Absolute BEAST brother, perfect specimen of a largemouth, CONGRATS!!! 6lb. 14oz. is a GORILLA, AWESOME. Great job once again with the handling and release, KUDOS!!! Was she a pre-spawn? On another note, I stuck a 6lb. 4oz. on 11-1 if you wish to check out the vid. I LOVE throwing BIG native shiners and I could just imagine the MONSTERS you would hook into in the areas you fish. If you were to pump an 8-inch native into those pockets, the EXPLOSIONS would be INSANE!!!
Also, those swimbaits look AMAZING, I'm going to give them a shot next season. Your preference for rigging them? I was thinking a large, weighted swimbait hook 7/0 or 8/0.
The trash fish fatty swimbait is one of my favorites all time. I was throwing it on a 3/8oz 6/0 owner beast which works well for shallow water. When i fish it in deeper water i throw it on a 1/2oz 8/0 owner beast. That fish was caught back in April 2021 and it was the same exact bass i caught in April 2020 when she was 6lbs 7oz @ 21.25" so she grew about a half an inch and half a pound from the year before. I'll edit and post the weigh and release of that fish when i first caught her in 2020 she also had a tail of a bass hanging out of her gullet. Awesome, I'll check out the video of your 6-4 today.
@@iswimbait88 Thanks for the info brother. Catch and release TRULY pays off. If that bass would have been at her full peak before spawning, easily low 7's. My dad's friend Tony caught in 1985 a bass during the spawn that was officially weighed at 10lb. 2oz. If you would have seen the gut on this fish, you would SHIT your pants. Tony asked us to release her the next day, he did not want to mount her. When we seen her in our fiberglass bait tank we knew she spawned out in the tank, VERY SAD!!! We weighed her before release and she was 9lb. 4oz. That is a crazy differential in weight. Being 18 years old at that time, that's a memory imbedded in the brain. Sorry for the long story, just thought YOU would appreciate it. On my channel I have a release vid from 1995 of my friend's 7.7 pre-spawn BEAST, WHAT A SPECIMEN!!!
That's a huge fish that would be a lasting memory for any fisherman. My biggest so far has been 8lbs @ 23.75" fishing with my dad back in September 2017(would have like to have seen that fish pre-spawn) and that was my 1st big bass ever & thats what started my journey into hunting down the state record. Since then I've landed 33 5lb bass and 11 6lb bass & lost some freak bass along the way.
@@iswimbait88 First off, AWESOME catches!!! Second, fishing with your DAD, TRULY AWESOME!!! Miss mine TREMENDOUSLY, unfortunately lost him in "93". Enjoy EVERY MOMENT with your DAD, especially on the water. My dad had to his credit 18 over 7, 3 over 8 and one pressing 9 that jumped out of his cooler before he could officially weigh it in. Me personally, countless over 5 and 6, but I've never broken 8lbs. but have 9 over 7lbs., biggest being 7.14. I saltwater fished for years and had a family (3 kids and 2 jobs) which took me away from largie fishin' for some time, but 57 now and I'm back at it. I love seeing young anglers such as yourself stickin' BIG BASS! Being a HUGE fan of your channel I'm routing for your DREAM, you have the skills and the fisheries. Also, I've been blessed to see two other MONSTERS at our local tackle shop, guy Al with a 10.1 on a spinnerbait, not sure of the year, and a BEHEMOTH 11.4 caught through the ice in Feb. 1993. Massachusetts has had its fair share of trophies for the past 50 years. Our state record is 15.8 (1975), through the ice, CRAZY!!! Second biggest is a 13.5 caught (1976), biggest on rod and reel, out of Muddy Pond, Carver MA which is the same pond my dad's friend stuck his 10.2. I've got a GREAT feeling about your goal and believe me; I am looking forward to seeing that video!!! I just wish we had the technology of today back 40 plus years ago, what captures we would have had. I have a lot of vintage slideshows/pictures on my channel if you look at my oldest posts. I do have a small tribute vid in honor of my dad, he was the MAN back in the good ol' days!!!! It's a REAL PLEASURE talking to you and I wish you the BEST OF LUCK, not only to you but to your father as well.
Nice job 😀👌👏🍀
Nice bass man and awesome channel! I’ll subscribe for sure!
