@@AcelaRailfan2255 You know, it's starting to grow on me. Sounds like high speed trains in Europe. I don't really know anyone that loves it though. haha!
The trains look nice, even the Station with its new lamps and platforms look nice, but track looks like old (I know, there's at least one of the tracks with modern clips). NY to New Haven really is NEC"s most dated section. Trains move in slow motion more (most of it is limited to 75 Mph with numerous restrictions). The new Acela seems to be a little out of place on that infrastruture
You’re so right. Amtrak is at the Mercy of Metro North on this section, and Metro North has no interest in doing upgrades and increasing the speed. Their trains don’t need to go any faster than that.
I noticed that too! It kindof looks like damage... but it's most likely an array of sensors for testing the new trainsets. I'll see if I can learn more!
i was there in december for the first time. got to see the northeast regional in the snow for the first time too
Wow those new Acela trains are beautiful! I was just told about this channel by a friend!
Thanks for checking it out, Nick!
New Haven MNRR shares trackage with Amtrak starting from nearby Shell Interlocking to New Haven Union Station!
Avelia is a beautiful train.
Can’t wait until they enter service!
The only thing is that I am not a fan of the horn, we will all miss the K5LA Horns that the first Acela had.

I also can’t wait for revenue service!! I take NYP or NWK-WAS at least 8 times a year
@@masbestiaquetu And hopefully they add more frequencies and stops!

@@RailWeekly I miss when the MAS between New Rochelle and Harrison was 90MPH - not lightning fast, but definitely more kick to a train passing!
yoooo fellow NY railfanner
I'm not one to be super interested in passenger trains, but I'm enjoying the music-less views!
Thank you! Have a music-less freight video in the works now as well.
That 3rd MN M8, was there a 3 car set instead of the usual 2?
I see those every now and then. Haven’t quite been able. To make sense of it. I always thought they were in semi-permanent sets of 2 as well.
Why does the last passenger car on the avelia look torn up

You mean at the red stripe? It’s cable used for the many measurements necessary for the test
