My grandfather had an 83 Alliance (North American variant). He put over 300,000 miles on it. The only weird thing-the radio was at the bottom of the consol behind the shifter.
I hope the fire extinguisher isn't screwed directly onto the fuse board because it holds in place with just 2 plastic screws which are pretty delicate. Great color. headlights and bumpers are also different than the European version.
I drive one - first thing is the steering wheel set-up is odd compared to any other vehicle - owners will know. Secondly, the engine is unusually powerful, especially the 1.4. It's also economical. And reliable. You also probably won't know anyone else who drives one as they are rare nowadays. Do I like mine? No. I love mine. I call mine the Khazak Express - because it would take you to Khazakstan & back without blinking. These are Renaults Toyota.
Yours has worn suspension bushes btw. Tight ones don't clatter over bumps - they iron them out silently. Take a look at the lower balljoints & general suspension - something is worn out.
