In another TV drama (Ruyi's Royal Love), Empress Ling is imprisoned for poisoning the 2nd Empress (Ruyi), which killed her. Her affair with the Emperor was supposedly short-lived.(Ruyi's Royal Love).. The Emperor showed her "mercy", and gave her a second and fatal dose of poison. I blame all of these inconsistencies on The Opium Wars that left China dazed and confused).
I just finished watching this drama and ooooh my god this hit SO DIFFERENT!!! I have never watched a Chinese drama nor cared about Chinese culture but i was DYING at the end of it and i cried for like 30 minutes because it was SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!! I became SO attached to every single character and this show is easily one of my favorite shows of all time!!! YINGLUO AND MY BABY MINGYUU I LOVE YOU

Congratulations to The Sotry of Yanxi Palace who gained much viewership and praise as it should of! It became the most watched Chinese drama of 2018 and also the most Google 2018 drama on the earth! Fantastic drama with beautiful painstaking costumes I couldn’t recommend it to anyone any more so!
I have Watched all 70 episodes of this drama within 5 days...it was like a journey... during these 5 days I feel all kind of emotions...like pain,joy, furious, anger,love,hate...and much more... I cried so many time during watching this drama so it's prove that it can touch my heart.❤️ This drama done deep impact on my mind...👍🏻
I'm so so depressed watching it... I came there for Xu Kai and finding him heart broken is so sad 😢... Also the wretched things the plotting and everything is so so depressing.. the poor empress was so kind and sweet but got unimaginable grief, betrayal, hurt and death in return. I'm only in my 40s of episodes and regretting watching it 😔😔😔
I just finished watching this drama two days back never thought i would be able to make it as it has 70 eps and I don't usually watch this types of drama. But i must say it's really a very good drama and i recommend it to everyone or they might have all watched it coz it's too good. I don't remember crying this much while watching any dramas. The portrayal of FL strong character gives immense satisfaction when she triumphs most of the time from the villains. And of course Xu Kai as Fuheng gave a major impact to make me emotional and sad starting from his marriage decision. I cried a lot especially becoz of him. I still feel sorry for Fuheng whenever i think about him.. just bcoz of his one mistake he had to loss all his happiness.. though i was angry at his decision couldn't just bear to watch him in grief and regrets my heart aches all the time whenever i see him. And I really hate that Emperor the person who is the reason behind Fuheng and Yinglou couldn't be together just out of his selfishness and pride was paired with Yinglou and later started teasing each other as couple.. i couldn't just bear to see them together it feels like a dagger pierced into my heart.. i still don't watch their scenes together whenever they appear on the screen(drama's video). I was expecting atleast the Emperor feel sorry for Fuheng in the end but it didn't happen and at last Fuheng died without any justice or pint of happiness showered to him. It was too painful to describe..i had to make myself spoiler alert in the middle about how and when Fuheng died as i knew he dies in this drama and i couldn't bear it anymore to see him in pain since I've already cried a lot bcoz of him. But got a lil bit of satisfaction when the writer shown Yinglou looking for Fuheng when she was going to die and she promised to be(strongly believe) with him in the next life which made us think she still had feelings for him. The maker made the right decision to cast Xu Kai as Fuheng i think bcoz of him it was able to make people more emotional and the drama hits different. The OST is awesome i even downloaded one of the songs and since then repeatedly listening and it reminds me of only Fuheng which makes me feel sad and teary eyed. In other historical or fantasy dramas (Xu Kai's) it hurts me a lot with all the dead and sorrow but not that emotional.. but in this drama i couldn't contain myself and kept crying while watching...even off watching i would still feel sad and cried many times by only remembering it may be bcoz I've experienced the somewhat similar situation of Fuheng earlier..also couldn't bear to watch Xu Kai's sad and regrets expressions. I hope he doesn't play 2nd ML again but at the end it depends on story and needs if the maker wants to torture people with full of sadness then they can. I watched this only bcoz of Xu Kai and fell in love with all the characters except for that mean Emperor. 10/10 for this drama. Just loved it.

I really enjoyed this Chinese drama. Based on the real life characters a very interesting story has been created by the producers. Performances of most of the actresses and actors are excellent including characters of Yingluo, emperor, empress, consort Xian, consort Gao, concubine Shun and Yuan Chunwang. Yingluo is a rightest, quick-witted and strong person with cleaver tongue. Her selfless actions to protect her beloved and innocent are really admirable. Both Fuca Fuheng and emperor loves her truly. She also loves both of them truly in two different ways. However, seeking revenge is the bad quality in her character.
I have completed all the episodes 6 months ago ..but can't get over of it and coming again to watch the trailer.. I feel really sad for Fuheng cz I shipped him with yinglou so much

After watching this show in 2024, I am definitely the fan. It's not the best ever C-Drama for me ("Nirvana in Fire" seems to be pretty impossible to beat), but a very, very good one for sure. And the Trailer definitely gives it justice.
Before I don't like to watch this drama, because I don't like polygamy, but when I start seeing a recommendation I tried, first I watch the Ruyi I forgot the title and then this Yanxi Palace, I was really hook to this drama because of Fuheng and Yinglou, but sad to say they didn't end up together, but I know they love each other until even if they have been separated by circumstances.
Can someone tell me if it is worth watching this till the end? I stopped at ep 40 because of, well, for those of you who've watched would know 😭 I was so devastated about that and ended up dropping it there! Should I continue?
I have seen both the series "Story of Yanxi Palace" & Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace but i think Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace is more realistic than Story of Yanxi Palace
Historically speaking then Yanxi is a lot more accurate but from the plots to the language in both dramas then Ruyi is more accurate. There’s no way Yingluo would have survived if she insulted/used/resisted the emperor at all even if the Empress was protecting her.
I am all for historical drama not since Anthony Hopkins performance in the BBC "War and Peace " (1972) have I seen anything that equals that until now!! I suppose if you wait long enough you will see another masterpiece like the " History of Yanxi Palace "

I'm watching this right now. I'm enjoying every episode.from the very beginning. I'm in episode 40. The royal maid yingluo and Fuca was the most interesting one. Oh wait the emperor and his favorite wife is getting interesting. I would of go crazy if anything happens to my son too. I'm already crazy when he was having a hard time in school. I made everyone life a living hell in all his school. And reported all of for every thing he was going through cause of them. I would kill anyone without hesitation when it comes to him. And he doesn't have to know about it. Cause it's none of his business.
I knew it was someone that had cause the fire and cause the death of the baby and the mother. Cause of envy and jealous over the emperor. What a horrible cunning. I always know when something is just a accident or when it cause by someone cunning. That's how focus I am about everything around me. Evidence and witnesses will be exposed. Once I figure out of your cunning. Oh, wait she did kill all the empresses out of revenge. Wow. That is cunning. I would of done it too. She better hope the emperor doesn't found out.

Historically, FuCha FuHung looked very much like the Emperor. In pictures they both had a mustache and beard. Sadness in their eyes, too.
