Kamala's Story Of Hope

Hailing from Ambaliambaguda village in the Koraput district of Odisha, Kabita Khosla is the sole caretaker of her mother, Kamala Khosla. Kamala was diagnosed with mental illness in 2017 and had no access to proper medications. After multiple failed attempts at local medications, her condition deteriorated, causing her to experience epilepsy episodes 2-3 times every month. With the assistance of our implementation partner - WORD, Kabita received continuous treatment, which has helped improve her condition.
Through the LLL rural program in partnership with Carers Worldwide and WORD, Kamala not only received access to free medications but was also empowered with livelihood opportunities and the much-needed community support she and her daughter deserved.
