I tend to eat all the toppings before I eat my pizza sometimes so I would count it cuz you're grading not just the pizza but the actual toppings how well they did with that as well

For real. first you got a host on a pizza show who cant even pronounce the word pizza. and then on the frozen pizza challenge you go, "ima take away all the frozen pizza part." dude this show is a joke, stick to hot ones.
Indeed. If that was the intention of the competition, then they should've just given them a frozen pizza crust base. Since they didn't start with just a frozen crust, I'm guessing that's not what production had in mind.
Dont forget.. 1 chef used a $5 frozen pizza, while the other used a $40 frozen pizza.

Here in my sort of up scale supermarket they sell these hammer pizzas with out any toppings. They are great. Here in Germany there are not so many good pizza places so, this beats most of them. I sort of agree with Tempo....
I always add garlic powder and parsley flakes on my frozen pizzas. Definitely brings it up a notch and then red hot pepper flakes after

This was a tough one, and I'm not sure it's quite fair to scrape 2/3rds of the original pizza away. Props to Nicole for keepin the whole original pie. That said, aint no way that carbonara tasted better than the freakin lobsta globsta...
Yeah, using a boboli for that one would have made it better. For me, when food falls apart it gets frustrating and takes away from the enjoyment. Hard tacos and burgers that won't stay on the bun are the worst. I think the judges may have taken that into account.

Now do it the other way around! Have the contestants make a pizza from scratch, which must still taste good after being frozen then reheated!

To me, this is strangely a more interesting concept than a fresh pizza competition. The truly mundane and last minute, made top quality gourmet. I want more of this!

I'd like to see more actual piece-as. I just called up my local joint and asked for the crab and lobster pie and they were very confused. Jokes aside, there's a place in town that does a pickle pizza. absolutely overloaded with dill pickle slices and dill spice. It was a joke but it went viral so, it's a thing now, I guess?

I've cannibalized frozen pizza before and it turned out really good. Oh man that breakfast pizza looks fantastic! I love how she went with ingredients most homes have, and you can sub out guanciale for pork belly or thick cut butcher bacon if you don't have access to guanciale.

@@John_Doh I am currently only made of 50% pizza as it's a favorite food but no I am not a pizza. One way to cannibalize is to use one thing as a source of spare parts for another thing. What I was referring to was how I took one frozen pizza with a really bad crust and used it for the toppings and cheese to make a much better pizza that had the crust I liked. Basically pulling all useful stuff from one to make something better.

I did the exact same Red Baron pizza last night with the last of some marinated chicken taco meat I was wanting to finish off after having 3 taco meals in a row. Great choice for a base pizza to enhance.

When I'm out of black truffles, gold flakes, and albino Beluga sturgeon caviar, I like to go with red pepper flakes, a few cracks of black pepper, and Kraft's grated parmesan cheese with 2-4% sawdust.
I can see now why there was a short of Nicole rating frozen pizza it was to prepare us for this episode. I didn't even realize frozen pizza was next and this is the one with amber Ruffin yes! I've actually seen a few episodes from her show and I love it!

What's most fun about this clip, IMHO, is the notion of doctoring up pizza that is already made. I've never made pizza dough from scratch, dough-baking is such a delicate process, it can be thrown off by the humidity in the air and the mineral content of the water, so starting with something some company has spent millions of dollars to guarantee a consistent outcome isn't the worst thing a pizza lover could do. So doctoring a frozen pizza sounds like fun to me. Farm out the complicated step of creating the bread plate of your ingredients, and then go hog wild with the things that make your mouth happy. Pizza dough isn't as versatile as, say, rice or pasta, in terms of being a vehicle for flavors, textures, and nutritious delicacies, but it is a fun vehicle.

Definitely not a pizza snob! Frozen pizza is the bees knees and it should be celebrated too! Like it is so convenient and sometimes so cheap. And you can customise it. Sometimes it so much faster than takeout or waiting forever for the delivery person to bring over a pie!!!!Given that pizza was a food eaten by lazzaroni (the Neapolitan homeless and poor people), I think there’s still a need for really cheap and convenient pizza for everyone. Good job @firstwefeast, Nicole and JJ!
I eat the base trio pizza she made all the time. I make it with a good Cajun seasoning and a spicy bbq sauce drizzle on it and it’s amazing.

I like the DiGornoria crust the best. I think they have a brick oven one also. I find the brick oven crust the best flavored, just hate the sauces and ingredients. I go simple on mine. Onion, bell pepper with chicken and ranch dressing with a little Franks Hot Sauce on top.
Master chef taught me, garlic butter brush the crust. Add fresh parm and mozzarella and garlic. High as oven goes midde rack nothing under it.

Yeah, preheating the oven and baking one for 45 minutes warmed up my place. I haven't lived in a studio apartment for almost 2 decades and I thought it cut down on the heating bill for some reason, even though it cost me more on my utility bill than the cost of the actual pizza. $7 frozen pizza = $35 running the oven at full blast for an hour lolololool
Mini Red Barron pepperoni pizza baked then topped with a house salad and ranch or thousand island dressing. Or mini Red Barron cheese pizza baked and topped with fried popcorn chicken pieces.

Can’t really do it because the crust is half the the pizza. No great crust, no great pizza. Totally non negotiable!
Screamin’ Sicilian and CPK are in a fight for best frozen pizza. Regardless, the trick is to heat your pan before you put the pizza on. That way you prevent the soggy dough.

Four Cheese frozen pizza and add red onion, mushroom and chilli pepper slices. Perhaps a dash of hot sauce and mixed italian herbs.
I think scraping everything off of a frozen base and making a whole new pizza defies the point of this whole concept. If you're going to the effort of making your own sauce then just make your own dough too.

Now straight out the bat I don't think I've ever had frozen pizza. Any pizza that I've had comes from the actual restaurants so pizza hut Domino's little Caesars cuz that's what we have here in Jamaica
