Welcome! Who is Diana Ankudinova?
Diana was born in May 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had 12 pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she abused the child and tried to drown it. One day this 3 year old child was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage. There she finally found love ... from Irina Ponik, a massagetherapist. Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared, but she could all sing songs from cartoons. A doctor recommended singing lessons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started …
Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her range C3-D6). Diana's voice also sometimes has a polyphonic undertone. You hear: Her voice sounds an octave below the singing voice. (But not everyone can hear that.) Diana also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl.
Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered a unique competition and won twice. This project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here as a juror, gave her a small apartment (37m²/398,26 ft²) in Moscow. There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers.
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier as normal, applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is totally normal and healthy ... and now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on RUclips. Two months ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of RUclips 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers.
Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Diana started singing from a young age as a way to overcome a speech problem caused by the trauma and abuse she suffered at the hand of her mother, who abandoned her at any early age with an injured collarbone on the streets of Russia. It would help you to research her past history which did not start very well(her mother was a terrible alcoholic).

There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well knows artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won this competition. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. Here are the 9 songs:

Yes - a great and unique new talent and a bright future. The World is discovering that they can't help falling in love - with Diana! She places herself fully present in the character of each song and this combined with her vocal skills brings her audience on the journey with her. WOW. What a deep voice she has . Looks like she is really good at singing but to be honest I don't like her voice . This is not kind of hate or sth like that. This is just my opinion .
"Really good" is one way to say it. Spectacularly amazing is closer. Of all the singers I've heard recently, only Floor Jansen and Angelina Jordan come closest to Diana's vocal skills. But I understand you. I get it. I have friends who aren't blown away by Diana. There is a physical reaction that Diana creates in most people, but not everybody. Her voice resonates inside my body and it's like I'm hypnotized/mesmerized/enchanted. My whole body quivers and vibrates. It really is like a magical experience. Most people know what I'm talking about. I'm sad that you, and some of my friends, don't get to experience that. Perhaps there is another singer out there who does it for you the way Diana does it to me.
