I will admit that I did not come across this song out of a love of Polish culture. Thou, differenec is hard to notice, so the translation is still great :D Also later there is word 'you' (Tobie) written as "tobie". "Tobie" in polish is ALWAYS written with capital T (same with Ci, or other words that directly refer to someone like you, yours, yall, etc) Stilll, translation is very good :D

I'm American, but when my grandma was alive, we would always have the best holiday dinners. Especially Easter and Christmas. All the best Polish food would be there. Going to Poland is on my bucket list and I want to go there some day to get in touch with my roots. After my Grandma died in 2015 and a lot of my other older aunts and uncles, holidays just don't seem to carry the Polish feeling anymore

The thing about translation is that while it keeps meaning of the words, it does not keep the regional-archaic character of the used language, which gives a lot of artistic value, making it feel more "cozy" or "simple"

W literackiej polszczyźnie zanikają, choć czasem pojawiają się jako odpryski młodzieżowej mody np. koledzy z pracy, świeżo po studiach, dla jaj używają takich słów jak "dziołcha", ""kaj" czy "ciepać" (pierwotnie gwara beskidzka, słowo ostało się ino na Śląsku Cieszyńskim).

I will admit that I did not come across this song out of a love of Polish culture. Instead I looked it up because the World of Tanks Studzianki music kicks ten types of ass and I wanted to find the original song. I am the RUclips equivalent of a tourist.
That said, this music just feels joyful and celebratory and I will spend some time learning about Polish culture out a newfound want to learn.

I'm American, but when my grandma was alive, we would always have the best holiday dinners. Especially Easter and Christmas. All the best Polish food would be there. Going to Poland is on my bucket list and I want to go there some day to get in touch with my roots. After my Grandma died in 2015 and a lot of my other older aunts and uncles, holidays just don't seem to carry the Polish feeling anymore

Dobrze, że są napisy, bo miałbym problemy ze zrozumieniem gwary. Są tu też archaizmy, kery występują już tylko w gwarach śląskich. W literackiej polszczyźnie zanikają, choć czasem pojawiają się jako odpryski młodzieżowej mody np. koledzy z pracy, świeżo po studiach, dla jaj używają takich słów jak "dziołcha", ""kaj" czy "ciepać" (pierwotnie gwara beskidzka, słowo ostało się ino na Śląsku Cieszyńskim).
