i can say taka sang it really good but arnel's voice as a journey lead singer fits perfectly on this journey song. i always love the raspiness and soulfulness on his voice.
When I saw the photo of Taka with Arnel, I had hoped that they could do a collaboration in the future but I never thought it would actually happen. You can imagine my shock when I saw the video in the search results. I grew up on Journey and they're one of my favorite bands so I totally loved this. FYI, Arnel is not the original singer. He is the current vocalist for Journey but Steve Perry is the original. It's crazy to think that Arnel has been with Journey for 13 years now, but if I'm gonna be honest, while he does a pretty good job of imitating Steve, Steve can never be replaced or perfectly imitated. Taka sounds amazing but he can't compare to Steve either. But with that said, even my dad said that Taka sounds better than Arnel. 😂 Proud moment, yo. OPEN ARMS!!!

SwiftDetae I think it was your sister who said he was the original, but ya. I think Arnel sounds good because he sounds similar to Steve Perry. You can definitely hear the difference between the two, but the way Arnel sings sounds closer to the original. (And that's probably why my dad is more critical of Arnel.) Taka's cover really fits these songs where the lyrics are just belted out. Like "Wasted Nights." And yeah, I would kill to hear Taka sing "Faithfully." That's my favorite Journey song.
As always..i find most ..if not all.. Steve P fans are the worst in comments section..why not enjoy and appreciate good music..AP immitating SP is bullshit ..AP has his own style and vocals..Taka.. you're awesome and you're added to my list of favorites
They have different tone of voice ..well your comment is for your own opinion only,but not everyone is with you..and dont compare the original and the replacement too,and Arnel is not imitating Steve voices, just a fact they really sounds similar.
