- In this Draw With Me video, I attempt 3 times to paint this little cactus using my TomBow Dual Brush Pens. I wanted to share the entire process and include my failed attempts. Sometimes I just don't feel like creating and it's hard to force art. I did my best to release my expectations and just enjoy the process, that's when things started to feel right again. Sometimes it feels like art is a battle between you and you, and it's so important to keep pushing yourself.
This drawing is super simple and if you have been intimated by painting, this is a great place to start and learn to manipulate colours with water! Remember, everyone messes up sometimes, that doesn't mean you should stop trying.

Lovely video. I like the fact that you also show the illustrations that didn't work out the way you wanted. I think the way you work is perfectly fine, as long as it works for you ;). I like to sketch thumbnails in my sketchbook (or bullet journal), to find a composition.
On a side note, I think the first one can be really cute if you add some linework. It can look really interesting if the colours aren't 'locked' within the lines :3 Gives a playful look.
