THANKS FOR WATCHING - Развлечения
Great addition of MASK. Thanks! When I was a kid, I had to save up money by watering the garden every day a couple times a day during the hot summer to keep the vegetables growing, in order to buy the Volcano, the biggest MASK vehicle I had, and actually still have.
Nice one. 👍🏻
I loved MSK in da 80s
👍🏻
Great to see it working well, always with these old toys the battery compartment is corroded.
Yup. That's why it took me so long to find one that was functioning.
Awsome vehicle Dean.... Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Such an awesome toy and a real grail 🙌 Love the box artwork.
I think M.A.S.K. has the best boxes back in the 80s.
I know nothing about MASK so i love seeing these videos.
Thanks. 👍🏻
Great toy sir. I remember it from when I was a kid in the 1980s. I never had it. But it was a great toy. I'm sure in great condition it is a true collector's piece. Since they have never been reissued since the 1980s.
I was a prolific cartoon watcher back in the day, and I think we are close in age, but somehow I missed MASK or I don’t remember it. Your show was my first introduction to the brand.
For whatever reason, MASK seems to have passed a lot of people from our generation by.
Very cool toy, never had it but looks great! and she go's, bloody beautie. And yes the fullas that did the art work for kenner back in the day, were the best!! Air fix were the same the box art on there model kits are beautiful works of art showing the model in action.
One more dean and you can say [ like sir edmund hillary said after he climbed Everest ]
Well we knock that bugger off!! Have a good 1 and if you don't remember the sun will bring a new day tomrr will..n.z
Yes!!! Airfix had some amazing artwork as well. When you look at modern toys, you just don't see that artwork anymore. Such a shame.
Very cool
👍🏻
Great video, for an amazing M.A.S.K. vehicle, Dean.
The sunroof is the most difficult item to find, as most are either M.I.A. or broken, so if you can repair this one, it will be a great bonus.
Even a new one, made from a cd case, would be an acceptable compromise, as the only alternative, would be to buy a mint in box Volcano!
Yup. 99% of these are missing the sunroof.
@@AllThings80s There is at least one person who has reproed the sunroof...
@@seankelly9541 Who's that?
I think someone said the Death Star playset was $13 and the Alum...Millennium Falcon was closer to $20. This was pretty expensive.
"Holy santa claus S***. Can you imagine if we had these when we were 12...Even better, we got them when we're 40" , not my quote obviously. Love your videos and thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us, both good and bad. Takes guts to do that. Stay safe and happy.
Many thanks 👍🏻
Love your channel Dean, happily found you through iconicon, keep up the great work
Much respect for 🇮🇪✌️
Awesome, thank you!
The spring mechanism on mine can be a bit finicky, but it's a fun vehicle all the same. Neat - i didnt realize the "Motorized" caption on the box before!
I tend to agree that too many MASKS episodes in a row can be hard to watch as i dont feel they age super well. Will say this though: the incredible theme song makes up for it lol!
The MASK cartoons are just glorified toy commercials. I was oblivious to this as a kid, but watching them now, it's really hard to get through as it's the exact same story in every episode.
Ma Ma Ma Mask! Nice dean! I got drive 2 1/2hrs 2 st louis 4 a decent mask selection
Wow. That's dedication. 👍🏻
Amazing example Dean, one I still need, not cheap or plentiful in Uk it seems. But amazing vehicle and very different to the other MASK vehicles.
Plus you get extra points for rocking the S!#* out of those green pony sneakers 👌😁
Fun fact:- The local Century 21 department store went out of business at the end of last year and held an "Everything Must Go" sale and among the many bargains I picked up were these sneakers for FIVE BUCKS!!!! I actually bought two pairs so that when these ones wear out, I'll have a new pair to wear.
@@AllThings80s a man after my own heart, I buy trainers in twos also 👌
@@ReynoldsReviews Well, at $5 a pair, it would be foolish not to.
It looks like something you'd see at a tractor pull. "SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY....THE VOLCANO ERUPTS AT THE GOOBER PYLE MEMORIAL SPEEDWAY!"
LOL 👍🏻
Great toy and review, Dean. Still haven't decided if I want to get Volcano for myself.
Just a thought for the moonroof repair. You may be able to build up the tab using a UV cured glue. It comes in different viscosities and the thicker versions can be built up as you cure them with the light and also give some strength for smaller pieces like the moonroof tab.
Thanks for the tip on the UV cured glue. 👍🏻
That's a neat toy dude! :)
Thanks Tim. 👍🏻
Man, what a great MASK toy. I vaguely remember its existence. Love that line. Keep us updated on any potential repairs!
As M.A.S.K. was the last line of toys I played with as a kid and never got beyond the series 1 toys, I had no idea this existed until a couple of years ago.
@@AllThings80s Well, that makes me feel better, then!
Feeling a bit depressed this morning, but listening to Maiden's new album and a new video from your good self has cheered me up.
What an awesome vehicle Dean, even though I'm not into collecting M.A.S.K, I have to admit that this one really does appeal to me, but as its rare and I'm not a collector of the line, I'll leave it for someone who is.
I hope you're feeling a bit better. I've given the new Maiden album one listen so far, but I'm not loving it. I'll give it another spin later tonight.
@@AllThings80s
Thanks Dean!! :-)
Yeah, For me, its the mixing of bruce's voice that i find a bit off putting, really struggling to work out the lyrics on some of the tracks which isn't usually a problem on their previous work.
@@TheToyBoy1978 Yeah, the mix is a bit off and some of the songs are just way too long.
@@AllThings80s 100% agree with you there. I think i'm right in saying that the 4 longest tracks match the whole play time of the Piece Of Mind album.
@@TheToyBoy1978 Yup, that's correct.
Ok Dean you got me hooked!! I'm bidding on a few mask auctions right now hopefully nothing your bidding on lol. Cheers my friend
LOL, I'm happy to have introduced you to this awesome line of toys. 👍🏻
Hi Dean! I fixed my rooftop with a piece of a lego minifig cup, piece 3899, a transparant one. I glued it together and it works very well, but it's quite delicate. The electronics on mine don't work anymore unfortunately. Not sure how to fix that. maybe i should check the videos of that german guy who does Mask restorations. You've heard of him? Cheers!
That Lego cup trick sounds perfect. Thanks for that. I've not heard of the German guy, but I'll definitely look for him.
@@AllThings80s He is called Sentinel Bay Reviews. He totally screws them apart. It really sooths the soul. It's in german though.. btw, I think Volcano is the best looking Mask vehicle in attack mode of them all! And the name Volcano is perfect. All those names are great. This really turns out to be the greatest toyline of all time. Maybe it's for the best it never got reintroduced.
@@jaapdekker9420 👍🏻
Anther great M.A.S.K. review! If I have to critique the Volcano, I think its a bit... underwhelming. Hear me out first! While the motorized feature is OK, the attack(or defense) mode is a bit lacking. It could've used a bit more weapons, like smaller missile pods around the central red turret station that also rotate, and another set of guns that flip out behind the vehicle.
You make some great points.
Strange...I had this as a kid, in fact I still have it tucked away in a storage box upstairs. But I do not remember it being motorized! Maybe they scrapped that feature in Europe. Investigate this, I will.
@Lord Sidious Belgium. Guess mine will be motorized too and I just don't remember...Will have to check.
I think they were all motorized.
@Lord Sidious Well, not true. I bought it from a seller in America.
@Lord Sidious No. Jeff is in California.
@Lord Sidious Not at all. We live in a world wide community.
I haven't seen the MASK cartoon since it originally aired. A few years ago I picked up the DVD's, and I've just now got to watching it. I'm like 10 episodes in and this cartoon is exactly a cartoon that just exists to sell toys. I know people like to say that a lot, but I think Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, etc. cartoons are able to stand on their own. I'd say the MASK cartoon compared to other similar 80's cartoons is like a B movie. I'll watch through it once and never again.
I do remember back in the day when the cartoon went to the racing series, and I hated all the racing.
I completely agree. I'm currently on episode 32 having not watched it since I was a kid and it's become a real chore to get through each one. It's the same exact story in every episode.
@@AllThings80s I don't know if they couldn't get a better picture source for the DVD or if the show was just made this bad, but the picture quality is terrible when compared to other 80's cartoons like Transformers, Thundercats, GI Joe, etc. Plus the screen is loaded with white specks and the colors are washed out.
I'm going to watch the whole thing, but I know I'll never watch it again. I really wish the people who did the GI Joe cartoon had done the MASK cartoon as well.
@@colt5189 I recently watched season one of Transformers and that was tough going and I'll soon watch MotU again and I don't hold out much hope for that either. They were great as a kid, but as an adult, I only really see the faults.
@@AllThings80s Yeah, they all are kind of hard to watch as an adult. I think MASK is the worst of them so far. MOTU I only got 6 episodes in. I think Thundercats, Voltron, Transformers, and GI Joe so far are the best 80's cartoons.
@@colt5189 👍🏻
I've never seen that toy, very cool! The "normal" vehicle mode looks like the Mystery Machine on steroids. I'm sure Toy Polloi will have a fix for something like that sunroof somewhere in his video library.
I'm sure Toy Polloi will know what to do and I'll be definitely be asking him if I get stuck.
@Lord Sidious Yup. I've listened to it once today and I'm not exactly loving it. I suspect it'll take a few listens to really digest it.
@Lord Sidious 👍🏻
Wonder why they decided to make this mask vehicle motorized?
I've no idea and it is quite strange to have only made the one motorized vehicle.
