Best Pairings for characters that joined in this video: Unfortunately there is no character. However I do want to talk about the boss Pheros. One of more interesting boss characters in this game. She is one of the few bosses that no one shares her portrait with other bosses. This is one of the reasons she stands out to me. She worshipped Naga before she joined with Walhart. She even visited Ylisstol to be a follower of Emmeryn. She seemed to really looked up to her and believed in Emmeryn's ways of peace and unity. I think what happened was that when Emmeryn died, she was devastated and became lost. As she was venerable Walhart persuaded her to bring balance to the world. She may also wanted revenge against the Grimleal because one of the big reasons Walhart wanted to conquer the world was to get the Fire Emblem and stop Grima to come back. What better soldier to recruit then Pheros who lost someone she followed and loved because of the Grimleal? I would love to live in a world that has Pheros join Chrom and she helps Emmeryn recover her memories. She also has honor because she hates Excullence and sees him as a dishonorable tactician. She certainly keeps some of her ethics that she got from her past. Some people also seem to like her enough to make her a waifu. Sounds like a bit of a cultured opinion but nevertheless could have been a good unit to have.
Actually one of the best villains in the game (tempted to even say the series) & wish she had a bigger role. Wouldn't even have minded if she replaced Excellus lol
Fun Fact: Excellus's VA (Spike Spencer) is not only Shinji from Evangelion, but also Marth/Mars from the ever-memed Fire Emblem OVA. Excellus is Marth from Outrealm confirmed
Super late on the etymology post today, was completely reorganizing my room. Gotta say, it's pretty Excellus in here, now! Anyway, Excellus is barely in this episode, so I won't cover him. Pheros time! Pheros seems to relate to the Ancient Greek word φερω (phérō), meaning "to bring, bear, carry (an inanimate object). In modern Greek, the word (now romanized as féro) can also mean "I behave". Her name may instead be a corruption of Pharos, a Greek word adopted into English to refer to ancient lighthouses or beacons for sailors, or to figuratively refer to something that stand out, or a shining light, which is quite fitting for the only Valkyrie boss in the game with a unique portrait and standout character. The Greek Φάρος (Pháros) refers to the Lighthouse (or Pharos) of Alexandria, a lighthouse made by the Egyptians that was formerly one of the tallest man-made structures on Earth and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World before being heavily damaged by earthquakes throughout the centuries. The structure was built on the small island of Pharos, but in the land near the island, Alexander the Great founded the city of Alexandria (again, Alex?). Julius Caesar had the Lighthouse captured when facing against Ptolemy XIII and the Egyptians, thus relating the Lighthouse to three massively influential empires, fitting for a loyal subject of a conqueror like Walhart. Worth noting is the strategical importance Caesar saw in Pharos of Alexandria, which can relate to how Robin and Say'ri see strategical benefit to taking Fort Steiger to face Yen'fey and Walhart. Pheros's Japanese name (フェルス) is officially Romanized as Fels, a surname from the masculine German word for rocks or cliffs. The name may also be a plural form of the Swedish word fel, 'wrong, erroneous; mistake, deviation' possibly referring to her deviations from the faiths of Naga and Mila. This last proposition I'm less certain on because I still struggle on the pronunciations of umlauts (even after a thorough Music Literature class, I have not clue how to say Göthe), the katakana of her name seems to be able to be read as förs, relating to the Swedish föra, which can mean 'to lead, to direct; to guide' which is very appropriate for a highly esteemed general. BONUS ROUND: Since it came up, yes, Nowi is supposed to sound like "No Way!". That's the joke, and it carried on with her child (we'll get to her). Her Japanese name (ノノ) is Nono, literally the word 'No' twice. Nono is also an childish, archaic word in Japanese to refer to God or Buddha, which makes a lot of sense for our bratty Divine Dragon.
In 3H I always rotate the camera to be going north on every map. Somehow that’s just intuitive to me. One map where the player is unambiguously going downwards is Conquest endgame
You can also move more quickly on the World Map with the Y Button, just like with the cursor in the maps. You also press Start to go to the current story chapter immediately. I love how the music switches from Destiny to Storm Clouds when the reinforcements show up. I can't really think of another map that changes its music partway like that, besides when a unit dies in Thracia.
Don't you technically not attack north in FE6 Chapter 8? You go up but it's the strange up then left then right then down then left loop around. The throne is near the bottom of the map as well.

Gaius x Nowi is great. According to .org wiki, Gaius will give Nah access to peg knight and thus Galeforce. I don't understand why this is the case, but sure. Having a rampaging dragon loli is bound to be fun.
As far as i know. Pegasi and Trubador are Female only and Fighter and Brigand are Male only. If a male has a daughter and he has the Fighter Class --> Pegasi If a male has a daughter and he has fhe Brigand Class --> Trubador For female wit a son it is the opposite
@@joe_simon Cool. However, Vaike has both Fighter and Brigand class but the wiki (and Serenes Forest) says Vaike-Nah's class set is: Thief, Knight and Mercenary. This is what I don't understand. I guess it just be the way it is.
I suddenly had an idea for future FE randomly, well multiple but it all kinda blends together. 1: A "Leadership" stat, which helps with recruitment of people, and possible provides small stat boosts when near allies, but only the one with the highest leadership stat on the current map gives any tangible bonus. 2: Conscription of soldiers. A big thing about fire emblem is how you're fighting in wars, but you rarely feel like you're actually leading and commanding many things. With this, you could recruit "Joe Smith" and get a faceless soldier for an army. You could get multiple armies and command a war, not just individual battles. For the final few battles, have a massive army fight an opposing one, while the main cast go and fight the demon, dragon, or whatever is the final boss. 3: Passing of time: Traveling takes time. If you want your troops to be in a battle, you need to travel there, and be prepared for battle. There wouldn't necessarily be a time limit (there could be on higher difficulties) but one might be able to get benefits, such as preparing and launching an attack before a certain date weakening the enemy because you caught them unprepared. Of course, there would also be some draw backs as well, you could have a certain amount of money each month to pay for maintenance and food of your army. You could also exhaust yourself by traveling to much without resting, weakening yourself. The way I see it, it's either a board with your armies on it, or a list of missions. I think the mission list would make more sense, you click "prepare", choose your army, and time automatically passes and go to battle, or you prepare multiple, and back to back you fight, with a chance to save inbetween. Any army you aren't using is considered "Resting" so they won't have reduced stats from constant fighting. Yes, constantly using the same army will cause issues. Possibly, preparing a mission that is a week or more of travel will cause issues. You can beat them, but doing a mission, "Gaining a foothold in the *Area* " would prevent this. You could also have them "Training" instead of resting, which will slowly accumulate experience, which will also have benefits for this next one... 4: Assigning generals. You can assign your characters as leaders for an army. They will act the same as a lord in other FE games, the army loses if they die, but it's not necessarily a game over, either. A character with higher leadership will give and get more exp while training. A character with low leadership can raise the stat by leading and training with their troops. A character who has been with a single army for long enough will give morale bonuses (Slightly boosted stats) as the troops get used to and eventually respect their style of leadership. A resting army gains respect for their leader faster as they become closer allies, and also might get other small bonuses on top of this from being well rested. What do you all think?
Other than the fact that he's voiced by Spike Spencer (who voiced Marth in the Fire Emblem OVA), I don't think much of Excellus. He's just very forgettable. I like the idea behind Excellus. He's a sleazy strategist who's stuck in a country where everyone just wants to go guns blazing. The Valm arc being so short however means there isn't a lot of time for this to be explored, and so nothing interesting is really done with it. Also, we finally see Walhart. Tbh, I still don't really understand why people like Walhart. I get Gangrel. He's the Joker, and people like that kind of character. But Walhart? I get that he's a neat concept, but the execution was just horrendous. His story arc is complete filler in the grand scheme of things on top of it being completely underdeveloped, his motivation couldn't really be explained until SoV revealed in a possibly non-canon post game that Alm discovered and encountered Grima about 3,000 years prior, and he absolutely no personality outside of being a very flat Genghis Khan archetype. Even when he becomes recruitable, he gains no significant character traits. Gangrel and Aversa's support dialogue do reveal quite a bit about them to flesh them out, but Walhart's support dialogue is just him going "I AM A CONQUEROR" and "PHEH, CONQUERORS SHOULDN'T BE DOING STUFF LIKE THIS!" for 3-7 whole conversations. That said, still better than Garon and the rest of the Fates villains.
Firstly, In awakening, they already establised that Walhart wants to kill the Grimleal and keep grima sealed, which is the entire reason why New Plegia helped Ylisse get to Valm and beat his ass. Once Valm falls, grimleal's main threat is down. Secondly, I think in the Robin supports, he talks about why he acts the way he does, by conquering all land he can instill peace and prevent future wars. So yea, he's fine. Thirdly, SoV Grima secret boss is basically canon.
I never understood why Pheros assumed that Chrom's army would attack a garrison led by a woman would be a softer target. It's not as if Chrom and co. knew that they were going to attack the fortress that just so happens to be led by a woman. Don't if this was a localization thing.
Realistically they probably do know who’s commanding the fortress. Over the course of the Valm arc the party seems to have a pretty firm grasp of where Yen’fay is, so it seems that their intel on Valmese forces are pretty good
Honestly, Pheros bothers me. I'd like her being honorable more if it wasn't for her "they think this fortress would be easy because it's lead by a woman" line.
If Basilio had counter, Walhart would have died in that cutscene
Lol, gotta romhack that
