Dead Rising’s psychopaths are so funny because you can have a boss with a death metal song with the most intense guitar you’ve ever heard except the actual boss is just some guy who used to work at Target or something
Funny thing is, even though it's absurd it's actually pretty realistic I think. It's just regular people who've lost their minds after seeing the world fall apart. I still think minus the weird shit you can dress your character in, Dead Rising 1 and 2 is one of the most realistic representations of what a Zombie apocalypse would be like. You'd more than likely run into quite a few 'Psychopaths' if you survive the initial outbreak. Brandon was a great example and even Antoine and his refusal to accept his new reality.
@@lNeml Oh yeah, definitely! It's a wonderful play on it, with the scene showing Boykin losing his men being a very good example of what you said. That's why they are so loved, with some of them being downright saddening.

They both played during a Starcraft video that's gone from the internet sadly, but that would've/SHOULD'VE been my first introduction to Celldweller and NOT Dead Rising 2.
I was first introduced to Celldweller in Test Drive Off Road: Wide Open. This was the song I'd play a lot while cruising the Yosemite. I was so stoked when I heard it in Dead Rising 2

I first heard this in Xtreme G Racing Association (XGRA) on the Gamecube. I used to be unable to listen to this song without hearing "Weapons: Online" at the beginning.
That's because this is real music made by a talented guy that cares about his work. Not the dumb shit aspiring popstars, rappers and hip hoppers spit out in an effort to get noticed by equally stupid crowds. I use the term aspiring loosely, since most of them will never amount to anything anyway. It's like the games made to combat against Fortnite's popularity. The retarded masses of children only know one thing, so they refuse to accept anything else.
Better than discovering him through an obscure mature flash "game" with an animu gallery as reward that had Switchback as background music. Of course, it was all For Academic Purpouses.

First Celldweller song I ever heard. Also the first piece of audio I ever acknowledged to be music/ a song around 4-6 years old. In my mid twenties now. Still love this.

Funny how a song meaning site says it's about him dropping out of a label. When I heard this song for the first time, I was thinking of the perfect world in a dream, where can you do anything, be anything, the time is yours and you will never die.
Klayton back in the day was kinda... aggressive with the meaning of his songs. If you look lyrics for Yurasuka (Circle of Dust), Uncrowned or Symbiont you'll see.
@@bddd8251 Are you talking about that combo vid compilation of Trickster Dante doing crazy acrobatics in Love Planet and riding sloths like a skateboard?
It’s really interesting, I remember when Klayton updated this song I thought it was a perfect way to make the song sound more relevant. Five years later, that version sounds weirdly dated and this version sounds way more timeless. I guess time doesn’t exist here.
The Offworld version has aged quite well too. It sounds melancholy and mature, while being very atmospheric and relaxing to listen to. I truly love the journey this song has taken throughout *almost* every era of Celldweller.

Was very sceptic at first, intro scared the hell out of me. It took me years to figure out why this song sounded so nostalgic to me Then I remembered, this sounds like kind of the final boss of the first Rayman game.
I saw a video addressing 25 yo thinkers and realized this song meant to talk about how our expectatives about risks and outcomes in our imagination work as a mental prison who prevent us from practicing and learn with our failures.
Much like antoine rejects the reality of the zombie outbreak in fortune city as he hopes the reviewer will come to eat at his restaurant and will use anything for the perfect dish including other humans. He still calls himself the king of cuisine despite his food being horrible.
A person who does wrong is not necessarily bad. As well as a person doing good is not bad. Wrong place at a wrong time can be all it takes, it's not your fault.
There was always a moment with this song when breaking the sound barrier in the higher speeds was just so hype. Like you'd break the barrier and all the other sounds would go quiet and you just hear the bridge. Pure hype.
Imo it does fit him. He thinks the reviewer is on the way, in his *Own Little World*, but outside that small world of his, the reviewer was long dead. In his Own Little World, he thinks he'll be capable of those 4-5 stars he's looking for, but he never received his wish, outside that world, everyone is dead, nobody but the survivors he's taking is going to try his dish..
