몇달 전에 밴쿠버에 놀러 와서 우연하게 봤어요! 보스톤에 있는 버클리 음대 합격해서 공부한다네요 프로듀싱도 공부할 계획이고요! 달라스에 한 라디오 방송국에서 기타치고 노래하는데 기타 실력도 더 늘고 특히 노래가 많이 늘었습니다! 톤도 완전 안정적이고 훨씬 더 매력적으로 바뀌었습니다! 당장 여성 싱어송 라이터로 데뷔해도 음악성을 포함해서 새로운 센세이션을 일으킬 것 같네요! 밑에 댓글 보니 개인 유튜브 개설했네요! 와우~~! 곧 음원도 나오기를 기대합니다!

This girl is an exceptional guitar player. She's waaaaay better than Sam Kim when he first appeared on Kpop Star. She's also using some of the same techniques used to play John Mayer's Neon. If you haven't heard Neon, it's not an easy song to play.
I don't speak or understand the Korean language, but how she sang and and played that guitar with that exquisite smile and personality, translates into talent and artistry in any language!! She drew me in with her wonderful energy!!

Now this is what Korea needs! Finally, a variation to their pop music culture. What a talent! Pure outstanding vocal & musical talent. This will appeal worldwide and we need more vocal stylings such as this. Bravo! 👏🏼
That's what a true artist sounds like right there, unique husky vocals, percussive fingerstyle guitaring one of the toughest things to do while singing and maintaining the tempo and tune. No doubt there that she is inspired by the legend Tommy Emmanuel. This is an artist that the world needs to hear.
Beyond comparing guitar skills (between her and Sam), I think she's better than Sam Kim because she can sing Korean. How many of the contestants were good but their Korean language skills were barely passable? Especially since so many of them sound different when they sing from English to Korean. But her tone is the same, regardless of language. And she has epic guitar skills. That alone deserves applause. And honestly, so many contestants on Kpop Star have covered "Honey". She's the only one with clear musical differences in her rendition. While she fits company wise to Antenna's image, I don't think she matches that well to the people? From what we've seen so far, she could fit into JYP's as well. (In terms of music choices and things.) And I really really really don't think her style matches with Sam Kim. I don't think their tones work well together. Maybe they do? Maybe they don't. We'll see in the following episodes~ (This episode was so much better than the second one!!)
I say beyond because I'm not a guitar music professional. It seems to come down to stylistic preferences at this point if you need to choose between the two of them.
She has this passion for music, that's where her talent comes from somehow. With that I mean, you see that she plays it and enjoys it to the fullest, instead of just playing "technically" and doing "incredibly well", she plays the guitar passionately and sings as she likes, that's something many people lose as they learn or "grow". She really drags you into her when she's singing. Hope she keeps enjoying it for a long long time~

Beyond comparing guitar skills (between her and Sam), I think she's better than Sam Kim because she can sing Korean. How many of the contestants were good but their Korean language skills were barely passable? Especially since so many of them sound different when they sing from English to Korean. But her tone is the same, regardless of language. And she has epic guitar skills. That alone deserves applause.
And honestly, so many contestants on Kpop Star have covered "Honey". She's the only one with clear musical differences in her rendition. While she fits company wise to Antenna's image, I don't think she matches that well to the people? From what we've seen so far, she could fit into JYP's as well. (In terms of music choices and things.)
And I really really really don't think her style matches with Sam Kim. I don't think their tones work well together. Maybe they do? Maybe they don't. We'll see in the following episodes~ (This episode was so much better than the second one!!)
I say beyond because I'm not a guitar music professional. It seems to come down to stylistic preferences at this point if you need to choose between the two of them.
She has this passion for music, that's where her talent comes from somehow. With that I mean, you see that she plays it and enjoys it to the fullest, instead of just playing "technically" and doing "incredibly well", she plays the guitar passionately and sings as she likes, that's something many people lose as they learn or "grow". She really drags you into her when she's singing. Hope she keeps enjoying it for a long long time~
