Islam in Macau

Islam in Macau is a minority religion in the region. There are currently more than 400 Muslims in Macau, where they call themselves the Macau Islamic Society. According to the Hong Kong Islamic Union, if you count all Muslim foreign workers, there are more than 10,000 Muslims in Macau.
Islam has been present in Macau since the Yuan Dynasty. It is generally said that Islam was brought to Macau by traders from the Middle East and Persia until the Qing Dynasty. Some evidence of this can be found in the Muslim Cemetery near the Macau Mosque, where there are several tombs dating back hundreds of years
