Thankyou James for another fab V8 Vantage video. 3 yrs ago, with much knowledge gained from yourself. I took the plunge on a 4.7 The best purchase I've ever made. Thank you James as without your vids I would never have been brave enough. Ooh.. Its also had the Bamford Rose clutch and power upgrade. What a machine! Problems in 3yrs .. a £6 oil pressure switch, and my rear light got water ingress as they all do. Thats it other than thourough servicing and petrol. Cheers James and keep up the stirling work 🙏🏻
Same here, but I do miss the manual a bit. Although when I tell people it's a '09 AM Vantage, they're shocked it's that old. Not many designs age quite as well.
@@bonwatcher I also have a 2009 late model 4.3 but it has had the twin plate clutch tightened flywheel, 200 cell cats, equal length headers with a remap to make it all work, brings the 380 to around that of a stock 4.7 but the engine spins up so well and pulls from much lower in the rev range. It's never going to trouble a Golf away from the lights as they and other modern stuff have auto boxes and launch but once moving it holds it's own.
@@user-qq2mo1ek2ryou'll be surprised how many people just do not care for pulling away at the lights. I love high-speed cruising, where you have to be comfortable at 190-220kph and keep that for an hour or so. Very few Golfs (or Mercedes B) will keep up.
When Mr Ford went to Le Mans in1966, he had run his "cooking" 7 litre Galaxy/Failane engine on a dyno, simulating endless laps of the race circuit for 48 hours, up and down the rev range, to try to ensure adequate reliability. That was equivalent to over 6000 hard miles. The engine was "safe" to 7000 rpm, but could not last much more than 40 hours, so was limited to 6200 rpm in the race. Happy schoool-days!
Jay, love the video. I have ALWAYS loved Aston’s for many reasons. Sounds like this was properly upgraded! Not sure I love the interior colour but that’s a relatively easy fix. I’ve recently been looking at Jaguar F-Types as a car that I’m going to buy within the next 6-9 months. I haven’t driven both, but in my mind, the F-Type is a lot like the Aston but quite a bit less expensive due to the higher depreciation. Both are ‘sexy’ cars. The Jag, with the V8 has a crazy amount of HP and noise. It seems like I can get the Jag for 50% less than a comparable Aston Martin and that’s where I’m leaning. Again, thanks for this video - great car and great sound!!
The Jag with it's V8 and supercharger is a much quicker car than the Aston, but it's not an Aston .... Just a Jag and aside from getting to 60 quicker it's no where near being the event that an Aston brings every time you drive it. Nice car though.
I think Duncan is a stand up guy. In today's culture of not keeping a car for a prolonged period, it's refreshing that he's done this. He's had this for 12years...so good for him. I am envious of not being able to do this to mine, but I can assure you that if I had the cash and, against all sensibility, I would throw 15k at the Gta without blinking. Only makes sense to me, but it only has to make sense to me 😊
The main problem with a heavily modified car like this and why I've never personally gotten into really pricey engine projects is that replacing the car then becomes so much more complicated and potentially costly. What happens if it gets seriously damaged or stolen? Maybe you can get an agreed value policy etc, but it's certainly another layer of fairly major complication.

9:20 I‘m not sure if I understood it right but wouldn‘t taking material away from inside the head decrease the compression ration? Maybe someone could explain the maths to me? I think the cause of the increase lies in the before mentioned increase in bore and stroke. But please correct me, I‘m no native speaker and no trained mechanic, only a hobbyist. Thanks
The DBS wheels do look tasty on this one! But I'm not entirely sure about the spacers on the rear. Do they actually make any difference to the handling of the car or are just they for the visuals?
I'm in my 50s and I'm more interested in investments that could set me up for retirement , I mean I've heard of people that netted hundreds of thousands during these crash, I listened to someone on a podcast who earned over $650K in less than a year, what's the strategy behind such returns?
You're not doing anything wrong, you just don't have the required skillset to profit off a down market, folks that are making profit in this market are pros and experts with in-depth knowledge and skillset.
A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.
How can one find a verifiable financial planner? I would not mind looking up the professional that helped you. I will be retiring in two years and I might need some management on my much larger portfolio. Don't want to take any chances.
“Melissa Jean Taligdan’’ is the licensed fiduciary I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment..

You won't regret the maserati. Because aston is wicked and weird.
So, are the plans, items to get this done, available in the USA?
Hi Jay, Can they do the same to a standard 4.7 Vantage and increase that engine to 5.0?

Do they do something similar to the 4.7? That would be spicy
Yes, I have it done to my AM15 (4.7 GT) car. It’s totally worth it.

Would also retain value.
Oh man…I just saw in your video for the first time that the tachometer needle rotates counter clockwise…why, Aston Martin? WHYYYYY????

It's what happens when you put in sports cats and open the backbox. The 4.3L is really bad for it, the later ones have more cats so sound different
