Absolutely, language loss is just as real as language acquisition. I used to be fluent in Greek as a child, but my parents stopped speaking it because I was developing an accent. Now I can't speak it for the life of me.
Yeah isn't it so wild? I feel lucky that most of it is just very deep down in the archives of my memory but at one point my french used to be better than my native language (dutch) and now it takes so much effort to find the right words for things 😅
I love this Babbel! I am currently learning German and have started to learn Dutch as well! We are visiting Munich and Amsterdam in the fall so I wanted to be able to communicate with locals more easily!
