Yes I’m back to normal now minus the allergies 😭. But I’m glad I can offer some motivation ❤️
I’m in Houston, I grew up here And have struggled with allergies all of my life. Growing up I would get SICK at least once a year and struggled the rest of the time. As an adult I realize that a lot of environmental factors absolutely compounded my issues. My parents smoked. We had carpet. We lived in some older homes that I’m positive needed a good hvac cleaning. AC filters weren’t changed monthly. Etc. I’ve since discovered that controlling my home as much as possible absolutely helps more than almost anything. (Along with my beloved Allegra D.) I have no carpet in my home, no curtains, only a few rugs that I clean often. I change my air filters monthly, I dust A LOT and make sure I hit the tops of picture frames, ceiling fans, tops of tvs, window sills, backs and front of blinds, EVERY surface. Including baseboards and door and window trim. I don’t burn candles or release anything extra into my air like that. I DO air out my home. And I try to not run ceiling fans as much because it dries me out and gives me sinus headaches. Or I at least try to add humidifiers to the mix. I stay far away from smokers these days and have no pets. It may seem like overkill, but 4/5 occupants in my home suffer from sinus/allergy issues. So it’s made easier when we’re “catering” to the needs of the majority of the household with our habits.
We have adopted a lot of measures to control these allergies. We change all filters monthly. I clean like crazy, I have purchased all the air purifying things. And I shampoo that carpet monthly as well. We added meds now finally we are see some relief. We are religious with the humidifier as well.
I’m a new subscriber and would like to say that I too, moved from up north to Houston over 30 years ago and it’s so difficult for us too with the allergies. I avoid going outdoors during March and April. All the pollen gets in our homes so I keep everything shut and well sealed (windows, doors etc). I have a dehumidifier running all the time when it gets hot and have air purifiers. Humidifiers can make ones home moldy. So I don’t have any. I change the air filters monthly and have no carpet. I dust all the time. Some people take local honey 🍯 as it has local pollen that could help building ones immunity . Benadryl helps but not good to take often. Also neti pots are good for cleaning the nose. Just be patient as y’all get used to Texas weather. Texas is better than by/nj. Well that’s my opinion...I never liked it up north, it’s too expensive and old looking.

Back on February 14th, Valentine's Day, a moving co. was delivering our furniture, & on that day I was sore, achy, & really lethargic. Then, on the 17th I went 2 the emergency room. Thank GOD it turned out 2 be just a sinus infection, but boy it sure did kick my butt. I'm praying 4 u & ur family 2 be covered by GOD's healing power, but just continue 2 take every precaution, cuz nobody is gonna care 4 u, like u.

Love your motivation videos, the part where your helping your daughter declutter brought back a lot of good memories. Did the same with my girl, she'd have so much stuff, the look you gave the camera cracked me up, good times. Our kids are all grown with families of their own now,I honestly don't know where the time went, but do enjoy your videos.

My sisters-in-law works in a nursing home in Philadelphia where everyone is sick with the virus! She was not well either for a few days, but tested negative thankfully!

I've noticed that getting rid of my carpet and replacing it with vinyl flooring seems to help to eliminate dust in my house, which in turns helps with my allergies.

Glad you are feeling better. My bff removed all soft items and carpet from her sons room. He suffers terribly from allergies. It really helped him. He has wood floors and blinds. No rugs or extra blankets. And a air purifier helped him too. Good luck!
Oh wow. We would have to remove it from everywhere because he all over the place. We have started meds so I’m hoping that’s helps with the symptoms.

I just washed all my pillows this week. Pillows are machine washable, assuming they aren't feather pillows. I love making my bed extra clean.
I love my mattress cover too. Keep your bed fresh!
My machine has an agitator that like to destroy things 🤦🏽♀️. So I end up just buying new one ever so often.
@@GuiltFreeMomma You can still throw them in the dryer on high heat which will kill dust mites and freshen them up. They get so fluffy!
I throw in some wool dryer balls too.

So happy you tested negative for COVID-19 and are feeling better. Great cleaning motivation. I live in Southern California and am suffering from allergies. I just got a humidifier on the advice of my doctor.

Karima, I am so glad to hear that you Covid test came back negative. You were talking about allergies, that your husband and son have been suffering from. I am from the Deep South and unfortunately I have never seen allergies get better or go away. Spring time is the worst for those that have to deal with allergies. The best you can do is to take your medicine regularly. They do help. Best of luck.

I never had allergies until we moved to VA. They get worse every year. Try consuming honey that's local. It doesn't work for everyone but can't hurt to try. I found some online essential oil combos that are supposed to help. I am in 2-3 allergy meds and that's just how I get by.
We started meds as well. That is helping. I was hoping not to have to go that route but we can’t suffer like this.

I’ve had severe allergies that turned into allergy induced asthma. I live in KS and everything- dust, grass mowing season, flowers blowing everything that attracts your allergies are terrible right now! Sadly I have tried every single medicine there is and nothing was strong enough until they made Zyzal! Not sure what you give everyone for allergies but I would just say stay on top of it and take it one or twice if says. My next suggestion is the allergy shot I have not had it but have considered getting it and heard great things and yes keep those humidifiers on def helps! Whew girl hope you get to feeling better and so glad it wasn’t Covid 19! Love the video as always! Stay safe girl! Prayers sent

I believe the allergies are due to the dry air in Texas. I'm born & raised, but I always hear new comers having problems. Humidifier will ALWAYS definitely be your friend... Hope this helps! Your channel is great btw! 😁💜
Yes! The humidifier definitely helps. It’s the only way my son gets any sleep. I really hope we get use to it because I can’t take this.
@@GuiltFreeMomma He might get used to it as time goes on, but idk. Hopefully his doc can straighten him out. Are there any other healthier alternatives besides the humidifier? I've even seen ppl have to take shots, because they are so intense. Other than that... Do y'all like texas?

You know I’m from the South too (North Carolina) and I’ve always suffered from seasonal allergies and their isn’t a magic remedy for me I just keep things wiped down, use the humidifier and I take Flonase and fluticasone . My whole family also suffers from them. The soup looked delicious and I’m definitely checking Aldi for the raspberry cupcakes! Thank goodness your test came back negative!🧁💝
