- Jesus told a story of a farmer who planted his seeds by throwing them out onto the ground. Some seeds fell on the path and birds came and ate them up (This represents people who heard the gospel, but never believed for salvation). Some seeds fell among the rocks, where they quickly grew up, but then withered because they had no roots (this represents people who are excited to believe in Jesus but never chose to be His disciples. They have eternal life but none of the strength that God offers to those who follow Him). Some seeds fell among the weeds, they grew up but were choked by the thorns before they could bear fruit (this represents those who believe in Jesus and know to follow Him, but the worries of this world and the deceitfulness of sin keep them from actually following Jesus). But some seeds fell into good soil, they grew into strong healthy plants and produced 100, 60, or 30 times what was planted (this represents those who not only hear and understand the gospel but choose to believe in Jesus and follow Him). Be good soil, bear good fruit!
