This reminds me of when Johnny Cash did a cover of Hurt. Same melody, and PARTS of the same vibe, but the approach is from a different angle. The original Hurt felt empty, and Cash's felt overwhelmed by emotion. The original Whisper Whisper Whisper feels like you're being stalked by some eldritch computer program, while this one feels either like you've seen the thing hunting you and are now at a dead run, or like you're being stalked but, like, through the streets of a crowded city. Imagine being in Times Square in NYC and for a couple seconds all the electronic billboards turn into this girl's eyes and they're all clearly looking straight at you. This feels like that.
