this is the sickest thing ive ever been able to play on the guitar. i've got the whole thing except the last C part. i owe it to you for making this video where i can just keep skipping back 5 seconds and re watching , at a reasonable pace so i dont have to slow down the video speed. man i'm really happy with where im at right now and just so thankful that there are good people out there putting this level of effort into helping people learn bluegrass guitar. really looking forward to getting into that last c part today (i know its going to be a challenge so i gave it a few days ) here goes nothing !
@@austinkessler3717 Thank you so much for that feedback, that made my day !!! It's so great to have been able to help you when perhaps thousands of miles separate us. If it can help, you can use too website which allows you to loop and slow down part you choose from youtube video (like "looptube"), i do when i transcribe tune from video. Good Luck for the last part, it seems very complicated at first but with practise, it becomes less and less very quickly as training progresses.
You're the best!! Perfection is a lesson where the teacher actually plays the tune for you as well as generously produces a precise tab with zero banter or talking for 20 minutes to find out the person teaching the lesson can barely play it themselves . Thank you gratefully..these are amazing and really helping me to learn this amazing style of playing.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write me this message. I'm really glad you like these videos and find them useful! That's the purpose of this channel, helping and sharing my passion. I've never taken a course myself and have learned by observing others, i try to do what i like to see. But i am not a professional guitar teacher, I hope I'm not showing too many bad habits :-)
Yeah , I’m a few days into learning this. I’m finally at where it starts over again , so at least I have some frame work for the next half. I agree that these videos are the WAY to learn. I get stuck trying to follow the tabs , it’s easier for me to watch the hands and go “oh okay he’s just fingering an F chord and doing these pull offs instead of trying to view the tab as a bunch of individual notes. I can reference the tab for accuracy after figuring it out from the hands . This is a really good video. Thanks for helping me elevate my playing . I’m going to be THRILLED when I’m running this decently . I already feel like a badass. Bluegrass is so cool
I love your channel! I just got into listening to bluegrass and I've been trying to learn flatpicking so your videos have helped me at ton. I wanted to ask you what software , if any, do you use to either slow down or just transcribe what you wanna play? Anyways, love the video thanks!
Thank you so much! I generally proceed in 2 ways, i slow down the video i want to transcribe using youtube speed functions (available in youtube video parameters) or sometimes with website which allow to slow down and loop youtube video part (like looptube website). I use the software Guitar pro to write tab. That software allow too to import audio file and play tab at the same time at different speed, then i can check my tab is close to the original.
Welcome to Ireland, great country! For the pick, i am not really original, i use a Bluechip TP48. I would love to try the TD50, i think it could be good for me too.
@@rottejente3517 According to the "Billy Base" website, this song has been written by Leslie Keith. It was first recorded and released by Curley Fox (1947/1948), and also released by Doc Waston in 1964. But I show here how Billy Strings covered it during a "Fretboard journal" session (link in the video description).

Didnt know this was humanly possible to play…
@@jeffweaver955 It's possible, but it's still hard to keep up with Billy E.T. Strings! 😁
