Glad to hear one is coming to Texas. Be great to know where? But I know you probably can't say, but I will be looking for it here. Hats and shirts for sure! Great videos.
If you want a VW suggestion, I'm in love with the Karmann Ghia. I would love to see you guys bring one of these to life with the V8 option. I had a 68 35 yeas ago and now my son and I are building one for his first car. I just never understood why that body never had a sportier option. Cheers, love the CNC work. Never Surrender!!!!!!!!!
John your Short Production V8 Stealth Beetle may turn into a Long Run Journey like Jimmy Price of Hy-Tech Automotive in Port Elizabeth, South Africa's Cobra and GT40 Reproduction's and many other cars. When you build something that everyone dreams about things go crazy... Good Luck !!!
I would Love to see t-shirts maybe a few Flex fit hats. Key chains are cool too as I am in process of building a 1 off ‘68 beetle powered by a ‘98 Dodge Dakota RT 5.9 drive train. (It’s what I had on hand).
In the US, the VIN defines the car. Since the VIN is on the body of the aircooled VW, if the V8Stealthbeetle is made from a '67 Beetle, then it is a '67 Beetle. All inspection and registration requirements will be based on that.
If I may make a Suggestion for sale in USA, A Ford DOHC Coyote 5.0 or any Aluminum LS would be far easier to sell here as those engines are Much easier to come by and have a better reputation for Reliability here. Otherwise Nice Work.
i really like the bettle...my first car was a 1979 bettle. 38 years later im back to owning a Bettle 2.0 Rline 210HP . thing is , there are not many after market accessories that i can buy to beautify my bettle. perhaps you guys have accessories like different taillights , side visors?
I STILL HOLD THE VW RECORD FOR IT'S CLASS AT THE NURNBERG RING 10TH LAP IN A 1973 SUPER BEETLE AT 324.8 KM OR 203 MPH WHICH HAS A 1975 PORSCHE TWIN TURBO CARERRA ENGINE 3.2 TO A 3.8 LTR AND TRANSMISSION BUILT BY WOLFGANG BOOBER FROM MAINZ WEISENAU GERMANY. I STILL HAVE THE CAR AND IT WAS RAN AT DAYTONA FOR 15 LAPS AND THE FASTEST RECORDED SPEED WAS 202.4 MPH. A NASCAR COULD NOT KEEP UP WITH ME. CAR WAS FEATURED IN A FEW MAGAZINES IN 1978 AND IS RESTING IN IT'S CONTAINER IN LOUISIANA. IT WILL BE RAN AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. WITHOUT BURNING TIRES WHICH IS A NO NO DUE TO THE CLUTCH THE 1/4 MILE WAS 8.9@164 MPH IN 4TH GEAR. THIS WAS MY DAILY DRIVER FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS.. IT DOES HAVE BOOST AND A LOT OF IT...MR. BOOBER WAS A RACE CAR BUILDER.. OH WELL I STRUCK AGAIN.. MORE POWER FOR SLICK 50.....
Would it be possible to purchase a bare bones version? Just the chassis and body and the purchaser could do the rest of the work the way they want basically the money would be the main reason, I would love to have one but I know I couldn't afford one and I don't even know the price but I know just by looking at the work you do its pure quality.
@@thomasgary1219, I prefer the LS as it is cheaper here in the USA. SO I have researched anyways. They sell only the longblock Audi V8 mostly but adding accessories add a bunch as I cant afford. Thanks! Andy
I contacted you last year to see what it would take to build one for me and send it to me in Southern California . I was told it would be too expensive. What was the cost for the build and shipping to Texas? I would rather send you my ‘64 doner for the build.
I'm curious as to why you wouldn't develop this with an LS motor? Seems to me that it would satisfy most of your requirements for size, weight, etc - while dramatically reducing the cost. A simple aluminum block/heads LS engine is significantly more cost-effective than an Audi engine. Additionally, it radically opens up a world of customization for customers with choices for power levels.
Having just discovered your build and binge-watched the series, I think you have done yourself a big disservice by not naming the car the ‘Jean Fourie Special’, or something along those lines.
For a South African such as myself who still lives in South Africa, the prices are just way too much for people like me. There is no way I can get my hands on one even though I live about 5km's from your workshop
Sorry Art, there is a price attached to the development needed for a vehicle like this (min 3 years) and then the production of a handbuilt sportscar. Maybe a couple of T Shirts will help keep you happy.
@ Art Pereira, probably the same reason why Jonathan Ward's Icon Derelicts will never find a market in South Africa - or a business like his would never work in SA - unless all units are exported. The V8 Beetles are amazing, but not for SA buyers. It's good to see this type of development in South Africa.
@@Visionery1 Absolutely, which is why it sucks I didn't study how to use money to make money ... like what my dad told me to do when i finished school in '96. Probably would have the cash by now
Ahhhh... I added that comment after seeing the one that went to Melbourne (and before the explanation on inspections, etc). It may not necessarily be getting registered... though I'll watch for updates with interest.
@@V8StealthBeetle Thanks for your kind reply, guys. Love what you've done to make what is probably the least popular of the (old style) Beetles into something highly desirable. Keep up the awesome work. I watch with great interest, and wish you every success in your venture.
I JUST LOVE WHAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING!!!! Keep up the good work!
Josh Costa thanks, tell your friends

Obviously we have to respect the wishes of the owner. The vehicle will only be ready towards the end of the year.

Awesome to hear it is coming to Texas. I have started a saving plan to get one in the future. A cool hat and shirt would be nice until then too!

Make them... Its not hard to sculpt or 3d print stuff to make moulds. Heck, there are website the offer such services called prototyping.
It's one thing to build a one off car. Whole different level to be able to re produce it.

I poked around on the website, but I never saw any performance numbers. 0-60? Top speed? Braking performance? Stuff like that. Are there any?
Not yet. we will do a full performance test at some stage, but to be honest, it feels really quick, handles awesome and stops quickly.
I have a question, if there is anyway to modify the chassis and fit a LS engine into it?
It can be done, needs to re route the water pipes around the side of the chassis instead of down the middle.
Agera Valentino Umm... Why would you want to do that?
