My brother lives in rock hill SC. Been in charlotte many times and is just so beautiful. Love uptown and how green both states are. Saludos desde Costa Rica
Thanks for sharing your visit to Charlotte! We plan to explore The Carolinas in depth next year. We like to listen to a scanner app when we're at the airport too. You can hear the pilots and air traffic controllers talk to each other.
What a coincidence, I became a 1st time subscriber yesterday. Just now on I26 heading back to my home in Florida. I moved there from Charlotte 3 years ago. I was staying with my sister in Tega Fay. 2 miles from the campground. Johns was one of our favorite "hang outs". Very nice review of Charlotte NC. Thanks for the video.
Hi Robert, listening to you talk about your trip on the podcast is good but actually seeing it is awesome.. You really do your video justice by giving great reviews of the area.. Also good job hanging with Brian from RV Illustrated.
Howdy Robert, just watched your great video on Charlotte here. What a nice way to end my Sunday. Thanks for sharing this new 'pearl' buddy.Cordial greetings from Bruges in Belgium.William
Never seen any of your videos before, but I love this...and only partly because it's about my city, Charlotte. ;) This is so well made and relaxing. I'm now a new subscriber.
One of our favorite places to visit is North & South Carolina. Looking forward to your video on Charleston! (we'll be down there in a few weeks for a wedding and can't wait to explore town)
Nice travel Robert, again you take me back to memory lane :-) I been Charlotte, Lake Norman, and surrounding areas many times. Fun fact: next time you go downtown Charlotte visit Fuel Pizza (Tryon Street) that is the place where they filmed Shallow Hal in 2001 and Gwen Paltrow broke the chair :-D There is some signs inside showing the movie scene. If people don't know - then watch movie so funny! Also do you have more video coming to show Charleston...? That area Charleston, Savannah, and St Augustine have similar histories and if you spend much time at each city you notice they resemble each other in many ways.
HAHAHA... I'm starting to think your following me. First Matlacha, now Charlotte. Hope you have a great time and safe travels. Just for the record, I love the Matlacha life style soooo much better.
well neither. i'll be along the coast in North Carolina: Chocowinity, Newport, Cedar Point for 16 days. and about 80 miles south of Charleston in Yemassee, SC Charlotte i drove around last May.
Fun fact, there are many, many transplant Floridians in the Charlotte area. I moved to Mooresville 6 years ago from Fort Lauderdale and I not looked back. I was at a taproom a couple of years ago and the majority of the people in the bar were from Florida..actually all were except one from Michigan....none for NC!. Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, but it has become too crowded for me. Moved to a rural area near Lake Norman and love it. I still like to go "home" but I see it as a tourist now.
Robert, very nice video and commentary around Charlotte, Mooresville and Lake Lur...oops, Lake Norman. (Lake Lure is a wonderful area, by Chimney Rock from whence you drove to Charlotte.) My stomping ground is/has been for many years, about an hour west of Charlotte. I've been boating and fishing on Lake Norman. The drive from the valley town of Chimney Rock up to the rock is a beautiful 12-15 minute trip. You can easily find views from the rock, overlooking Lake Lure and area. I see you uploaded this video, middle October. I guess you were only days early for the gorgeous, Appalachian autumn colors. My latest drive up to the top, Nov 22, 2017, as the colors were diminishing. The uploaded video is very good, but for whatever reason, RUclips's return streaming of it is horrendous. Come back when you have some time. The elk, bears and other homies may add to your imaging. Your video editing is very good. Oh, I just saw your Chimney Rock State Park video on the right, haha. Again, very nice depiction of Charlotte. (Back. I just watched your CR video and think it's one of the best of the area. You may know there is an elevator from a tunnel behind the Cliff Dwellers souvenier shop to the level of the rock. It has been closed for a long time for repairs. It was still out of order when I was there recently. I came back to this video to speak well of your Chimney Rock video. Maybe it'll send some people from here to it. Okay, I'm gone. Thanks again.)
That building definitely looked like a bottle opener, but that (unfinished on purpose) "Tower of Babel" building is creepy. I have my R Pod in my driveway. It's so cute!!!
May you please visit Cabarrus and Rowan county!!! It’s been my hometown since I was born. Here are the towns and city’s I hope you should visit!! Concord mills NC,Concord NC,Kannapolis parkway NC,Kannapolis NC,Landis NC,China grove NC,Salisbury NC,Granite quarry NC.
I hate RV parks that are “parking lots”, unless it’s just a stop over for one night, I avoid them. I have seen some nice RV parks change to parking lots to capitalize on popularity of RVing. Maximize the land you have does make sense, but at what cost? I guess state parks is more my style, but I’m sure we will see the same from them as Trump cuts all funding to what RVers enjoy most.
I agree. The KOA Robert stayed at is one of the better options for going into Charlotte. Unfortunately, there are not any RV parks in the area that automatically comes to mind that you "should" stay at in the Charlotte area. They are either parking lots as mentioned, not a nicer option, or if they are nice, and then they are 40 miles from Uptown Charlotte. You have Lake Norman State Park up near where I live, but it's 40 miles from Charlotte and its not that great of a place for RV's. The sites are really unlevel and there are no hookups. There's a couple county parks that are closer, but I have only driven through one and I think it may be worse than the state park. Carowinds has a rv park and with some work, it could be nicer. Especially for what they charge. But you will have the noise of the park.
Love me some Traveling Robert ❤️👍😎😘🥰
7:17 that blue car was me omg
Charlotte is my home town. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
Yes I did

I use to live in Charlotte, I’ve been to every place that you went to. Charlotte is alright I’ve had a lot of good times there.
Seems to be a fine city. Wish I had explored more.
Thanks for sharing your visit to Charlotte! We plan to explore The Carolinas in depth next year. We like to listen to a scanner app when we're at the airport too. You can hear the pilots and air traffic controllers talk to each other.
Air traffic control chatter, while almost unintelligible is really cool to listen to. I'm glad you liked my video

SKPjoe Coursegold where you going to be? Charlotte or Charleston?
well neither. i'll be along the coast in North Carolina: Chocowinity, Newport, Cedar Point for 16 days. and about 80 miles south of Charleston in Yemassee, SC Charlotte i drove around last May.

I will too migrate north at some point... maybe a piece of land in the mountains. South Florida has gotten too crowded, too stressful, too expensive
Be sure to check out Magnolia Plantation while you are there It is truly beautiful.
OK, will do... next time

Hello Uncle Robert
Hello there
Wait...you went to the Barcelona but not next door to the huge Antique Mall? You missed out!
A Floridian and their Publix - what God has joined together, let no man put asunder. Ha ha ha.
You know it, we love Publix :-)
Lorri Lewis Harris teeter is better 😂
Spectrum is home too the hornets
My neck of the woods for 12 years. NC is not the place to be. 😂 I prefer Georgia
Try visiting Greenville, SC. They have a beautiful downtown with a waterfall.
I will... almost did this trip

He screwed you by not stopping at What A Burger drive-in 8:01 and going to that gimicky place.
Why didn’t you take your wife to Charleston? Are you still together?
She had to go back to Miami for work. Of course we're still together.

+K2 Generally if you want to be close to a city you're stuck with a parking lot.
That's true, I guess I missed that fact in my thought process.
