    Great video, and nice pictures! That frozen waterfall looks really cool. I have a No. 2 Brownie myself, and I love shooting with it. One small thing - the aperture settings are actually f/11, f/16, and f/22.

    I'm a big fan of antique Kodak box cameras. I respond to the challenge of having a camera which can only take a dozen photos - so they'd better be good - and having few options; so I'D better be good. I finally got my hands on a No.1 Brownie, the 1900 $1.00 Kodak that made it possible for anyone to take photos. No viewfinder, no aperture settings - basically a box with a lens. Still, it's what was put into Ansel Adams hands when he was a kid - and look how HE turned out!
    I still shoot digital, but, when I load a roll into a camera it's like going from fast food to cooking my own meals. :)

    I really love this video! Thank you so much for taking the time to create such an informative review. I am including a link to your video in an article I will write about a brief history of the camera for a photo editing application's blog (PicsArt). It is scheduled to be released May 2, so you can find it there. thanks again!

    awesome video. I got one as well and I am looking for a cleaning kit that can reach in tight spaces in those 2 small preview lenses. What do you recommend? Q-tips is too large for those corners.

    great Video, I have a on old version of the camera, very basic. But the shutter stays open and even when I push the top down it does not always close. there is a small wire attached to the shutter, any idea where else it might attach to? just seems long to only go from the trigger to the shutter. thanks

    I own a Kodak 620, it belonged to my grandfather.... There is still a film inside, I wonder if there is still a snapshot shot by him....
    Anyway, I am thinking to try and shoot.... It takes any 120 film? Do you think I can use a standard 35? Because I saw that you can shoot 35 mm with a lubitel 2.....

    Great video Joe.
    My girlfriend just discovered a fully functional 2A in her late mothers belongings. Needs a little cleaning but everything works.
    The back says, "USE FILM No. 116". Is 116 available? If not, is 120 compatible? Either way, how do we acquire this film? Then how do we get it developed?

    Great information on the camera, would you happen to know if the No. 2 A Brownie Camera Model B. that takes 116 film, will it take 120 as well? Thanks

    • @JoeHyPhotography
      @JoeHyPhotography  8 лет назад

      Cathy B. you'd have to reroll the film from a 120 roll to a 116 spool. I don't know where you can find d 116 size film anymore.

    • @catey62
      @catey62 7 лет назад

      you can get 120 to 116 adaptors on ebay that will let you use 120 film in your camera without having to re roll it.

    I just found a kodak number two brownie and it will be my first time shooting analog. Since you can only fit 8 photos on a rol of film, how do you know how far to wind the film in order to take the next foto? I can't find this anywhere, I might be overlooking something but would love to know.

    • @JoeHyPhotography
      @JoeHyPhotography  3 года назад

      Hi Sera! There is a small red window on the back of the camera (shown at timestamp 2:50) each time you take a shot, you turn the winder until the next number shows in the center of the window. :) This also allows for double exposures, should you desire to do that.

    • @serawelling9119

      @@JoeHyPhotography Thank you! I still don't quite understand, because from what I know you can take different size photos on 120 depending on the camera, so are the numbers already adjusted to the type of camera?

    • @JoeHyPhotography
      @JoeHyPhotography  3 года назад

      @@serawelling9119 yes. If you ever look at the paper after your Rollins developed, there are repeats of numbers at different spacing
