If our politicians have good reason to believe that their constituents will vote against them if they stand up against antisemitism, we have a real problem. Ms Claire Lehmann makes some very private and correct statements in her article, however she also doesn’t get it totally correct. What disturbs me, and I think many other readers of these articles is the extremist views demonstrated in the ‘Comments’ section of these articles. Generally Australians have demonstrated our tolerance for individuals with different opinions. Many of the items published in the ‘Comments’ section demonstrate views that are at the extremes of Aussie values. Why publish them at all?
The phone alert was from the Jewish group the JBOD, not from the government. There is nothing stopping other groups from forming their own tech/apps/safety systems. In fact, other groups, for example Muslims, have Muslim Community Patrol & Services (MCPS) in New York.
Thanks Claire, Devastating that this is happening in Oz -it’s such a pity when our ‘leaders’ w ho have such a priviledged position can’t see the forest for the trees. Fully stand with Israel and the amazing Jewish people!
I'm devastated that the people in my community don't feel safe. I'm not Jewish, but in my experience, my Jewish neighbours are wonderful people and any community would be blessed to have them. And I'm disgusted that rags like the Sydney morning herald have blindly reported gazan casualties without noting that they were not reliable (they were released too quickly to be accurate), and failed to sort combatants from non combatants. Context which is essential to help brainwashed people to understand that they are fighting on behalf of terrorists who want to commit genocide on the Jews of Israel (for starters). I was walking down the street when the anti Jewish convoy drive through the eastern suburbs. It was terrifying, and I'm not even Jewish. For me to feel goid about our large Muslim immigration program, I'd like to see the 'moderate' Muslims out on the street demanding a stop to extremism in Australia, and promoting the tolerance and harmony that our society is supposedly based on. For example, a multicultural peace March, instead of angry demonstrations about a way that has nothing to do with us.
@@amaryllisequistra there’s a valid reason that you don’t feel good about Muslim immigration to Australia. We are taught, and we teach our children, to trust their instincts and gut for their safety and well-being. The larger Muslim society (so-called moderates included) are the seawater in which the Islamist radical and jihadi fish swim. They couldn’t exist without them (and some of our own traitorous leftist supporters). I say this with no malice. It’s just a fact. If the community remains tiny, you’ll have little or no issues. Once it reaches critical mass, you’ve lost the game.
A further passing thought. Have you considered the weirdness of what is happening. We have enough ratbags of our own. But police investigations have shown that foreign actors are paying Australian criminals to commit antisemetic acts. That is unusual, to say the least. Also who would leave a caravan filled with mining explosives and a note indicating antisemetic intentions parked in a country road . Someone who wanted it to be found ? Why? I hope police and intelligence get to the bottom of these strange circumstances soon.
Ms Lehman makes an elegant exposition on Australian Jew hatred ( antisemitism is a euphemism ) . Strangely , she goes lightly on the obvious source of this phenomenon, namely , Muslim immigrants and the Woke Left.
It seems that the idifrance of the government is more than just an idiological error. It is the idiology, supported by the murkey woke movement, which puts on a pedestal a tweested practice of retributions by proxy and race identity.

Im Middle Eastern and the problem I have with Israeliss & Europeanss in general is purely racial and has nothing to do with religion at all. I’m an atheist.
Never will there be a world where peace exists and hatred is unheard of. Even close knit families fight and hate each other, so people hating other people is par for the course. The animal kingdom does the same. Thankfully the world has more love than hate ( I'm hoping so) and life just goes on.
@@micahcavanough6362It’s not rocket science. Arrest people for incitement to violence (not free speech) and the attacks on Jews. The problem is Claire, that there is no such thing as Israeli criticism, any criticism is antisemitic, for example killing 10,000's of people by and, (particularly women and children) with military means including starvation is justified. The international court, has ruled on this issue with 99% of the world concurring, yet Israel shrugs it off as antisemitism, even threatening the ICJ. This in no way excuses any violence in any other country aimed at Israelis or any other members of the community, any attack on one group of people is an attack on all of us.
That's incorrect, many people, including Jews and Israelis, are incredibly critical of Israeli policy. "The fact that anti-Zionism and criticism of Israel are not necessarily antisemitic does not mean that they are never antisemitic."quillette.com/2024/07/30/anti-zionism-and-antisemitism/

We don't want or need sectarian violence based on intolerant religion and overseas conflict in this country. Don't bring your prejudices here.
@ It is a pointless ramble off topic. This wasn't about Israel and Palestine except peripherally in regards to the sectarian violence and hatred imported to Australia. I see violence and hatred from one side and not the other. A Jew living in Australia is not an Israeli so conflating the two is anti-semitism. As is promoting the end of Israel.
The Jews only have one land in the entire world, and that is the place of their genetic, cultural and religious origin called Israel. The Gazan government is very open about their hatred of Jews, in fact the only reason that government exists is to find a way to wipe Israel off the map. "as oppose to being based on a desire for their own homeland ( whether that is a righteous claim or not " They dont simply want a homeland, they had that. They want the Jews gone, and to take the land of Israel. Here is another way to think about it; all of the Middle East and North Africa is dominated by Islamic based countries. This is because the Islamic empires colonised the regions. The Jews are the only non Muslim power in the region, so the Islamic powers want them gone. They want to be the only power in the region. If it wasn't for the Islamic colonisation the Palestinians would be Jewish or Christian and this conflict would not exist. If all the Jews in Israel converted to Islam, there would suddenly be no problem with these "European colonialists" having a country in the region.
How do you feel about the extermination of people in Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq and, oh yeah- Ukraine?? Far more people are dying/have died in ALL those conflicts, (Sudan has ACTUALLY been declared a genocide!) yet all we hear is hysteria over Israel defending itself against an outrageous and unprovoked attack. So you’re suggesting that they should just shut up about all this? What a totally ridiculous comment. The fact that you resent Jews comes across pretty clearly in your comment. Antisemitism has indeed been around in Australia for many years. I was speaking to an 80 year-old man recently, and he spoke of how his family were literally beaten up in the street around 1920s in Melbourne. Not him personally of course, but the previous generation. Ironically, the recent spike in antisemitism is clouded by a dominant political ideology, and its attempts to keep a lid on racism. By refusing to be critical of specific demographic and religious groups in society, they end up harming other groups.
@TerminusEst1982 You don’t dislike anyone but you DO dislike one group of people who give off nuances, then you also dislike another group of people because actually let’s be honest you do have a dislike of people. Sounds like an oxymoron. You go onto say:- “All forms of prejudice are wrong. Especially when we as outsiders are deliberately treated differently because we aren't Jewish. Netanyahu signed more peace deals than anyone
At this point, its no longer about antisemitism, this is terrorism and poses a threat to every single Australian.
Political views aside, this has been allowed to fester and grow beyond control.
they call you an anti semite but never a liar
Claire this is incredibly clear and articulate. Well done. Thank you
You're so welcome!
Australia is awful now. I first saw it when they invited the CCP navy to play in 2019. Then the way they bought into the C19 and mRNA coup. The Jew-hatred and violence is inevitable in such a messed up society, a guaranteed sign of its impending failure.
China is celebrating.
Great presentation, thanks for sharing. You can be sure that behind the scenes, there is a very real spiritual battle going on!
"Progressive" Australia has imported conflict. It will keep doing it
I stand with Israel from Australia ❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
As a point of information, about 300 of the Israeli dead on 7 October were members of the security forces and some of the others were the result of friendly fire in the initial confusion. The actual number massacred was perhaps above 800. This is about the same number of Palestinian Arabs the Israelis killed in a series of village massacres in 1948 that caused the Palestinian refugee crisis in the first place. Almost all the Hamas attackers on 7 October were probably descended from these refugees. Join the dots.
Labor should be ashamed of itself. Jewish Australians are Australians. Why did our Federal government bring a lot of Jew haters into my country? Albo and Penny Wong have a lot to answer for.

Fantastic essay. Spot on.
Indifference, that’s the true shame
If our politicians have good reason to believe that their constituents will vote against them if they stand up against antisemitism, we have a real problem. Blocks of voters powerful enough to exert that sort of influence is a worry. What's even more of a concern is the idea that there are so many people who would vote along ethnic lines.
Victoria has the most left-wing government in Australia.

Why publish them at all?
the davids are good business people, so seeing as Albo is for unions, of course he isnt going to defend them: they represent successful westerners.

Did the Rotherham girls (and tens of thousands ot others, especially sikhs) get phone alerts that things might not be safe for them?
The phone alert was from the Jewish group the JBOD, not from the government. There is nothing stopping other groups from forming their own tech/apps/safety systems. In fact, other groups, for example Muslims, have Muslim Community Patrol & Services (MCPS) in New York.
Superb!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks Claire,
Devastating that this is happening in Oz -it’s such a pity when our ‘leaders’ w ho have such a priviledged position can’t see the forest for the trees.
Brilliant! Thank you for speaking truth to indifference!
We have the same situation in Canada. Different actors, same anti-semitism. 🇮🇱 🇨🇦
Never seen יִשְׂרְאֵלִים racism even once except on TV and propaganda channels.

Beautiful clip warning against anti-Jewish hate. I hope this won't fall on deaf ears. More people need to be pro-active in combating this hatred.
Thank you for your clear and thoughtful analysis.
excellent video. it angers me that, articles about Antisemitism minimise the danger and fear of the Jewish community, by saying there's an equal rise in Islamophobia. just obscene nonsense.

Do you feel " queasy " about far right protests like the one that was held on Australia Day in Adelaide?
surely suppressing speech even more and disingenuosly labeling people won't lead to even more resentment
You need to read more widely.
Never will there be a world where peace exists and hatred is unheard of. Even close knit families fight and hate each other, so people hating other people is par for the course. The animal kingdom does the same. Thankfully the world has more love than hate ( I'm hoping so) and life just goes on.
Oh no, anti semitism? Whatever shall we do? 🥱
Take away the right to criticise a specific race, religion or ethnicity. That'll fix the problem and cause no resentment what so ever.
@@micahcavanough6362It’s not rocket science. Arrest people for incitement to violence (not free speech) and the attacks on Jews. Deport them if they can’t live in a society with different ways of life without resorting to violence. Muslims have been the people you’re not allowed to criticise since the 90s at least. Maybe it’s a them problem.

"genociding Gaza" Their population tripled. If they had spent the money they were given to create a new country and kept peaceful relations with their neighbors then they could have been another Dubai. Instead they built tunnels, bought weapons and educated their children to hate.

What is your ramble about? This is about Australia and one-sided hatred and attacks on Jews of Australia. I haven't seen any arson or bombs targeting Palestinians in Australia... We don't want or need sectarian violence based on intolerant religion and overseas conflict in this country. Don't bring your prejudices here.
@@garethevans3600
So you don't understand the comment, but you think its prejudiced?
How, exactly?
Quillette / Claire, what are your thoughts on the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty?
Whats the connection?
How do you feel about the extermination of people in Gaza?
How do you feel about the extermination of people in Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq and, oh yeah- Ukraine?? Far more people are dying/have died in ALL those conflicts, (Sudan has ACTUALLY been declared a genocide!) yet all we hear is hysteria over Israel defending itself against an outrageous and unprovoked attack.
Oh, right. “No Jews, no news”, right……..?

@@JosephKelly-uj1zo You are just the textbook definition of an anti-semite
@TerminusEst1982
