Well, I guess the universe has decided that 'we' is soon to become 'me', as an aggressive brain tumour brings to an end a wonderful era, an enduring marriage, and a life well lived. These are the dark days that mark the end of the cancer journey, and all of my time is currently wrapped around my partner.

We are mindful that as people living in a first world country, we have lived our entire lives in greater comfort and luxury than the wealthiest and most powerful kings enjoyed throughout most of human history. We have lived at the peak of the carbon age, when the energy derived from carbon stored in fossil fuels has rapidly advanced modern civilization and provided us with ease and leisure beyond the wildest imaginings of those living just a century ago - so we can hardly complain at a life well lived :)
I’m so sorry to hear that one of you is coming to the end of their journey and I hope that your remaining time together on your beautiful land is peaceful, as special as possible and you find comfort in your piece of heaven on earth. I’m so sorry. My father had brain cancer , stage four Back in 07 I was 17.. if I can give one suggestion it’s to just appreciate and enjoy ever moment you have with this person” the simple times”. Even when it gets tuff and mentally exhausting. Know that you have to be strong for them .. they need you as much as you need them . I will pray for you both. And may you find peace . I also wanted to say thank you for the channel I found a satisfaction watching these different species interact with each other. Such a beautiful symbiotic relationship. I am sorry to hear for this. On the one hand, it seems you both have had a wonderful time together with access to nature and therefore together a life well lived which is fundamentally what life is all about imo. Again in my opinion there is no such thing as good endings, the life is to lead during our living and the end is a natural negative in contrast however we may go though to do so on our own terms again imo is best in the spirit of living life well all the way and reducing the negatives eg pain and loss of ability. I hope if these words are read it is helpful reflection. Thank you very much for sharing the wonders of the natural world and it seems as said you both have lived a life well lived very well: That's the focus for everyone surely in life. I hope that brings a lot of positive thoughts and feelings to you both from some of your viewers of this lovely life-affirming channel. I agree with you on all counts - firstly, we are incredibly fortunate to have lived as we have lived, where we have lived, when in history we have lived - even kings could not have imagined living in such comfort and luxury just a century ago. Secondly, there are no good deaths without sensible and humane assisted voluntary dying laws. In Australia, we do not have adequate access to such measures, so end stage cancer means drowning in your own fluids in slow motion in a state of suffering that you wouldn't put a cane toad through. 😕
