I went to Avebury in the 1970s after watching a BBC series with Rene Cutforth walking the Ridgeway calling at all the sites on the way it has always stayed in my mind I must go back there thanks for reminding me 👍
Such a lovely county Marq, Wiltshire is very special. I really enjoyed this one and looking forward to the others in this series 🥰 I’m sure I can feel the energy you describe sometimes, walking in certain places evokes a magical feeling which is hard to explain
It is quite noticeable that the very rural churches are open! And the town churches are locked shut! I enjoyed going round this one! I have only ever been to Avebury & Silbury Hill. The sign at the beginning pointed towards Ivinghoe Beacon which is not too far from us! Thanks Marq!
The wonderful Wiltshire downs! When you were talking of the route down to Dorset would that be the Wessex Ridgeway? I love these old byways - today I was at South Stoke church near Arundel which apparently is on the route of a pilgrim way called The Old Way between Southampton and Canterbury. I often wonder what it would be like to live in one of these ancient landscapes with all the energies around.

I think the Wessex Ridgeway is a different Path. The Old Way runs a lot around The North Downs Way as well.
