I don't mind this regression of her character. It makes sense to who she is, but ugh. They better make up for this mess. Like the other characters know she is better than this and should force her to deal with her problems instead of running away and avoiding them like she did when she had a freaking tumor.
Amelia's character is exhausting. But isn't real life. I'm more concerned about the baby, hurt ppl hurt other ppl and when children are created in that environment toxicity is passed down to the next generation.
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Nico tell Schmitt that he already dealt with his own coming out and can’t deal with another one? Why are the writers suddenly forgetting their own plot points?

I already knew something like this would happen. When Nico thought that Levi was afraid to tell his mom about him, his immediate thoughts were because he is 1 gay or 2 Asian. From what we’ve seen he always strives for perfection, can’t make errors, can’t extern his emotions.
I guess he’s under a lot of pressure, and it’s sad to say it but we’ve to think about the fact that his parents are most likely Korean. It must be so difficult to tell them not only that you’re gay, but that you’re also in a relationship with an American Jewish? That’s a lot. I don’t envy him one bit. Also he was so impressed with Levi when he came out to his mom.
Andreil13 Being South Asian myself I understand what you’re saying. I know how judgmental and unaccepting our parents can be. Which makes me feel like Nico should’ve been more sensitive towards Levi. Him wanting Levi to come out and confront his mother was not my problem. My issue was with how he behaved with Levi for it. He literally told Levi that he couldn’t be with someone who couldn’t come to term with their sexuality openly whereas Nico himself had not done that fully. As someone who couldn’t come out to his own parents because of their scrutiny he should’ve treated Levi’s discomfort with coming out with respect instead of making him feel awful about it. I loved the part where he respectfully supported Levi leaving his mother’s house but the way he behaved in the initial stage of their relationship was terrible especially given his own struggles.
@@fareebafaruq3292 I think that the famous argument that led to Levi saying to Nico that he loved him came more from a place of "you're ashamed of being gay"; when Levi explained to him that it had nothing to do with his sexuality but more with the fact that his mom is neurotic (as he said), Nico was totally fine with it.
Nico has come to term with his sexuality, by all means he is out, everybody knows that he's gay, but he knows that he'll lose his parents if he comes out to them.
Or at least that's my take on what happened. I'm not Asian but I live in Japan so I can kinda understand the mentality, kinda.
Obviously we can also all agree that Nico has never been the most sensitive person lol He's pretty straightforward

Yea love is love but Link's whole issue if the baby is Owen's is him getting pushed out of the picture because of course Owen would want to know his child and that whole Owen Teddy and Amelia situation JUST settled down. It's easy to say he shouldn't care when you ignore all the consequences and things that could go sideways. Also just because SHE is the one having the baby doesn't mean HE can't have feelings even if she doesn't agree with him. She can't just say "oh I'm not getting a paternity test because you should love my kid anyways" No as a dr a surgeon no less she should have gotten a check up way sooner and avoided this whole fiasco. I love Amelia and want her and Link to work out but she is being totally unfair to him.

I am a mother and I will say Amelia is unfair to Link. I hope it is only because her hormon. And if they break up official later I hope they will break up in good way, not like this.

Season 17 is gonna be the last.. so I think they're just gonna try to milk him being "away" but not kill him off, kinda just dragging his absence. I think that's why theres been so many station 19 crossovers too, somehow Greys will keep living on. Idk maybe I'm just crazy

There's an article that says that his departure explanation is still a few episodes away. So you'll have to wait for it.
Maybe his phone got stolen or he was kidnapped. They could make him be presumed dead. That would give Justin a chance to return in the series finale, if he wants to.

I understand that Amelia wants to raise the baby with someone who will love it regardless of a test. But Owen and link deserve the truth because the real father deserves a relationship with their child and that child deserves to know their father. It’s selfish of Amelia to not give link and Owen the truth.
See if Amelia was having this conversation with Meredith she would make her get a paternity test. Owen is Meredith friend and she looks out for him too because of Christina and so when she hears about this Amelia will get that paternity test done. This is what happens when you sleep with two men and get pregnant and now you don't know who the father is

Also her hormones, past addictions and years of trauma are making her doubt his love for her and she is protecting herself again but she will ultimately do the right thing. Amelia has no legal leg to stand on all Link has to do is hire an attorney and petition the court for a paternity test. She doesn't have the legal right to just not get a paternity test especially if the potential father is aware of the situation.

Rebekah Segun ameila wasn’t apprehensive about telling him when she found out he might not be the father. She went to tell him the night she found out and she was interrupted by Owen and teddy so she didn’t say anything because she didn’t want to drop a bomb on Owen and teddy since they just had got engaged. She then told link the very next day

I think Amelia’s being selfish. What about what the child would want? How would Amelia feel if she grew up not knowing who her father was? Also, Owen and Link need to know who the father is. I think every man grey's ever introduced us to was hypocritical and sexist in one way or other, they were selfish at times thinking they and their careers come first or that the woman and her wishes weren't just as important as them. Burke was an asshole who wanted cristina but on his own terms, derek was understanding at time but at others he was, manipulative and a complete jerk who didn't think Meredith and her career, or just about any other's were just as important and don't get me started at the way he treated amelia. Alex and mark treated women like sex objects, webber was a jealous bastard with so many one true loves of his life and he cheated or left behind almost all of them and the way he treated adele was aweful. George was a gentle jerk, he took all his crap and insecurities out on others, chasing after meredith, confessing his love to a drunk girl at the lowest of her emotional state and then cried when he didn't get what he wanted, he used callie to cope with his grief, let his friends insult her left and right, made her feel insecure a d told her to her face that 'izzie is like this gorgeous she can't fall in love with me' or something like that. And then cheated on her with izzie, divorced her for izzie and then broke up with izzie because they weren't having the same awesome sex they had the night they cheated. Deluca can not handle his girlfriend being better then him. I do not even want to talk about koracik and owen.
After all that, they brought in link. A bit too flashy in the start but then he turned out to be the most understanding and caring yet so carefree and honest. He's not perfect, he has flaws and fears and he'd seen crap but still loveable. And then they kept screwing him over and over and over again. They made him look cute with meredith in beginning of season 15 and then had her running to the fifteen year old who can't handle himself and not to mention he was going through breakdown because 'the love of his life' left at the end of season 14. Then this crap. Seriously after how he handled her and her behaviours and the pregnancy, they do this?
@@brieoliver There is no such thing as romantic unconditional love. And thank goodness love has its limits. If love did not have limits nobody would ever break up or get divorced. We would remain in bad relationships and be unhappy. Amelia handled this whole situation wrong. If she had given the pregnancy 3 seconds of thought and realized from the beginning she was not sure who the father was Link would look at this from a different perspective. Being in love with someone is not always enough to keep people together. Most break ups are hurtful because the love is still there. But something has happened that someone can't get past. What Amelia did was reckless, irresponsible and unforgivable. Link is not wrong for his feelings or behavior.

Now should she have been going in for consistent sonograms? Sure. But given her first pregnancy and her baby not having a brain, I understood her apprehension. She's done nothing wrong here and Linc is horrible for making her feel that way.
Nico projecting his own issues onto Schmitt in the beginning was an asshole move. But now that Schmitt is so okay with who he is, I think it’s time for Nico to face it and come out too.

Yeah link deserves to know if he’s the father but I get why Amelia was devastated to hear he didn’t know if he could be there anymore if it wasn’t his. Link said he was all in and she loves him so of course she’s upset now that it feels like he was only there for the baby and not her. Eventually she’s gonna have to get a dna test though.

She is so selfish. I would sue her for a paternity test. He deserves a right to know. Forget even being with her. He deserves to know if he has a child. She is being a baby about this because she doesn’t want to know if the child is Owens. If she really wanted someone who didn’t care the dna of her child then she would get it because then it would prove that. Also, it doesn’t make you a bad person to not be able to raise someone else’s baby. Especially with her and Owens history. Honestly, she just does not want to deal with teddy and Owen. And that’s on her for not being able to handle things maturely. Link did the right thing and asked because it does matter. What if that baby has a life threatening condition only he had the ability to donate for? This is just selfish and so unrealistic. As a doctor, she knows the repercussions to act like this is anything but being afraid of having Owen of the father is childish

I actually understand both sides. It’s normal for link to know if the baby is his. But I also understand that amelia just want for her and her baby to be loved unconditionally. Just because a woman is the parent that carries the child doesn’t make the father less important or unworthy. A man has a right and responsibility to any life he helped to create. You can’t hold a child hostage. It’s unfair to the child and it’s shameful of the mother. Take her to court and get a DNA test and legally become a part of the baby’s life. If there is no threat of danger then why on earth would you rob your child of having a father? 😒

Seems like almost no one in this show can be happy, mature or have a healthy relationship.

i hate the fact that they make link seem like a bad guy bc if he “loved” amelia enough he wouldn’t care who the father is. amelia even said herself “idk if i want to be with him if the baby IS his bc love is more important than blood” when he wasn’t sure if he’d be around which is just as bad as him leaving bc it’s not his. no one seems to say anything about how she’s willing to leave him if he doesn’t accept the baby without the results when he has a right to know. amelia said she wasn’t sure about getting into a relationship with link so he waited for her until she wanted one and then announced she was pregnant and he was also there for her but as soon as he has second thoughts she tries to cut him off in a heartbeat bc he “doesn’t love her enough”?? wow. and her taking her time with getting the results was just selfish
I feel like I’m about to stop watching this show because link and Amelia was my favorite couple they was the whole reason I was looking forward to this show and now they going through they should have just let them be happy🙌🏾

Keep it coming Grey's. There have been a lot of storylines that did not make sense over the years but we still watch because that's how life is. If you want perfection people make up your own story and see how boring it is without throwing in some twists and turns.
It takes a whole lot more than love to raise a child so link has every right in the world to know exactly what he is getting himself into. I honestly thinks she’s been unfair imagine your boyfriend brings a child home and ask you to love him and the child no matter what but refuses to tell you who the mother is 🙄
What do you need more of than love to raise any child? Linc has money. He also has a home. Does those things no longer exist if he's not the biological father? Just wondering what you meant there. Briana Oliver okay maybe for you love and money are the two most important things needed to raise a child but am a mum and I know first hand that’s not true you also have to mentally and physically stable and willing. That been said I think it’s double standard for we women to expect a man to accept a child without knowing the whole story how many women will accept their husband’s child without know who the real mum was. Link did not say he does not love her all he said was he wants to know who the dad is and in this particular case he is right because Owen is annoying and a bit crazy so link might not want all the drama that comes with Owen. He has every right to ask and honestly if Amelia is such a good parent she will take the test not for link but for her child.

Honestly feel so bad for Link. The way I get it his argument wasn't that he might not want to be with amelia because the baby wasn't his but because then the baby would be Owen's. And that is a whole sticky mess. I think it is understandable to have some reservations about committing to a relationship in which the woman is pregnant with her ex-husbands child who she broke up with shortly before you started dating. It's a shitty situation all around but Amelia acting like Link is only willing to give conditional love is unfair to him.
If she only wants to continue a relationship with someone willing to fully trust and love her enough that they are willing to ignore the Owen problem, that's up to her. But denying Link the right to know if the child is his is a horrible thing to do. The way the show frames it we are supposed to blame this decision making on "pregnancy hormones" if all the women in the Grey's universe have such impaired judgement when pregnant how are they allowed to continue working as surgeons? Don't you need unclouded judgement for that?
It also sucks because Amelia finally seemed to be making progress in the communicating about her feelings department. She took in the news Owen might be the father so well, processed it and then told Link calmly and gave him time to think before demanding anything. And now she is completely back to her old self. Hiding, not caring about the other people involved at all. Being pregnant doesn't mean she gets to be irrational.

God forbid a drama shows teaches a healthy relationship... Maybe even a teaching opportunity for some but no that would be too boring... Justin Chambers leaving the show really puts Alex’s story line in a tough spot. Like Alex and Jo got married like 5 min ago ughhh I hate this idea of him just ghosting her but not sure what other sub plot they can spin outta this lol
They should've just written in a sudden unexpected death of Alex Karev (unless they considered recasting and keeping his character with another actor which I think 99.9% of fans would hate) because that could suddenly happen to anyone, dying, but anything else like this is butchering his character and just bad writing and ridiculous.

Amelia is so unfair. Link truly deserves to know, and his answer to knowing is fair. You can’t expect someone to stay for a baby that isn’t theirs. It’s great, and it takes a strong willed person to stay. But link would know who the father was, he’d see the father every day. I couldn’t.

I honestly think the writer's have all checked their brains at the door when it comes to these story lines lately.
The thing that kills me with these comments is Amelia NEVER said if the baby was Link's she'd keep him away from it. She said she wants to raise the baby "with" someone who will love the baby and her unconditionally. That's not link right now. If it's his, they'll be coparents, yes. But they won't be rasing it together. He has every right to know if the baby is his or not. And she has every right to want to know if he'd want to he with her if there was no baby. I think she was right to dump him.
I think Amelia has unrealistic expectations. Her and Link are in a relatively new relationship; less than 6 months I'm guessing. Asking him to raise another man's child this early in the relationship is asking a lot. If I were dating a man and only after a few months he asked me to help him raise a child he had with another woman that would be a hard no. Not everybody wants to raise other people's kids especially in the beginning of a relationship. Didn't Amelia back out of adopting Leo with Owen and decided to just be auntie Amelia? Bottom line it seems Link does not have that deep unconditional love for Amelia that she needs him to have. So it is good she ended the relationship.

But he acted like he was all in, which has to be more about just the baby. I get it's hard to raise someone else's child, but if you're unsure about the relationship... Just say that.

But I also think partly because her relationship with Owen was toxic, and she didn't wanna be dragged back in. Especially because that wasn't he'd situation from the beginning she only got involved when she was looking out for Betty. So it made sense for her to walk away

Because of the circumstances you mentioned it was probably one of the smartest things she ever did because agreeing to be someone's parent should never be taken lightly. But in Link's case he stepped up when he thought the baby was his, as he should have. But if the baby is not his I can see his apprehension. His feelings could have been a mixture of both, baby and relationship. It was relatively new relationship.
