Key take-away for me: no kids. Lol.
What a fantastic rig. Clear a huge amount of thought and real life experience has gone into the build!

Absolutely! I love unique setups like this, built carefully and purposefully to suit the owners. 😁

Shame they had such bad luck just a few days later, when their engine blew. They met some lovely people, and one new engine later they are now back on the road. It’s a great rig 👍

I absolutely love foreign built cars. Things like the chassis toolboxes is just something so different & unique to what we see everyday here in Aus.

As per the other comments this vehicle had a catastrophic engine failure shortly after this video was filmed.
I talked directly to the nice couple who own it. Unfortunately they fell into the trap of modifying the engine with an EGR delete and ECM “tune”. Not long after these were done the engine failed.
Please understand I have no agenda. I only want to see people have a great time in their vehicles and stay safe in remote parts of the world. I am a professional 4WD builder and fleet maintenance manager (mining & industrial), and this vehicle has every alarm bell ringing when it comes to endurance and reliability. Never muck around with the Ford Puma engine, it’s a poor choice for a worldwide overland trip in the first place, let alone if you’ve fiddled with it.
Land Rover is a difficult vehicle to love because they are so prone to breakdown. You really need to spend several years debugging a Land Rover on short trips before you can fully trust it. They are very expensive vehicles to maintain and modify to be reliable for this kind of expedition. Pains me to say that because I grew up with them in the 80s, but they were terrible then and nothing has really improved!

I prefer Mickey Thompson baja tires , as you know tires are weight rated as many other features, I wonder the manufacturer weight limit with all these add on and gear , I own many overland builds my 05 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon LJ has a 3500 rating with 800 gear & passenger total 4600 pounds with all my add on im now 5800 that's 1200 over manufacturer gross weight limit , I added a supercharger to my 4.0 in summer my jeep over heats due to weight I removed my roof top tent to light up some , im not hating anyone build but being too head can have many issues

Thank you for sharing this well thought out vehicle!
Many great ideas to be taken from this! Some I already have, like the rear camera for example.
My last two vehicles were very hard to see what's going on behind until I fitted cameras and I doubt I'd ever go without again!
