Tetris DX didn't have much to offer anyone that already had a copy of the original Game Boy game, but for everyone else, this provided a solid bit of puzzle action on the go.
Tetris is one of the greatest games ever made. The original Game Boy was probably the best gift I have ever received to this day and I played hundreds of hours of Tetris on it, even two player head to head with the link cable, which seemed like space age technology at that point. I never played this version as I only owned the OG Game Boy but the colors/effects are cool. The music in this version sounds like it would be right at home in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. These days I play Tengen Tetris the most.
I played it to death on my og Gameboy as well. I remember the link cable game, that mode had Mario in it iirc? My favorite Tetris these days is the DS version.
@@NintendoComplete Ya if my memory serves me well it was Mario versus Luigi and you saw their faces on the right side. I might be wrong. I’ve never owned a DS, but I’ll check it out. I only owned the original GB. Tetris on the NES is the one video game my mom would play. I woke up late at night once as a kid in like 1990 and I saw the flashing light of the tv with no sound on - I basically caught my mom secretly playing Tetris. She then told me she loved it and I noticed she was really good at it too. Tetris attracts gamers and non-gamers alike! I’ll look up the DS version.
Just a colored, slightly updated version of the OG Game Boy release, like Link's Awakening DX did. No major difference. But a shame it doesn't have the original Type A song...
I'm really glad I had _Tetris DS_ . This looks great but doesn't have the wonderful ability to hold a Tetrimino, a really important piece of gameplay that really comes in handy when facing off against high level CPUs in the challenge mode.
From the looks of it, it seems like Tetris DX feels faster than the original version, which might be a good thing, especially with that DAS (Delayed Auto Shift). Hopefully we'll see this version on Nintendo Switch.
Do you think many classic Tetris players like Pixelandy and Fractal161 would play this version or do you think that they would all gravitate towards the S/NES and Game Boy versions?
Agree on the music, otherwise, i prefer this version, the new game modes are great. I have a pretty good highscore on Ultra, 245 000 on level 9. I was kind of obsessed with that, many years ago.

Very cool version. I like how the background colors change. You got “mad skillz”. :)

Nothing will ever beat the OG tetris GB type A music
Agreed. The music is the one thing that would make me hesitate recommending it to someone over the original.
For sure. That's THE Tetris song.
I love the shader, frame, and perfect resolution. Nice video
I love this version of Tetris because you can actually shift the pieces once they are placed It's amazing
I wanna say first but I gotta talk about how I had no idea Tetris looked this good!

Hey, at least in the case of LA DX you got an additional dungeon. 😅This has really no new features at all!
@@LPetal86 True.
Good port. Would be the *_perfect_* version if it had the original Type A music from the original Black and White version.
