bees!! LOL Your bees are so gentle - hope the virgins come back strong and well mated.
You spoke about bring the old queen back to the hive later - how will you do that? Newspaper combine or a queen cage? I am glad that you made some strong splits. You should have plenty of time to get them ready for winter. Thanks for the video Matt, I hope you/we can get a nice rain this weekend. Getting dry here in MN.
I have found in the past if I do it within 2 to 3 days just release her in the hive they except her right away but it’s been too late and I didn’t have the time to do it three days so I’m going to leave them as a split. Yes we need rain.
Well, if anything, you're re-building all the hives you lost! I hope it all goes well!
Absolutely 😃🤷♂️ I hope it does
That’s how you expand an apiary, good luck with all of them
😃
Well Geuss who decided to make a video sweet video
😁
Matt you are invited to come here next Wednesday 10:00am. Russel Kooperman, and 2 of our Hives for Heroes Vets will be here. With any luck we will be seeing Troy our commercial beekeeper, looking in on his queen rearing. And a possibility of visiting Mr. VonVett at his local wood-mill. You have my number.
Dang Mike if I would’ve known sooner I could’ve made that work. Unfortunately I made plans that day this morning.
Bee's Really. Seem to be a pain in the you know what?
😆 they can bee 🐝
first!
That’s how you expand an apiary, good luck with all of them
Thanks 😃
