Great video as always and wanted to say I appreciate you. Your boys are adorable! I love walking! Four days a week I do 30-45 mins of fasted walking on my walking pad before I weight train. I also try to walk for 15 mins after dinner especially if it’s a carb heavy meal. How do I motivate others to get up and move? For example: On Mother’s Day everyone ate way too much. After my meal I wanted to go for a walk because I did eat some cake and a few cookies. I asked if anyone wanted to come along. The only people that went with me was my husband and 10 year old daughter. Everyone else sat on the couch watching T.V. Two people even fell asleep on the couch. 😬 They are all overweight/obese but get irritated with my husband and I when we choose to do something remotely healthy yet complain when because they are gaining fat. We constantly hear “you guys are too extreme!” They don’t understand that this is a lifestyle change for us. My husband lost 90 lbs and I’ve lost 50. We are not going back to our old selves! I’m just tired of all the negativity from family members who are supposed to support us.
Unfortunately they are jealous and taking out how they feel on the inside on you all! You prob feel like you can’t win with them! But you’re an example and you can’t make their decisions, but maybe one day they will change their ways!
Love this. I keep telling ppl that ask me how I get so many steps; to at-least get 6,000-7,000 steps you will see progress with consistency in nutrition workouts. I do 20,000 daily in the week and the weekends 10,000. Loved this video! Thanks sis. Definitely going to share with the fitness communities im in.
@@MichelleRoots I prefer fast walk outside since I'm on intermittent Fasting mode, I barely eat, drink unsweetened green tea for most part, no sugar in my organism, and of course 12km daily fast walk. I feel great and I noticed that I'm not craving sugar anymore. I also eat 200 cal daily in the morning and spend 800 to 900 cal in fast brisk walk, I'm on day 10 and feel lighter every morning
Another benefit to walking is that after I have a major surgery, later this year, walking on a regular basis, will be an integral part of my 6 week recovery plan. :)
Hi Michelle: Does doing RUclips walking workouts count? I do them all the time. I switch with my treadmill. Where we live, we do not have sidewalks. Thank you.
I’m finally getting to keep my core tight when I walk my brisk walks 😅 it takes time to learn to keep it all in mind, I walk for a while and remember oh my core is all relaxed 😂 , now it’s a normal thing to have it in. My only worry is that I keep getting blisters on my feet right under the big toes, I think that it’s probably because sometimes I wear different shoes. But I keep going, I empty the blister and put padding on and it doesn’t bother me anymore.
Been walking everyday consistently for a few weeks now. Gone from 5km a day now up to 8km a day. Going to increase 1 km every week. It’s quite time consuming. Once I get to 10km per day is it better to split the walk to eg. 2 x 5km or one big walk? Does splitting it give the same benefit.
Great job on making walking a priority. I would say whatever works best with your schedule and you can stick to consistently. If you find doing 10km every single day is taking too much out of your day - maybe do that 2-3 times a week then 5km the other days?
Hi Michelle, if I do a 30 minute walk per day at 4.4 - 4.8 kms per hr and 4 strength training sessions a week, does this mean I am lightly active? I am just unsure what to enter when using the calorie calculator. Or would this classify as sedentary? I would love your advice on this. Thanks very much!
I get up at 5:30am to walk for 45 mins on my walking pad, or try going for a walk on your lunch break or after work. Even 30 mins of movement a day can go a long way - even if it’s broke up in 2-15 mins walks :)
They make desk tops that you can sit at and then hit a lever and it raises to stand, then put a walking pad underneath and you're getting your steps in then

I’m 25 and just had open heart surgery and for my recovery I was literally prescribed walking 😂
Love it!! Walking is my favourite “cardio” 👌🏼👌🏼
❤

Yes it's all about consistency! Glad you liked the video and thanks so much for sharing it!
Main takeaway was build on where you're at! Don't try jumping from 2,000 to 10,000. And, I just bought the walking pad on Amazon. 😁
Great takeaway - and you are going to love the walking pad!!!!

Yes!!
I just had open heart surgery and walking has been apart of my recovery and I’ve started loving it ❤ I pray your recover and surgery goes well ❤
I got a walking pad a couple months ago and so glad I did! If it’s hot or weather just prevents going outside then I have that option! 🎉
YES! I am obsessed with mine lol!
you are a very wise personal trainer.
I recomand soon your videos to my wife.
Respect - from Italy
I appreciate that!
I love my walking pad too. I park at the end of the parking lot. I always take any opportunity to get my steps in.
Amazing!!!

Yes those are a great option mixed in with treadmill for sure!
Thanking you very much Michelle
No problem!!!

Do you recommend training on an empty stomach? I hear it’s supposed to help burn fat quicker! Do you agree??? @MichelleRoots

Good question 🙋♀️ me too
When walking on a treadmill I feel the need to walk on an incline . Is it necessary ??
Nothing wrong with walking on an incline! I walk on a flat walking pad, but both are great!!
To increase the intensity and incline is great.. 😊
Do you have a video talking about what zone 2 is?
Yes I do! You can search zone 2 in my videos and I have a whole video talking about it!
Always great advice!!!!!😍😍😍😍
Omg I'm in Richmond, where did you get your walking pad?
Awesome! Local!! I got it on amazon - it's linked in the video description :)
I wish I could get in all those steps but I work in design and I literally sit at a computer at home all day. 😢
Use Lunch time, wake up earlier, do it after work

I’m a big proponent of walking. If you can walk there, 🚶♂️ do-
Yes agreed!!! 👏👏
