I think Bradley’s strength really comes from the fact he isn’t immortal like the other homonculi. Having more than one life to spare makes the other homunculi sloppy, since a single mistake wouldn’t cost them their lives like it might for Bradley. That constant risk of death combined with his superhuman abilities, wrathful personality, and intensive training he endured since childbirth is in my opinion what makes him an absolute killing machine that’s leagues above essentially everyone else in the show.
I love how the Nerf on Bradley is his age. What we are seeing is Non Peak Bradley. If Bradley was in his Prime, it’d be Game Over for everyone. Even the author admitted that.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure she straight up said if Bradley wasn't so old, the Elrics would have lost outright. The only reason he's not the best character in the show is because it's FMA and every character is amazing.
One thing I have always wondered is what Bradley would do if Greed just activated his shield around his entire body. Was there ever a reason given why Greed doesn't do that?
The fact that in the final and most epic ark of the show, this episode was without the main characters, and was just focused on 1/3 of the side characters just shows the quality of all characters.

This episode gave me massive respect for Falman, he really earned his place as one of Mustang's chosen men. He was willing to die to Bradley to defend the gate, and took the lead at defending from the new wave of Central Forces when Buccaneer was incapacitated.
In general, if I had one criticism toward Brotherhood, it's that it cut a lot of scenes from Mustang's team (apart from Riza). Falman and Breda in particular get some interesting focus from time to time in the manga, and it's almost entirely gone in the anime. Still better than what they got in the 2003 anime though.
Truly, rest in peace to Bradley’s voice actor. Such a good VA. Also, I believe the trope for the sword cutting through everything is mainly a swordfighting idiom(?). A strong sword is failed by a weak user, but a weak sword will never fail a strong user. In short, the trope is that someone with good enough technique can cut through anything with even a weak sword. This mainly comes from the way Katanas are used, and how Katanas will break and chip VERY easily when used improperly, i.e. not cutting straight through and wavering in your strike, but will cut through objects like butter if you make a straight and powerful strike. Slicing swords are preferred in traditional Japanese weaponry, so the myths carry on through Anime, even if it isn’t entirely realistic or accurate.
When I first watched FMAB, Bradley was my favorite character. Every time he is on screen I have to watch closely because he is not only a badass but a fascinating character, filled with very interesting thoughts and contradictions. He is the most dangerous homunculus during this last arc, and he is not even inmortal!
What an horrible life Hohenheim had before he met Trisha. Just imagine the loneliness to be immortal and to have inside you HALF A MILLION people. You are condamned to live alone and further you walked with a entire city like Fresno inside you. And not a cool city, a living tourmenting hell. Just terrifying.
What do you mean 0-3 for Greedling? In the first fight against King Bradley, Ling Yao was fighting with only 1 arm against both Bradley and Gluttony, while carrying an injured person with suicidal tendencies on the other, and still managed to fend off both of them, survive and avoid the injured person dying. That's a win. There's no way that's not a fucking win. Edit: and he ended up capturing Gluttony as well, it's 2-1 for my boi Ling, a.k.a. the secretly most broken character in the series.
Many people who know fiction better than me have said that Hoenheim seems like one of those "anime father" tropes, taken away from his family by the all-consuming nature of his work--in a profession that his son(s) go on to master, possibly subconsciously as a means of regaining a connection to their father. I'm not sure, but it seems that Hoenheim is both a critical and sympathetic foil for working fathers.

on how father "evolved" and can live outside his "container" i think its implied in this same episode that the entire room.. is his container now.. remember when he came out the body and all his eyes appeared.. there was a giant eye in the ceiling that opened up above him... suggesting his "evolving" was just creating a bigger container for himself to move around in.. or rather sit and be lazy and do nothing in xD also remember back to Pride when Mr Ho first encountered him underground... the entire tunnel that sloth dug is Prides container.. he can move freely in the whole tunnel systems.. butt outside the tunnel he needs his "human" body.. i feel the same is with Father.. his body is his container butt so is that whole underground chamber under central.. so in way both have a container within a container.. father in his body while underground would be like pride in his child body while inside the tunnel.. if that makes sense.. and id assumbe just like pride as long as he is in his body he can also leave the tunnels.. so imma assume father can leave in his body too .. well not anymore though as mr ho destroyed the body so father logically should now be defo stuck underground in that large container... also remember when general olivia was in the meeting with all the generals and father an sloth should up and father touched her shoulder.. if im correct.. hes only able to even be up there cause he's in his BODY .. which is now destoried and he ate it.. so logically he wouldnt ahve been able to go up to that meeting with the generals had he not had his body container.. he'd be stuck down underground in the larger chamber container.. and i l ike to think the TUBES where him slowly all this time simply expanding his container.. i feel the tubes once put in him.. act as part of the external container.. so in a weird way hes turning himself inside out i think.. as in he's funneling his insides out thru the tubes and around himself via the outside of the room also bradleys sword.. i like to think its made of the same stuff greeds armor is and lusts claws were... so greeds armor is "unpenatrable" yet lusts claws could "peirce" anything.. i think greed hinted that lusts could indeed peirce greeds armor hence why he made that joke to her "u can peirce me anytime" which is weird cause tahts like his "sister" xD i feel bradleys sword is somewhere in the middle.. its unbreakable like greeds armor yet not as strong as lusts claws hence why he cant break greeds armor fyi im saying lust could pierce even prides shadows... the reason why she is know as the having the ultimate spear that can pierce any substance is BECAUSE its made of the same stuff as greeds shield and prides shadows BUTT its pinpoint.. extremely small surface... example greeds ultimate shield is spread across his entire body.. while lusts ultimate spear is focus soly at her finger tips and focus attack on very small surface area.. not to mention the way she lunches them forward and teh speed/volocity at which she does it.. now think of bradleys sword if it is indeed made of the same stuff.. its gonna be nearly unbreakible YET able to cut thru nearly anything.. BUTT its still not as high volecity as lusts thrusts with her "spear finger tips" and its not all focuse into a tiny surface area.. so thats why bradley cant seem to hurt greed by hitting his armor YET his sword doesnt break in teh process nor from blocking greeds attack.. of course THIS ALL REST ON HIS SWORD BEING THE EXACT SAME MATERIAL .. if not then this is clearly a "plot hole" and a magic sword.. xD butt imma go with its the "ultimate sword" tahts fitting as we got the "ultimate spear" and "ultimate shield" also interesting to note.. greeds tat is on his HAND yet his power is the shields lusts tat is on her chest.. good place ngl.. but her power is the spears wraiths tat is on his eye and his power is to SEE/PREDICT yet has a SWORD that ironcially fits with the others "offense/defensive" abilities.. so in a way i like to think bradly has "two" the ultimate eye and the "unoffical" ultimate sword lol
About the sword, I just assume it's a "regular steel sword" despite being able to cut tank shells, just like how Armstrong is a "regular human" despite hurting Sloth with his fists more than tank shells, it's anime physics, and since Greed does manage to break the sword in two later, I'd say it doesn't have any in-universe special qualities. When Ed fights Pride later he mimics the ultimate shield with the carbon in his cold weather automail, and it turns the same dark grey color, which Bradley's sword isn't, so it's just a regular weapon in the setting.
We all now Bradley is a beast, but seeing Greedling fighting him alone not even using his entire shield and getting only a scratch on the face shows us they have some skills, actually the first time Ling fought Bradley he was caring Lan Fan and still could afford a one by one fight without getting touched. Sometimes we forget how skilled he is maybe one of the best at body fighting in the group.
Other shows that I'd like to hear your thoughts on are Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter. YYH would have less views than HxH though, because it's pretty old. And they're both from the same creator.
Personally, I believe there is no such thing as an impenetrable shield, from a theoretical standpoint. It's all about how much force it can resist. But I do think Greed's shield is *practically* impenetrable, i.e. no amount of force generated by a human, a homunculus, or a human-made weapon, can break it. You need to change the molecular structure of the shield to make it more brittle, like Ed did. That's one thing I like about this show. From a practical standpoint, it does stretch things a lot compared to reality, but from a theoretical standpoint, there are still things grounded in real-life science. Which makes sense, because alchemy is still a kind of science after all, and this world is similar to our world in a lot of ways.
well my understanding is that greed just arranges the carbon in his body to form some structure similar to carbon fiber, which is definitely very strong but not impenetrable. Or maybe he’s as dense as a diamond that can somehow move freely.

Yeah love Olivie but Bradley would slice her to pieces in a minute I know he can’t regenerate but he was my favorite homunculus of the series. This show is pretty air tight id say no more than like 6 episodes more if they gave more episodes that would be kinda filler/character development in d say go the way the original show went and have those episodes be as 2 that were extras in the dvd Roy’s and Izumi’s the other six 2 be bonding time with Maes Heuges and the same the other 2 bonding time with Nina before there deaths cause in the original show they were around for a lot longer and there deaths besides being more dramatic were more impactful.
The thing is that even if you can die multiple times there are ways you don't want to go... Especially if dying does not solve the situation... Back in the dark ages... wait those haven't happened yet in this timeline... Well anyway, after the Collapse and the Traveller made it's sacrifice to drive back the Witness Earth was not a good place. Scattered Human survivors scavenging for food, supplies and weapons, hunted by Fallen pirates, Cabal conquerors, and Hive ... what ever they are... Even when the Traveller's ghosts started finding and resurrecting the first Risen things did not improve... We were confused, alone, blessed with the ability to return from death and incredible powers over reality to face the threats surrounding us on all sides. We became tyrants... Using our powers to conquer, destroy and oppress our fellow humans... The Warlords of Earth... the name strikes fear into the hearts of Neptunian Children even after these hundreds of years as we Guardians fight on Neomuna's streets to defend the Neptunian people... But how come all of the Risen became these Warlords? Because Survival is a bitch and that brings me to the beginning of this little story... Tell me... Have you ever starved to death? It is one of the worst ways to go and I have kicked the bucket a lot of times in a lot of different ways... A pal of mine, actually my boss, Was revived in the middle of a wasteland no civilisation or even ruins for as long as the eye can see and likely a lot farther as well... He had to walk trough that Wasteland while starving, he would die over and over again every time he was brought back by his ghost, and every time he was still hungry... Now days? He is still a bit bitter although he hides it well and he has this interesting habit of cooking and eating almost everything he can get his hands on... Seriously I once heard him consider what Radiolarian Fluid would taste like, I mean Kabr could likely tell him if they weren't transformed into a Vex drone for drinking it... But I think that is enough from me for today. I think I've broken enough laws of time and space by telling stories of my world to an alternate timeline... Maybe someone should make sure I am not near Vex Tech when I get bored?

personally i think father just like pride has TWO containers... prides child body to walk freely OUTSIDE his TUNNEL container here i think fathers MAN BODY is his container INSIDE this CHAMBER CONTAINER hence the EYE that opened up in the ceiling.. i think thats what he means by "u think ur the only one capbile of evolving" thus why mr ho was confused how he could live "outside his container" when in fact both father and mr ho where INSIDE fathers container.. the WHOLE ROOM xD so if anything .. all that happened was mr ho simply destoryied the body container which ironcially should mean though fathers still INSIDE the BIG container.. he now shoudlnt be alble to leave it and go outside to the surface without his BODY which he ate xD remember when oliva wa sin the room with the generals and father showed up and touched her shoulder.. he need his BODY to even leave that room.. if that makes sense lol

It is one of the worst ways to go and I have kicked the bucket a lot of times in a lot of different ways... A pal of mine, actually my boss, Was revived in the middle of a wasteland no civilisation or even ruins for as long as the eye can see and likely a lot farther as well... He had to walk trough that Wasteland while starving, he would die over and over again every time he was brought back by his ghost, and every time he was still hungry... Now days? He is still a bit bitter although he hides it well and he has this interesting habit of cooking and eating almost everything he can get his hands on... Seriously I once heard him consider what Radiolarian Fluid would taste like, I mean Kabr could likely tell him if they weren't transformed into a Vex drone for drinking it... But I think that is enough from me for today. I think I've broken enough laws of time and space by telling stories of my world to an alternate timeline... Maybe someone should make sure I am not near Vex Tech when I get bored?
I'll be honest, I can't recall manga or show wise of the tubes on Father ever being addressed, and you're (once again) the only person I've seen ever try to theorised from it. And yet again your theory makes perfect sense haha

here i think fathers MAN BODY is his container INSIDE this CHAMBER CONTAINER hence the EYE that opened up in the ceiling.. i think thats what he means by "u think ur the only one capbile of evolving"
thus why mr ho was confused how he could live "outside his container" when in fact both father and mr ho where INSIDE fathers container.. the WHOLE ROOM xD
so if anything .. all that happened was mr ho simply destoryied the body container which ironcially should mean though fathers still INSIDE the BIG container.. he now shoudlnt be alble to leave it and go outside to the surface without his BODY which he ate xD
