    This presentation deserves much more attention!
    Let alone the impressive concepts she introduces and the beautiful images Emily presents to carry us along, it must have taken months to prepare this presentation in such a smooth, straightforward and stunning way. Very well delivered!

    I think for a non-tech people, I can still grasp at least 70% of the presentation. What a wonderful presentation!

    One of the best YT videos I've seen in some time. Very well presented, smooth videography and literally ground breaking content. It's nice to see every single complexity involved in software thrown into a neat little circle. It's certainly a circle I'll be referring to from now on.

    Having been in the industry since 1980! I have experienced much of what Emily is talking about. This is an extremely insightful, well thought out presentation, that embodies the "potential" of what should be, could be, or even the direction we should consider taking. The depth of systemic thinking, simply described, in a clear and easy to understand way, is what any true "futurist" strives to do to englighten the world around them. Kudos to you Emily!! I am impressed and would love to hear more of your thoughts on this!!!

    YES YES YES YES YESSSS! Haven’t listened to the whole vid yet but it really resonates. I’ve been thinking about roles in this sense recently too! This matches up better with the e reality of how we work.

    Good content. I belive whole software engineering would follow similar decipline like in medical field. The engineering is becoming very complex with ever increasing customer demands. I see more granular level engineering roles just like we have doctors / surgeon for each organs in human body. It is invetible for IT has humans cannot be expert in many complex subjects there is underlying limitation the we opearte. So next decade, no matter how many productivity tools/platforms we develop, the chaos management is key

    Really good!!!! I like how she admits Devops means different things to different people while offering a set of guidelines for users to coalesce around. Very helpful

    So it comes to me that the message of this video is that, the whoe SDLS should be based on agile & devOps, and from then, every "stage" - architecting / dev / automation / deploy / ops should be intertwined with the others as a whole, considering that 6 principles every second.

    I really like all these idea, but what process of framework can we implements them better than the ones we have now. I see agree on the problems, but am struggling to find a path to get to a solution.

    • @jaketarren
      @jaketarren 2 года назад +1

      Yeah I have that same thought with a lot of similar videos. "We're solving problems the wrong way!" Sure, but how can we improve it? I agree with everything they say, but disappointed they didn't give any suggestions on how _I_ can be better.

    Every model that don't have a part of non-code parties will be very success on engineer driven companies and not so well for the rest of us.
    I mean if you need to do a detailed planning & budget management for 2 months, then given a hard deadline of 6 months then we all know what happen with security, reliability, observability...

    I really agree that we should no longer conform to traditional job titles/roles. While I am not sure if the alternative is better, I often feel very constrained by the job titles/roles.

    • @OneAndOnlyMe
      @OneAndOnlyMe 2 года назад

      Agree. I work cross functionally and so in my role I have multiple job titles (and multiple email signatures, LOL), anything from PMO to Change Management to Portfolio/Product Owner to Enterprise Architect.

    Poor title, 10 minutes to get to the point and does not offer an alternative to the SDLC as we know it. Great core concept though.
