Of course we would appreciate a James Bond minifig in this but so far Creator Expert cars have always been just model cars. Going that route we should have had some Surfer Guy in the T1 Camper Van, Mr. Bean in the Mini Cooper and the Queen of England in the London Bus. :)
Seriously, this era of LEGO never ceases to amaze me with the level of engineering. From something big like this to the very small like the Slimer Brickhead. They're getting so complex in such tight spaces. It's kind of astounding!
When I saw the leaked photo, I wasn't very impressed by the authenticity of the looks. But NOW! Being a Technic fan, I REALLY appreciate all the functions. I might just order this today! Thanks for the review guys!
BrickVault Why call it a 007 set if your not gonna have minifigures might as well just make an aston martin without the james bond brand on it. I hope this set atleast has some nice prints.
Randomgames with Daniel It's a 007 set because it has many features specific to the 007 car as shown in the video. I don't think this car came with machine guns, tire scythes and an ejector seat stock LOL. Not to mention the scale of this car does not match minifigs at all.
Which one though? Connery? Moore, Lazenby, Dalton, Brosnan, Craig?? the discussions would be endless... Connery for me btw.. Also the car is not minifig scale..
Q has always been played by a male actor: Desmond Llewelyn, John Cleese and Ben Wishaw. Peter Burton played Major Boothroyd, a sort of 'version' of Q. You're probably confusing Q with M, Bond's boss, who was played by a woman, Judi Dench from 1995 to 2012; or M's secretary, Miss Moneypenny, who (obviously) has always been female.
rec0il Gaming You're thinking of M. Who was played by Dame Judy Dench in the recent films. Although even M was a man, for all the earlier ones. Or maybe you're thinking of Moneypenny I dunno I'm not in your head.
Was hoping this would be a speed champion size JB release. Maybe that will happen in the future. As for these creator cars I like the Caterham best. It lends itself well to a Lego build.
Good effort especially given how rounded the panels on the actual DB5 are. If this is the first of a planned series of 007 vehicles, then the Lotus Esprit from TSWLM would be a great choice for a future 007 Lego set.
I just got this set and from this review i know its going to be a great build and an even better model to play with! Thanks Brick Vault, I watch your guys's videos nearly daily!
Damn those licensing fees! This costs £45 more than the Creator VW van despite having roughly 100 less parts!! I will get it though as the working features look very cool!
Imagine the Spy Who Loved Me Lotus which can change into a submarine through clever use of Technics pieces. Then imagine the cost. Probs cost more than a real Esprit!!
Love the set waiting for mine to arrive. Only slight disappointment for me is that the Aston Martin badge could have been a printed piece instead of a sticker. Would have made a big difference. Also having the lego group and part number written on the tyres sort of spoils it a small amount.
There's no hidden messages in the number plates. All as seen in the James Bond movies - apart from JB-007, of course. Different plates for different areas in Europe - United Kingdom = BMT 216A, France = 4711-EA-62, and Switzerland = LU 6789.
Price Per Part ratio is ok. About 11.5 cents USD Take in mind that the licensing cost also contributes heaps to the price, as well as specialised box art and printing for the instructions.
True that. Lego won't use real looking guns. That's why they don't do tanks. And that's a huge disappointment. Imagine Creators Ideas Challenger or M1 Abrams tank. That would be amazing.
@@kevinpeterson1398 honestly though, you can make 007 sets and still keep it pg. Some perfect examples for sets would be the Goldeneye radio dish fight, the Spectre helicopter chase, Goldfinger car chase, Zorin's blimp, etc.

I absolutely love the knock off wheels, how they turn into a great mechanism to slash your arch nemsis's tires. Also knock offs work really well to really complete the look. Can't wait till August 1st to get my hands on this beautiful replica of such an elegant car.
After building both this set as well as the '67 Mustang, the build for the Mustang is much easier and more thought out. For the 007 car, the hood would not close even half way for me, the back shield barely raises, and the trunk comes undone constantly. I have pieces falling off the 007 car due to these issues. Thank goodness the ejector seat and roof work. I love the Bond car but because I found so many issues after building it, I have taken it apart and am now having to rebuild it to determine if it was human error or if pieces indeed came out of place.
Heir Of The Juke Bot Yeah. That was a missed opportunity. If they had a Sean Connery 007 minifigure with the set, there would have been even more people who would bought it for the minifig, not just collectors for the car.
>_> pushed me to order it. ORDERED! I'm really excited. I never buy legos anymore because I like to display the sets and I don't have enough room. The only lego sets I have on display currently are Wall-E and the VW Beetle. This will be a great addition.
I’m buying this set! 2 complaints: no minifigure and display sign (like you see in LEGO’s Tumbler set from Batman) secondly, no oil slick. I would have expected the oil to be all 1 stud black pieces and for it to come out of the tail lights. Whatever’s, still a great set
Built this a few days ago so no idea why I’m watching this, however, the DB5 and the apparently disappointing lack of a mini-figure isn’t why I’m here. What I would actually like to know is, what is the odd looking spiky model on the shelf behind you? (The one underneath what looks as though it could be a Darth Maul bust)
Hello, I have the following problem: the elastic bands are all correct, as per the diagram. the lid opens. and the seat just jumped a little on the axle and sat down again. doesn't crash. can you tell me? maybe the rubber bands are weak? Thank you in advance.
Owning this set the only complaints I have are the matte finished piece on the ejector roof and the non metallic pieces on the bumper otherwise I love this build
I forgot to connect the red bar to the machine gun flipper and got too far through the build before I recognised! It sort of works still but i wouldn’t have known what to take apart to re-build.
It was given to him by Lego as a promotional item. The box is different than the regular consumer box so he legally can't resell it. Notice it has no parts count on the front and it most likely doesn't have a barcode on the bottom either.
You got some weird box, my box was in pristine condition and was delivered with 10 cm of reinforced packaging on all the sides including front and back.
Is it strange to get this if you only saw to Bond Movies? I actually really want to get the Creator Expert Rollercoaster but it's very expansive and this is cheaper so I have more money left for other LEGOs. I really don't know what to do, spend alot of money on the amazing Coaster or should I buy this less amazing but still nice car

BrickVault totally agree with you. I love the car and i'm definitely going to buy this set!
BrickVault when does this come out in stores
So since were getting a bit more adult themes in lego, hopefully we could get the serenity from firefly
General Grevios became available in Lego Stores for VIP members the moment we published this video.
A release of a "companion" Minifigure scale model would be a nice touch... display them side by side...

you could say it has more than meets the golden eye
thumb tack oof...
The look of this set grew on me, and those functions are incredible. I want one

Well joseph dont thank us thank brick vault (: . thank you for saying good thinks (:
And i thank you for making me happy
95% of the comments in this comment section is people saying why it doesn’t have a minifigure
no other big creator car sets come with figs. It's the way it's always been. Super easy to make a james bond fig on your own though so that's good
BrickVault yeah I know I’m completely fine with this set not coming with a figure just other people are a little sad it didn’t come with one

Playatownrisk I agree. But the design and pkayfeatures are so good that you don't need a minifigure in the first place
Exhileris 4k yeah your right but it would still be nice to get one
I was hoping it would be minifig scale as well. Play features are cool, but I like consistent size more

thing is they probably would then not be able to actually fit in the play figures or keep the detail going.

Numerable Toast The reason why it costs more is because of all the functions and specific details that are hidden in the design
Joseph Nicholls it costs more because of the James bond licencing. They have to give who has the rights to James bond cash to use it.
the license to use 007 would have been FAR more expensive than the one to use VW.
Joseph Nicholls I really appreciate the clever design in this set but I don't think this should translate to such a high price
Callum Earle I'd love to find out exactly how much the fees were as the price of this set is madness. Still getting one don't get me wrong!

Ultimate the car is from the 60s, ofc it has old school look
MetriMake • no I meant it looks like an older style of Lego’s builds
Because it's a old-school car.
What I meant is the build looks like it uses older building techniques
Ultimate good point.
Loved the video! I was looking for a video to show the functions in detail, and I fount it right here. Awesome job!!

Not a huge fan of james bond or this build but can definitely appreciate how much work went into designing it.
Man with the golden brick.

What an incredible build for a car, the only thing that would have made the set better would be a James Bond-minifigure.
