One hears the influence of his teacher, Beethoven, but he certainly has a voice of his own, too -- I have read much of Ries in biographies of Beethoven, and it is a special treat to hear of this friend who, knowing all sides of the elder composer, was unfailing in his love and honor of his teacher, whether close by or far away. His music also has that quality ... faithful to what he learned, retaining his own integrity! THANK YOU yet again!
