- In this video we have a Behind the Scenes Underwater Scenes from H2O - Just add water!
Rikki Chadwick, Emma Gilbert, and Cleo Sertori are three teenage Australian girls who find themselves stranded on the mysterious Mako Island, where they end up in a pool under a dormant volcano just as a full moon passes above them, bathing the pool in light. The girls are rescued and brought back to shore, where they return to their normal lives, until discovering their lives have become anything but normal. The girls find out that ten seconds after coming into contact with water they transform into mermaids. After further experimentation, the girls also discover they have supernatural powers over water.

H2O - Just add water is about three teenage girls who can transform into mermaids.😮
After a night bath in a lake, everything is different and as soon as Cleo, Emma and Rikki come in contact with water, they transform and get a mermaid tail. After further experimentation, the girls also discover they have supernatural powers over water like boiling or freezing water. They try to keep their secret from everyone else which makes their everyday life anything but simple. 🧜♀️🌊

The underwater scenes have always fascinated me from a filmmaker perspective. Not enough films/tv shows do stuff like this, and if they do, they primarily use CGI so H20/Mako Mermaids really stick out for the practical swimming they do with the tails

yes! It's either CGI or really cheap tails where we can see the knees. It makes sense for them to make good quality tails with the amount of underwater scenes there are.

All this time i thought it was cheap cgi + green screening but now i have more respect for this show. Such detailed costumes and actual practice and effort in the scenes...🤯 amazing simply amazing you really did capture the magical essence of the series.

I’m actually glad this was in my recommend, just recently I was wondering why the show looked so realistic. I always thought maybe there was a tank in front of them with water and they were maybe fake swimming or something. It really has paid off and it truly does look realistic in the show.

It is super good, they are both main characters in it. You should check it out, along with the Vampire Diaries. And after watching that you should try Legaciesssss
@@acehearts7794 That isn't true, she didn't leaved for The Originals, the last episode of H20 was in 2010 and the first episode of TO was in 2013.
Also yeah, The Vampire Diaries is the best tv show ever written in my opinion, and i watched A LOT of Tv Shows, and yeah, after you watch the legendary TVD you need to watch The Originals and then Legacies.

Supernatural, Prison Break are my favorite shows, and listen to me, i watched A LOT of tv shows, these ones are by far LEGENDARY and oureaches every other show out there.
Supernatural has 15 seasons and this TV Show helped me a lot in real life and changed my way of thinking by 100%, and Prison Break i watched it like 5 times ( the only show i watched it over 1 time ), Prison Break is a VERY VERY VERY LEGENDARY TV show, i rewatched it 5 times only because of how smart the main character is.
I want to mention The Walking Dead too because my favorite character ( i even ordered a big canvas painting of him) of all times is in there, in the TWD Universe, he's status is unkown and they are going to make 3 movies about where he went and they are going to connect Fear The Walking Dead with The Walking dead and the ucoming The Walking Dead: World Beyond third tv show and the movies trilogy will come to, finale of Season 10 TWD is cooming up, this summer Season 6 of FTWD is cooming up too, i hope what are they going to do will outreach everything and there will be a historical moment in television, there are lots of people who says Breaking Bad was historical and all that shit, the TV Show is great ( and the spinoff Better Call Saul too ) but it isn't really that historical, it's good, but still..
I absolutely admire all the work that has being put in those tails, it looks like it took a bunch of people and a lot of time to make and also the effort the actresses made to learn how to swim with them.

You can get fabric tails that work with the mahina merfin from magictail.de that look like the h20 tails! You can also make your own tailskins for your monos!

H2O: makes amazing real tails that take hours of crafting and the actors have to learn how to swim with them

Lee Kiuya yeah, those tails probably took months to make. Siren is fine, but it makes it look way less real when they do cgi.
Ikr. But they still hold their breath. They make those noises in the water (technically they don't but it's still a little hard, I think) I can't open my mouth in the water how do these actors do it
when i see other mermaid movies' tails,I remember the iconicness of the H2O TAILS...other tails look like they were bought at Target
To be fair, Siren doesn't have as much of a focus on the actual underwater scenes as H2O does. While H2O is about the girls becoming mermaids, Siren is about a siren *on land*, so they probably couldn't have justified a high budget tail like this

You can buy silicone tails online. Finfolk is really nice, lots of different options. Pure silicone ( or mixed silicone) tails cost thousands of dollars though. They usually start at 2-3 thousand$

Anyone here in 2022?? My sister Was OBSESSED with this show more than anything I’ve ever seen and she has a very obsessive personality. She’s 21 now and I’m 19 and man even tho I’m much older I gotta give this show huge respect. I see why some many young ppl were obsessed with this show, they really went the extra mile to make this show have personality, right down to the amazing detail of the tails. This is how you build a strong community. Props to everyone involved with making this show, truly timeless
