Another reason I think people think she sound like Beyonce so much is her accent comes through her music. I don't think it's intentional though it's just the way she sings ans and her accent together.
In fact their tone is very different. And the frasing and the entonation too. What they have in comon is a very well conected mezzosoprano range and a lot of agility(and very wisely used). The two are great.

WHY SHOULD RACHEL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO "LEAD" OTHER PEOPLE THROUGH THEIR FAITH? In the bible it says in Philippians 2;12 "continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling..." Concentrate of you faith and salvation and get off your high horses because we don't ever go to heaven holding hands with anyone. DO NOT DENY THIS WOMAN OF HER FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION AND STOP JUDGING. My personal opinion is that I have always loved Rachel's voice but I felt in previous years that there was a conflict between what she wanted to sing and what everyone else wanted or expected to sing because of her christian background. Now I hear Rachel how SHE wants us to hear her and that is something we should celebrate and embrace. I am a God fearing huMAN and I want to express myself, God will not deny me this. I write love songs, I tell real life stories and I say things that relate to and inspire others but it isn't always a bed of roses and and halos on angels. It's not everyday and every song "holy holy Jesus" because there is more to our spectrum of expression than that and that includes you holier than though spectators. So kill the ignorance, support the sister and her process and don't pray for her because you think she's lost but pray for her giving thanks that she's finding her true self, being her true self and believe it or not inspiring others that it is OKAY to say how you feel.
