Found this week’s question in an AMA from a few months ago, it’s great looking back on this now after finally being able to go into business for myself full time. Persistence and hard work can and will pay off, keep working hard everybody!
*Struggling new business starter right here! Nice to hear from people who are travelling, or has travelled the same path I am going on. Yea its my 1st 9 months of going full time on my business, its not pretty, its underperforming way below what I had expected. BUT, I have never felt that I had wasted a single day of the past 9 months. Every day is a learning curve for me. The small successes that I have experienced so far bring so much joy and encouragement to me that I will keep persisting till I make it.
I'm in a pretty similar boat to you getting things started myself! I've been lucky enough to have a few great jobs over the past few months but income is much lighter than expected at this point. Learning a ton though and making some great connections in the meantime; it's so great to hear from someone looking at it positively like I try to. New day and a new challenge, keep up the good work!
Exactly. I like that the trend is now toward the stark reality of how hard it can be to start and run your own business. Example: Gary V. I have done that for 30 years as of this year and it has had ups and downs, both financially and lifestyle-wise. It took it's toll on a marriage, my health, and so much more. I can't say its ever been easy, but I have had a couple of "real jobs" (LOL) during that time and 9 to 5 truly kills my soul, so I have to roll with the punches if I want to have this freedom to do the life I want. I will never be rich, but I don't answer to anyone else (besides the bank). There's a lot to be said for taking a Wednesday afternoon off for no good reason other than that I want to.
So great to hear your perspective after being a bit further down the path than I am, I totally understand what you're saying! The longer time went with my in 'regular' jobs the more I realized none of them were ever going to leave me fulfilled or happy compared to working on my own projects. After 10 years of side-hustling and trying to make it work on my own it feels so good to finally be full time with what I want to be doing. Even though things have and will continue to be stressful and difficult at times, the freedom in exchange makes it all worth it. Appreciate the support and insight on this one!
He's great! The intensity can be a bit much for someone that hasn't seen him before but once you adjust there's so much invaluable info on his channel from the past few years. Seeing him change and grow since his small wine show he used to do has been so cool, he really practices what he preaches and that's so few and far between these days. Thanks for the support as always!! :)
