I started a deathrun a couple days ago. Liking it a lot, especially the random starting location. My life pod sunk to 100m in the kelp forest. Made getting to and from it annoying at first, but I got to ride out the explosion easy. It knocked around a couple waterproof lockers I had though, took awhile to find one of them. I’m enjoying seeing the differences form my run and yours.
My lifepod ended up 112m down in the NW kelp forest, only about 100m from the NW mushroom forest. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but like you said, it made a perfect place to ride out the explosion. Plus I had access to shale outcrops early on, which was awesome. The explosion messed up my lockers too. I thought they were lost for good, but then I found them by the edges of cliff walls surrounding me, so it was all good.
Yeah i had a buncha mic problems, from it corrupting twice to the timeline somehow reversing the entire frequency (how) though ill fix it in the next part
I'm about 10 hours into this mod, though I'm a wuss and I'm playing in survival mode mostly on "hard" rather than "deathrun" settings. It has still managed to bring bring back the abject terror I felt during my original playthrough of the game. Warpers are brutal even on hard settings. I have a feeling that a lot of my deaths will be due to creatures, especially warpers, as I progress to the more dangerous areas. (My very first death was by fire before I even left the lifepod. 🤣 I got disoriented by it flipping over, fell into the fire, and died.)
check out this cool man
