Abigail Schwaig damage truth. I keep thinking that theirs gonna be a film that's gonna move me with powerful emotion these days. I'm afraid those concepts don't exist anymore.
She's not afraid of him. She's ashamed of herself. Cal's mother wanted Cal to believe that she was dead. Instead, he finds out that she's alive and is the madam of a brothel. She threw her son out because she didn't want him to know the truth!
She never intended to see either of her children or Adam ever again. In the book, after Cal went to go see and talk to her, she became somewhat fond of him. She became fond of Aron without meeting him because Cal said he looked like her. Before she died, she left all her money to Aron but he died when he went to war. The movie would have been completely different if they had included Lee's character. He was so important in the book.
Both wrong answers ^^ she did not know he was her son till he said it which is cut off in this clip , she thought he was some weird kid following her around stalking her.
The movie is far different from the book. Katherine would of have never let Cal borrow money to give back the money his father lost. Lee was the one who gave Cal the money for the beans.
Yes. Great. Ephemeral. He was indeed a genius and what I suspect is he knew he was. Scary situation in an artist of any sort. I revere Dean and like everyone wish we could have had more from him. Idiot youth car wreck. That comes with the bravado gesture in his life but sorry for us. We needed more.
Not exactly. In the book, Cal went to see his mother, Kate, but they actually had a significant conversation where Kate probes Cal on his relationship with his brother and father, and where Cal realizes even though he has some of his mother’s evil in him, that he is still separate from her and is his own person. Kate is angered in the interaction but Cal simply runs out of the house before any violence starts. This exchange you see in the scene above is actually similar to Kate’s first interaction with Adam, Carl’s father, after she shot him and left. Adam was drunk and Kate became furious with him when he rebuffed her sexual offer, and upon realizing that she couldn’t control him anymore she screamed and a thug in the brothel beat Adam to the ground.
He is a king of acting around the world of all time no one can beat him never 😍😍😍
A very remarkable man and an acting genius of which the Hollywood could have only a glimpse of.
The Golden Age, back when they made cinematic films with evocative power....

Justin Zarling They do. You just have to know where to look
@@justinzarling4776 No offence but you're probably just being closed minded, there are a lot of well made movies nowadays
@@thehopeofeden597 No it’s all TRASH.
Name one?
Jimmy, the greatest actor ever.
1:41 I am so distracted by the little heart that guy is making on the wall I can't even focus on the scene hahah
Good eye! I never even noticed! I wonder why he was doing that lol thats so random
Legends. Never. Die. They. Live. Forever. James. Dean. Will. Be. Here. Forever.
Jo Van Fleet was truly some kind of excellent actress!
it's awful. she knew who he was and had mixed emotions.
She won an Oscar for this. Well earned.
The guy has very persuasive voice I ever heard!
James Dean is gorgeous
and you would probably only date him for his money since he was only 5'7"

Why is she so afraid of him?

guilt...!
Dean was a good actor, but had he lived he would been just another oedinary talent.

Lots love from india
Too depressing
I had a similar life. I identified myself to James Dean, 60 years ago.
James Dean kinda looks like Elvis Presley... maybe.
James colocou a imagem de sua mãe nela por isso a cena é tão real.... ele realmente estava desesperado e gritando por sua mãe ( já falecida)
Sad, showing clips of trashy movies next to a clip of actual art from yesteryear
Is this scene in the book?
