It's so funny how close they got to an all time top 10 video game experience right off the bat, because Streets of Rage 2, which is a certifiable god game, is pretty much just Streets of Rage with a few extra months in the oven. The stages and enemies are almost identical with just some graphical improvements. You just had the game running faster/smoother, an extra character, throw a few more unique moves in there for every character, and turn the already good soundtrack up to 11. BAM! Very rarely does a sequel just need to be "The original but just a little better", but that's what this duology was. It's also why its hard to come back to the original these days with 100s of hours of SoR 2 under my belt.
It’s shows that if the formula is right to begin with , then it doesn’t need much tweaking to create a better sequel. Sor2 is my favourite and most played game on the system.
SoR II gives me a stiffy. The first one is meh.. and the J version of #3 is ok. As it’s Christmas Day I’m too pissed to watch your video right now, but I’ll enjoy your take on it tomorrow.
