if ferdinand porsche knew that in 65+ years time people would be making his little production car perform like this, he would probably chuckle and smile

Getriebe 8 x 33 !! Sehr gut ...
Keith Miller here is a Link to some pictures. drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B26k7cp7OEj7ckNXQ0JRZy1fbU0&usp=sharing For the write up: The Engine is a Okrasa TSV 1300 (30hp). Stock as offered in 1956. Just changed the Rockers. The Brake System is upgraded to Porsche A Drum Brakes and than some Period Correct Gauges.
Thanks for the link, car looks great, and I like the choice of 175/70 r 15 Vred tyres, look very 'period', and probably give very good grip. Are you running Koni shocks, and stock ride height with stock anti roll bar?
Keith Miller I have red Konis in front and Yellow Bilstein at the back. No Anti Roll Bar as to my knowledge this was not available in 56. At the back I run stock hight with Porsche 356 spacers between drum and wheels. At the front it is lowered a bit. 175/70 is the best for the 5.5 Rims I think and the is the size Porsche used for their Race Cars as well. Ubfortunately Vreds are the only ones available in this Dimensions.
Ian Thomas Dooley I was wondering too, but it has to be custom. The redline shift points for a stock transmission in a 56 would be at 25,50 and 75 kph. His first gear might be stock, but he pulls all the way to 70kph in second and over 100 in third, then barely touches fourth at all. He's pushing past stock redline, but there's more going on than just that.
Amazing! Am I reading your gauges correctly? It looks like you get all the way up to 70 kph in 2nd. So you got that huge 2nd gear pull because your counterweighted Okrasa crank has a higher redline?
Weiter so! Jan
hi Michael, I have an extremely similar set up on my 57 oval. Do you have an email so I can send you some pictures etc? my gauges are mounted in the dash. Oil temp and Oil pressure>>>>
Hello im building a similar setup . Very few people out there know 36hp and im new would love it if i could pick your brains on setup your running and just get some experiance
Das ist für mich DAS Käfervideo. Sound, fahrerisches Können und vintage Tuning. Einfach sagenhaft.
So, hab jetzt auch nen 1956er Ovali. Ziel über die nächsten Jahre: TSV 1300! Das Video ist für mich immer noch DIE Benchmark!
Im in love with your Beetle + the track...

Hi. Nice video. What camera did you use for this POV?
Beautiful! Nice Driver...And this beetle sounds very very nice! Do you have a counterweight crankshaft or a stock one? Thanks a lot!
Its the Orig Okrasa Crank that Inalanced with the Flywheel
That 36 horse had some severe loving with no expense spared..you could hear the result...👏👏

Just Like that
What is the machine in the middle of the front windscreen?
hi Michael i love this engine please could you share the details of it and who built it please, i have some original Okrasa parts
Its a TSV 1300, with carb Set up of a Porsche 356 1300S. Stage 2 cam and other Rockers. a frind and me built it. Let me know if you need assistance.

Is he using a stock transmission?
Ian Thomas Dooley I was wondering too, but it has to be custom. The redline shift points for a stock transmission in a 56 would be at 25,50 and 75 kph. Thanks! All I know is that I would kill to know what ratios or magic he has changed to get that transmission like that. Maybe we will find out.
Here is the magic.... Its a rock stock Ovali Transmission. At that time, it was not even rebuilt ;)
Amazing! Am I reading your gauges correctly? It looks like you get all the way up to 70 kph in 2nd. So you got that huge 2nd gear pull because your counterweighted Okrasa crank has a higher redline?
You can "almost" see on the tach that im going to 4500 rpm. Id say a mix of the crank, stage 2 cam, high lift rockers and compression ratio :)
Ich binn auch immer am rossfeldrennen
Nice, very nice and good driving skills Michael !
Check out my vw bug , thanks ! Aircooled greetz from Belgium.
Now that's a mustache
a mustache is just a racestripe for the face

Ja, ist in einem 1303 Cabrio.
Whats the item in the windscreen there?
Tom Waller that is a Helphos Suchscheinwerfer. Used for Rallies as an aux Adjustable Light
@@michaelgross2926 Polizei und Taxis hatten den Scheinwerfer auch😉
What is this white thing on front window ?
Raphael Moretti It is a Helphos Suchscheinwerfer. www.oval56.com/Literatur/helphos.jpg
