You said you cut the pages at 5/8’s of an inch, but that is more than a half inch, and then you cut more , which is even more than 5/8s, so are you actually cutting off 3/4’s of an inch? Just want to make sure what they should be cut at. Thank you.
So sorry for the confusion....it should be 3/8th of an inch, not 5/8th of an inch, as the width of the edge to the crease of the book, which i think is 1/2 an inch. You really just want to have a small, maybe 1/8th of an inch, space to add your glue to reseal the pages together. If for some reason the pages are still to wide, then you can shave another 1/8th of an inch on the right side of the page (edge of the book page). But the main bulk of your cut should be the left side of the page, where the crease is, to avoid loosing the balance of the story/words. I hope that helps clarify.
